Extrication from thought does not mean the mind doesn't exist. Everything is and isn't it seems. We aren't the dialogue of the mind, however, it doesn't mean the ego mind isn't used as a tool. It'd be helpful for people to actually demonstrate they have a grasp of this thing we call the "mind" before they throw around fearful nonsense like it disappearing.
Non duality is helping me with ocd and hang ups. Thanks so much. Been to therapy and Psychologist but non duality totally helps. Yep if you say you are not your mind it doesnt mean the opposite that is to say you are not not your mind either. In hindi there is an expression called " neti, neti" not this, not this.
Many nondual teachings ask us to question our assumptions, which is a good idea. So I can understand why some people can turn stupid during this project, but it’s very sad. I know of one person who became a “breatharian” and tries not to eat or drink. When I hear radical nondual teachers say that time as well as cause and effect are illusions, I wish I could be in their kitchen with a carton of eggs. I would hold an egg over their floor and say, let’s test your theory. I say that if I drop the egg, it will break on the floor and make a mess. If I’m right, then you clean it up. We could repeat the experiment as often as they’d like.
That would be a good one. Or even faster… if they think they can be so pure, that they can live without food. Why not be even more pure, and live without air? They will learn the truth of that one very quickly!
I have been practicing the non duality meditations of Sam Harris - whom I greatly respect. After considerable time I have made no progress in acheiving the desired state. What is your view, MaPremZareen, on dear Sam`s approach? With great respect, and having enjoyed your video, John, an aged Englishman living in Japan.
The most I know about it is that it has not worked for you. Something about it has turned you into your head. We gotta shake out of our slumber. It usually takes a surprise.
