  • 2001 Nissan Maxima idle problems
    P0505 and general idle problems that showed up after major work.
    In my case I had to replace air intake boot, tighten throttle cable bolts and do a idle air volume relearn procedure.
    - throttle cable was loose leading to a sticky throttle
    - Air intake Intake boot crack and broken prices. (New intake boot solved the p0505 error. Others may have to replace the IAC (idle air control) part if it’s really bad see this video for IAC • ⭐ P0505 - Idle Air Con...

    I had the same problem with the air tube cracked and it would jump everywhere when taking off

      @dfields9511  Před 2 lety

      Yep I had that as well it throws off the air flow volume the cause it’s after the MAF sensor and the computer doesn’t know how to set the fuel trims.

    Where is the pcv valve located?

    • @dfields9511
      @dfields9511  Před 3 lety

      On the rear valve cover near the throttle body. Location varies between each engine design
      On this one see about 4:40 in the vid

    That is nuts.

      Yep, but that’s how nissian did it. They have a lot of other crazy relearn procedures that can be done without an advanced scanner I have heard. The only other I know of is how to reset the air bag light with the key to the car.

    I'm experiencing this kind of problem as well. I'm thinking of using a wd40 to lube the throttle cable. Will it help?

    • @dfields9511
      @dfields9511  Před 7 měsíci

      No, Look for air leak, difficult to find. If the cable was an issue the cable motion would be hindered

      This sounds like a transmission issue . Check fluid level and quality.

      Could be a air leak or the IAC. P0505

      @@dfields9511 its scary when i searched the failure of IAC that burning ECU because of water shortage .

      Yah it will burn up the ECU if it’s run too long that way.

    The auto parts store didn’t have one? Did it ever occur to go to a Nissan dealer ? Stupid people should leave cars alone and keep your day job!

    • @dfields9511
      @dfields9511  Před 3 lety

      The grommets auto parts store didn’t have one for it so I got it at dealer.
      the pcv hose auto parts store didn’t have it but the one I got was the close enough to work. It’s not a specialty shaped hose.
      As far as how it broke
      The. Old hoses and grommet was so old as brittle it just fell apart just by touching it. The PVC valve really needed replacement anyways. After replacing it burns a lot less oil.

      @@dfields9511 yo I got a 2001 maxima 20th anniversary. I put new brakes alternator battery oil. I really need the vapor canister the car still has power.. but since the canister isn’t putting gas fumes back in the engine I can tell it’s not at the peak performance it could be.. I’ll eventually replace it but do you think I’ll get that extra pep back to the car

      Not everyone can afford to go to a mechanic. Don’t quit your day job. I’m not a mechanic and I’m working on my car, if it’s a sensor then I take it in.
