Very cool trick. You can do the same with many old GM A/C compressors on the front housings to fit different applications. The D-A6 the HR-6 and V-5 models. We called it "Make it work" Thanks again Richard.
I just recently purchased a 12SI Powermaster alternator and I need to clock it for my C3 corvette and the brushes don’t seem to have a half circle cut out of them like yours do, I am afraid to force anything down there and break one of the brushes
Thanks mate that was interesting I didn’t know you could do that, maybe while you can’t do normal work you could do a step by step on reconditioning or rebuilding a faulty alternator or starter motor etc. . That sort of thing would be very educational and entertaining.

That would be a CS133 model alternator. Many of them were used. Simple, small and usually reliable.
