Being a completely bored numbnut, I charted all of these weights.
Minimum: 4.53
Median: 7.22
Average: 7.04
Max: 10.33
😂 Don't forget to take your medication next time. Also, thanks.
Thanks for the work!
yeah but as shown at the end, the error margin was huge 😃
That 4.53kg Cannondale was wild.
Madness
ideal for guy with 100+ kg@@goonzjav
Emily a few weeks ago - I have no interest in being in the spotlight.
Emily now - Absolute rock star.
🙈 I was just meant to be holding the camera but it was heavy and jimmi couldn’t remember the questions so we agreed to swap 😂
@@emilychilds8085we love youuuuuuuu - you were awesome
You did an awesome job! @@emilychilds8085
@@emilychilds8085 You're a natural, great job Emily!
The best and correct decision. More Emily please.😊
After weighing a 5.5Kg with a sub compact crankset setup:
Q: What have you done to it?
A: Well it has alot of Aliexpress things on.
nuff said😁
The British racing scene is unique, strange and so much fun! I hope it never changes.
Pay to race an extremely overpriced fragile bikes to 'race' for only 15-20mins, which must be driven to, because the bike/tyres are too fragile to ride for any other purpose
@@utube7930 man, they don't drive F1 cars to races, they don't ride fixed gear tt bikes to the velodrome, why should they ride these?
Look how happy they all are, that's what it's all about
Emily is a great host. Some incredible bikes and some surprising weights both heavy and light 😮
Love the diversity of riders, young, old, men & women alike with a spectacular mix of bikes!
I appreciated the guy with the old steel bike of about 10 kg. And I bet he didn't come in last.
Difficult to be sure where he came. Too many Sams were competing. He certainly did not come in last though.
Honestly the joy in the depth and breadth of British-bike-nerdiness is real. I had 4 “weighing hill climb bikes” in my feed this morning and this one made me actually happy.
I genuinely don't believe that red canyon aeroad weight 6 kg. If you add up the frame, wheels, and ultegra you would get something much closer to 7kg nothing on that bike was super light enough to get it that low. That scale seemed to be doing some funny readings at times.
10:00 this dude understands the optimal wheel set up.
Yeah, annoys me to see brands selling 40 front 55 back, the air is so disrupted at the back, that if you aren't using a full disc wheel, you are just putting weight on your power wheel for nothing, cut the weight on the power wheel, improve aero on the wheel that is facing the wind the most
So I guess all those pro teams setup for TT were wrong? 😂 Bro science much?
if it a full disc it. Bro read much?@@Dee-Ell
@@bernardo9202 Ah ok. So, when a setup destroys your theory, it's just an exception. Bro science.
@@Dee-Ell you are right bro
Hats off to the guy with the 10kg bike. Madness riding up the hill with that.
that guy rule ! with a reynolds steel frame, I am sure he didn't came last !
I absolutely love these videos. The fun you guys bring to the conversations, the fun that the participants bring, the pride or lack thereof in their bikes, the sheer joy of participating. It's really infectious and it made me smile as big this year as it did last. Hope you guys make this a permanent tradition!
great video! loving the effort you guys put in in standing there and weighing all the bikes! and i love the diversity of bikes.
🚴🚴♀🚵♂
Really interesting seeing all the different bikes and the age range of the riders as well. Looks like a great time. The weight of the bike only matters if everything else that can be lighter or more aero is also taken care of. As the math and physics dictate, it's all about watts/kg. Feather can hold over 6w/kg, so unless you're a top pro climber, you've got very little chance of beating him. Thankfully I live in FL where there are no real climbs, because I'm a heavier rider. My bike could literally weigh 2kg and I'm still getting dropped when the road goes up. Downhill though, that's where I really shine. 🤣😂
Excellent video. Simple but enthralling. A definite Cade Media Classic.
And the smiles on those cyclists -- even the lad wrapped up in the thermal blanket -- were a joy and a delight.
Live long and pedal hard!
Sub 5 kgs bikes are insane… these very young British lads are straight outta Peaky Blinders
Emily mic drop is GOLD. Great video. Wish I’d been there! Not to climb that god awful hill, but to cheer everyone else crazy enough to do so! 🤪🤪🤪
Thank You! 🙏 great to see so many real light weight rim brake bikes!
Awesome video,my favourite Cade video this year,so many different people, bike's and bike weights.💯👌🏻🚴♀️✌🏻
Absolutely love this. So many different people and bikes just there to race and have fun.
I have no intention of ever trying to reduce the weight of my bike, or race it up hills, but this stuff is impressive as hell! (As are the people!) Love it.
Loving how much you guys are uploading right now!!
great video, wonderful to see so many different ages and people going here
Absolutely loved this… the mentality of the riders, the efforts and humour.. all amazing.. also some future stars in and amongst like Ruby Isaac!
9:18 "Take the lights off and it's basically 6" 😂😂
As a 64 y.o. rider. so delighted to see the seniors well represented. Ride On!
11:51 Dr.Salbutamol is amazing 😂
Top film! Great variety of bikes!!!!
