    I am glad I love most of the foods you mentioned especially buckwheat I love to cook it with fresh mushrooms or dried wild mushroom mix, I love tofu and I have almost daily a drink with soy milk, vanilla and 100% pure cacao 🤎🤍 it's very helpful to know all those foods high in magnesium thanks 😊🙏

      Hi Sheryl, I am one of the 20 percent that need to restrict sodium intake. You just have to see what works for you.
      I try to get my sodium from celery, Miso and other foods instead of salt.

      @@sheryltisdale5765 Sodium restricts the arteries and veins. So I try to thin my blood so the pressure doesn't go up. That's where spices play a major role. Garlic, ginger, cinnamon and many others will thin your blood.
      I have had bypass surgery and liver and gallbladder and some hernia surgeries in the last four years. So it's a real challenge for me to balance them out where I am thinning my blood for the heart, but not too much where it causes bleeding from the cancer related surgeries.
      A six million dollar robot at Barnes Hospital pulled a cantaloupe size tumor, forty percent of my liver and gallbladder out of me. The surgeon said I was three weeks away from dying. So I consider myself very fortunate. My quintuple bypass surgeon was one of the best in the country. He was also trained at Barnes Hospital.

      Within reason, yes but don't forget the other foods too. You don't have to eat just one of the foods. Variety is good

    Dr Joe, how much seeds o e needs to eat a day to covrr our daily recommendations?

      Women need about 300mg of Magnesium per day. Men need 400mg. So it depends on the nuts and seeds. I usually give how much nutrient you get from each food when I do these videos. You can do the calculations from there knowing how much that food supplies against the background of how much Magnesium you need daily. Usually a good idea is to get your nutrient supply from different food sources as opposed to relying on one source only

    This was very helpful. About the dark chocolate,I rarely get 90% dark chocolate but 70%(100g) rather. Is this still helpful, considering that you mentioned 90% dark chocolate , should be the chocolate we should be aiming for ?

      Tofu takes on the flavor of whatever you put it in. You can marinate it in a sauce. I think it has a pleasant flavor.

    Thankyou Dr Joe. I usually have the 85% Green & Blacks dark. But I thought the Chocolate covered Pumpkin seeds would be good because they are mainly pumpkin seeds & it is dark chocolate they are covered with. I checked because I have friends who are vegan. I will check out the amount of sugar in them again. I will get some hemp seeds too. I like to sprinkle seeds on my salads.

    Dr. Joe, I don’t consume dark chocolate, even 90% as I am plant- based and avoid sugar and dairy. However, I consume lots of chocolate nibs and cacao powder/paste daily. I assume I am getting magnesium. I already eat most of the foods you have listed. Thank you for the video, which popped up on my CZcams list and have liked, subscribed, and will now share.😊

      We use to eat at Applebee's about three times a week. I would get the olive oil salad almost always with extra olive oil. In 2015 our waiter said that they had switched to vegetable oil in 2005. In 2016 I had a quintuple bypass!
      They didn't tell people that and they didn't lower the price.
