Netherlands Enkhuizen, Flessenscheepjes Museum (Ships in Bottles)

The museum is located in the beautiful Spuihuisje (17th century). This lockkeeper's house was built above the passage to the Zuiderzee. The lock gate can still be seen in the house. It also houses a large collection of bottle ships. After the explanation about the house, you will first be shown a video with an explanation of a bottle ship builder. In addition to all kinds of bottle ships from large to tiny, there are also a number of bottles with art in them. You can contact the volunteers with questions and when it is not busy they have very nice stories to tell about these bottle ships.
Het museum bevindt zich in het mooie Spuihuisje (17e eeuw). Dit sluiswachtershuisje is gebouwd boven de doorvaart naar de Zuiderzee. De sluisdeur is nog te zien in het huisje. Verder herbergt het een grote collectie flessenscheepjes. Na de uitleg over het huis laat men je eerst een video bekijken met uitleg van een flessenscheepjesbouwer. Naast allerlei flessenscheepjes van groot tot piepklein zijn er ook een aantal flessen met kunst erin te zien. Met vragen kan je terecht bij de vrijwilligers en als het niet druk is hebben ze zeer leuke verhalen te vertellen over deze flessenscheepjes. (2014)
