    Just realized this, but the song playing in the game portion of Drifter is a slightly edited version of Vampire Killer from one of the Castlevania games. Also, the game over jingle is the game over jingle from some NES game I can't remember the title of.

    I want to believe that there is an obscure HK-Original console somewhere out there with literally the worlds grandest J-RPG epic on one of its cartridges, and very few people have played the worlds best RPG because of the platform

    • @Unnamed1990
      @Unnamed1990 Před 2 lety +6

      @@TheHutchy01 All of the Hong Kong originals (except this one and the GameMaster) where competent enough to have RPG's at the level of the Gameboy, but Chinesse and other Asian developvers where more interested in the Famicom and Super Nintendo, thats why most of the unknow RPG's (specially Chinesse ones) are concentred in these two systems.
      The Gamate or Supervision could have a very competent Pokémon port or any other popular RPG on the Gameboy

    • @auralunaprettycure
      @auralunaprettycure Před rokem +2

      @@Unnamed1990 I agree with this. This kinda reminds me of what some people have been able to do with the Wonderswan: that’s a very underrated console, that people only know about for a handful of the Capcom/Konami titles (stuff like the mega man games on it),
      And so most people seem to negatively compare it to Gameboy, saying it just didn’t have enough good games or good ideas and leave it at that:
      But there’s actually tons of exclusive RPGs and genre mixing games on the system and many of which were in fact very ahead of their time and influential,
      And homebrewers (although there are not many yet) have been also showing the amazing power of the system.

      "Gold's universal is the company that made it! Which is probably some fake cheapy thing that would probably last for less than a photo second" (Some generic batteries, can't remember the video)
      "So, in conclusion, it may not be very good for games, but it does make a pleasing bouncing sound as you throw it in the bin" (Some popstation video I can't remember.)
      "Even a tiny, tiny monkey would find this controller to small too use, that's absolutely ridiculous. (Retrival Mankind's Batman)"
      "I'd look like a complete idiot if there are any guts to this thing, tuhtuntuhtunnn! tuhtuhthuh, fantastic! yes, as predicted it's entirely of the fake persuasion!" (Opening the fake cartridge from the Game king popstation.)

      ***** hong kong originals generally had there own rip off versions of popular games but we consider them to be there own original thing because they do not play game boy cartridges or run on game boy tech. they usually had there own cheap hardware and ran on funky programming, with fun original games such as super Makio Bros or some other blatant (but not quite copy right breaking) rip off.

    The 'Castlevania' music from Miner is actually the title music from the LEGO website game Spybot: The Nightfall Incident. It was an awesome little flash game, which is unfortunately nearly impossible to play since the version of Shockwave you need is almost impossible to get a hold of.

    MINER MUSIC IS FROM SPYBOT: THE NIGHTFALL INCIDENT!!!!
    I like how everyone noticed the Castlevania and Megaman music but not that one. If I was a snob I'd say "only true gamers would notice that music from an obscure LEGO.com game from the early 2000s" and then have to punch myself. (Actually I'm not 100% sure that was the only game it was in).
    Instead of being a snob, however, I'm going to be a twat and say "Thumbs up if you know what I'm talking about!" :D
