  • Documented my first time riding my husband's custom 2002 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy. Mentally this was the challenge I needed to do, to gain more confidence in riding larger motorcycles. Stick around until the end for a cute little surprise. Thanks for tuning in and make sure to subscribe for more moto-related content!

    Wow, you have great clarity on your voice. It's so clean. Can you do a video on your helmet setup?

    Good job. That's how my wife ended up with a Road King. She road mine and loved it, then she had to have one also.
    High 5!

      Richard Schwartz the 24 inch bars were something that I’m not sure if I can get used to though. 😂

    I was the one who encouraged my husband too & he is now hooked as well! My first bike (the one I learned on) is my 2002 Fat Boy & I LOVE Bob. And don’t worry about dropping a bike. The first day I owned my Road King, I dropped her. We all do it.

    Well done, I’ll give you a high-five for accepting that challenge! Looked like you were enjoying it! Those ape-hanger bars reminded me of some of the early ‘70’s ‘choppers’, when I first got into bikes.....Awesome!

    That view thru the bars looks like an old movie clip! Good job getting out of your comfort zone. Once it’s moving the size of the bike make little difference. Careful with the slow speed maneuvers.

    • @whitmeza
      @whitmeza  Před 4 lety

      Yes! Thank you! I am finding that out. It takes a bit more conscious effort to "slow" down and think with the larger bikes.

    You sure did well .I just sold my 98 wide glide ( had it 18 years)
    Bought a immaculate 2002 Fat Boy 6 weeks ago ( have not ridden it yet as was deep snow here ) intend riding it end of March.
    Rode one over 25 years ago at a Harley demo.
    Took me a long time to get one .So watching all these Fat Boy riding clips .Just wondering what the lean angle will be like compared to my FXDWG.
    Good commentary .As we say here , its the Nuts.

    ✋hey Whitney new subscriber here. Was introduced to your channel on the Fireside chat with the "Ball Cap Boys" . I ride a Sportster also. I have the 2015 XL883N the Iron. I love mine too. Got the stage one upgrade. I put Vance & Hines Short Shots, a V&H FP3, and a Arlon Ness Monster Sucker 90° high flow intake. It's beautiful. Black Denim. (But it scratches easy and it can't be buffed out, has to be repainted to fix) I hope you do a walk around of your Sportster. Congratulations on you Iron But ride. I maybe too old to do that. I'm 59. I don't know if I could stay up all night anymore to do that.
    Keep the rubber side down. Ride safely!

    I'm with you, riding any of the used bikes at the Dealership I worked at with the apes just made me uncomfortable lol they're just not easy to move around at slow speeds XD I had to man handle a quite a few to take photos for the website etc they never grew on me haha.
    Good on you building the confidence to ride outside your comfort zone!

    • @whitmeza
      @whitmeza  Před 4 lety +1

      As the Magpie Flies oh man, I had the guys in service help move the bikes when I had to take photos of them. This year I’m going to try and ride his bike more for my daily commute, so fingers crossed. 24 inch apes though....not my first choice. 😂

    That’s one cool bike, love the bars. As others have said, you’re audio is great. I’m not sure Soph will want to ride mine with her height and my bars! 😂 Renting bikes for events sounds cool! You doing any test rides this year too? I guess that would be good practice.
    Love the sound of the bike too!
    Great job on overcoming any thoughts or obstacles which have helped you get on it and ride!

    It looks like you handled the Fat Boy just fine. It definitely is not a good feeling to drop a bike... we've all been there. If you ever go for a test ride, give the Street Bob a try. It's a nice ride. I'm taking a trip out of state in late Spring and I have been studying google maps to the point that I know where every crack in the road is on my trip LOL. Great video.

    Giving you massive High 5's! Not only is it bigger bike but those freaking APES! The handlebars being so high would of worried me. I'm fine with just getting to know my sportster 1200 more and more (I just got it Sept2020) previous rode 2006 Suzuki Volusia 800 for 2 yrs so I have no desire to ride other bikes I am looking forward to riding the most miles I've ever rode in my 3 yrs of riding and getting to know my sporty way more!

    "My confidence riding anything big... bikes" lol, nice save. I haven't rode a Heritage myself, but just setting on one, it feels way lighter and much more comfortable than my Dyna. Maybe a lower center of gravity. People often comment on how easy they are to handle and how light it feels. Check out this vid from a Sportster owner testing a Heritage(maybe start at 7:15): czcams.com/video/Q-vxf-_w9ag/video.html
