I took good care of it, trimmed the edges, kept it clean and well moisturized. I loved it, and I knew noone else in my social circle who had a beard like that. Got tons of compliments for it, but also people insulting me. At some point, I grew tired of it (and of the extensive care), and so I shaved it off. Maybe it'll come back at some point, but for now I'm good.
