    Re-jetted today. With the help of my JIS screwdrivers I got the screws all out with ease. I have a UNI stage two style intake and a two brothers black series carbon fiber exhaust. Went with 38/85 jets and no shim. It runs really good, no bogging any where, smooth acceleration. Thanks for the help with this vid Bobby.

    Awesome video! This is 💯 new to me lol. I’m about to pull the trigger on a white and red 2015 ruckus that’s stock. Never ridden one yet but I’m excited. It has a little over 2000 miles on it. I’d like to get a tad more hp for acceleration and a few mph here and there. Mains here are 35 unless I go out towards Walmart which is 45

    Got your full intake kit with jets and shim. Followed all the steps. Crazy thing was when I removed the top diaphragm cover, there was not a longer spring. Just the small spring connected to the white needle retainer. So I added one from an old carb that came with extra parts when I bough my 2014 Ruck. It would not start. I removed the long spring and it started right up. I'm puzzled as to why???

    • @Ethan.s..

      It my be Honda revised that aspect of the carb. I have read the shim is needed more for the older pre 2006 or pre 2012 Ruckus’s. Not 💯 sure about this information though.

    Wow I'm glad I watched this. Not because of the jet replacement but because I learned about the heated carb fittings. I did not know the carb has a cold weather heater. Maybe that's why when I tried running the scooter just before winter the carb was slow responding even after 5 minutes of warm up. It was below 32 deg F for about two week. I probably should have let it warm up about 10 minutes to get the coolant hot so it could the carb could warm up too. Good to know.

    • @Tor2Guh-
      @Tor2Guh- Před 4 lety +3

      Popping is running lean. Also, check the spark plug. If it’s white, it’s lean. If it’s soaked, it’s rich. It ain’t white, you’re good. If it ain’t soaked, you’re gooder. That’s how it was explained to me about 4 years ago.

  • @Frameshaft

    I got the version with the UNI filter, is it normal for the intake to be loud as (almost) hell ? Also, was going fine but then after 10km or so engine stalled and wouldn’t restart. After cooling 15 min starts and idles but as soon as I turn throttle it dies. Any thoughts? Stock exhaust.

    • @Theruckshop
      @Theruckshop  Před 4 lety

      if you have stock exhaust then you only put the 85 main jet in and not the shim or the idle jet. leave the factory idle jet in. but yes it will be louder.. you are too rich right now so thats why its acting like it is.

    How can I tell that a proper Air/Fuel ratio has been met after I upgrade the air intake, exhaust or variater? If I do this and use an 85 jet for example, how will I know that an 80 or 82 wont work more efficiently?

    • @Theruckshop
      @Theruckshop  Před 7 lety +4

      the variator will not have to do with your jetting but the best way to tell is to go wide open then while keeping the throttle wide open use your other hand and cut the ignition off then pull over and check the plug. by doing this you will know exactly how your mixture is at the point of cutting the throttle off. if you were to go full throttle and then slow down and pull over then cut the ignition off it wouldnt read as accurate. thank you

    • @Theruckshop
      @Theruckshop  Před 5 lety +3

      Alan D1 are you kidding us ? I hope you drive an electric car , your car pollutes the environment more than these vapors , every time you fill up your tank vapors come out of the hose . You seriously have too time plus your float bowl usually has trash and sediment in it and you would be putting that back into your tank . Comments like these are just to comment. We apologize we didn’t tell customers to take the gas out from the float bowl and strain it under a enclosed container with rubber gloves since gas also is known to cause cancer too 🙄. Next time we do a video we will just not do one since we didn’t cover all the parts to protect the environment and we will let the customers know that Alan D1 doesn’t want us giving bad advice

    Come on man. If you're going to do a video like this then do it right. Telling them its ok to let the gas drain out all over the bike and it will evaporate? Yes it will and while its doing that the ethanol is doing nasty shit to anything it is laying on while waiting to dry up. How about Take 10 inches of 6mm vacuum hose and slip it on the drain tube that is staring you right in the face while your saying that and let it drain off into a catch can or cup what ever. Next,.. vise grips? ok but show them how to use them the right way. Im guessing you dont know. You were never taught ? If someone has a float bowl screw really in there like I know they can be. ? They wont get it out the way you showed them how to do it. I'll let you figure it out for yourself. I will tell you this. You use the vise grips, and channel locks the same way. And they only work one way. They wont the other. Think pipe wrench.............I say that because its important. They go to try it and if you dont make it a point to show exactly how they will not know. and will not get it done. If they use them the right way they are very effective. The wrong way and they are useless.