8:36 did not expect to see a cube bike!
Best bang for the money
At first glance I thought this vid would be arb but it was actually great fun! Some good pointers as to which second hand bikes to look out for. Those hillclimbs look a right lark, definitely going to check them out when I come over there next year
Fun video. Great production. Loved the age range participating in the event.
Amazing video.. love to see National Hill Climb Championship. best wishes
that 4,6 cannondale could have been 4 kg flat with some ez changes. (but not sure about the scales, even good ones heavily depend on the way you hold em)
Best bit: Harry hammering a Paulaner. Cheers.
Props to Nick for curling bikes all day. dude is probably jacked to the tits.
Brilliant. What an amazing bunch of lovely characters
Harry was funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 And Emily was amazing
This was so much better than expected. More!
Good to see Young and Old out there having Fun!(Bit if work, but Fun!) 😁
Great insight. Em,s mile drop at the end got me 😂😂
Great video. I think I could watch that for hours.
Emily's commitment while using the fake mic is amazing. Great video. Buncha nerds out having real fun, going all out on their own creation. I love it.
This was an awesome video. Love seeing Emily in action.
I have another bucket list event. That looks like a punishingly good time. Thanks for taking me along.
I really enjoyed this vid, thanks team.
That was fun, good job Nic has a strong arm weighing all those bikes,Emily now Cade media's roving reporter.
great to see the kids getting involved.
scale seems off on that aeroad @7:50
Loved this video. Just what we all need to know about hillclimb bikes, 'how much does it weigh'.
Dunno why the B roll between interviews gave me The Office vibes 😂 great video guys
Mostly stock apart from wheels, Canyon aerode rim at 6.0kg was probably the biggest surprise to me! Seriously light for an aero bike!
Because the scale has not been calibrated. 😂
Now we know where all the old, rim brake SuperSixEvo's are!
One of the first.. Even though I am by far not as light as those bikes 😂. Loving the diversity of your content... Greetz from Germany. 🎉
So happy to see so many women at the event! If I had only seen GCN and bikeradar's coverage of the hill climb I might have thought there were only men present...
7.6kg expensive trek emonda disc vs 5.6kg vitus aliexpress for under a grand quid.
This video really shows how riders who think latest = greatest get shafted.
And apparently, that aeroad was 6kg 😂
the headset top cap and bung or top cap and bolt is purely for bearing preload.. once the stem is tightened to the fork steerer the aheadset top cap and bolt can be removed..
Amazing mic drop ending. Yay Emily!
Awesome💪Best regards Martin
'the riders got a right gut on him' rings a bell there.. 😁
Now that was one very enjoyable video chapeau Team Cade 😁👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🚴🏻♂️🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
Jolly lot you British hill climbers. Cheers from Sicily.
At 2:38, I have never seen more scatchy Discs than this jesus christ lol
Great vid!
8:05 loved to see something classic!!
Emily definitely dropped that mic 😅......a proper fun video team Cade Media 👏 Any guesses as to the collective total weight of the weighed bikes in the video? 🤔🙂
that scale seems so dodge ahahaha - brilliant stuff as always!
Those rim brake Cannondale Super Six Evo’s are just pure class.
That was surprising enjoyable 😂
Beard on a Bike 🤣 (he has his on vlog of the day, brilliant watch)
"melted like a sloppy carrot"... love your channel.
Great video, special mention for Emily's mic drop and Nick's you've lost some bolts chat.
I would go for the s3. Very light and very aero. Essentially it's 6.6kg not modified. Lighter seatpost, handlebars and groupset, some shallow but still somewhat aero wheels and you've got yourself a light aero bike sub 6kg. The speed they ride up the climb I think aero still matters a bit
I dont believe that canyon aeroad was 6kg 😂
I thought that too...looks like he's lifting it up to take some of the weight off the scales
This is my bike, I can confirm it is 6kg! Built to be an aero bike at climbing bike weight. They weighed it twice because they didn't believe the scales at first
Mate there's not a chance @@roberthenry961
@@roberthenry961 Super impressive, with mostly stock dura-ace and elves wheels?
@@StringerBell50 Yep basically, and a few other bits. Those older rim aeroad frames are incredibly light
Spoiler alert: these kids know their bikes VERY well
This is an amazing video
Drink for each cannondale supersix evo mentioned.
15:44 is my fave
Me too, that kid rules. "I think it's fake... well I paid 300 GBP for the frame from some dodgy website" hahaha
More Emily please, love the mic drop.
Great video
😂😂😂 Thoroughly enjoyable content.
Emily's awesome!
🤩🤩
Calibration required 😂
Holding up all those bikes. How does Nick get such strong wrists 😂
And the rider has a right gut on him, testify brother!
Gotta love Nial with his fake Colnago. He is the spirit of hillclimb.
You don't have to worry about it breaking downhill if it's only uphill, that's smart
great content
Brilliant video!
Take love
Would love to see the mass of the bike vs hill climb result on a plot
0:25 Dude, nice valve on front wheel
Beard on a bike, me too. Gonna sub.
How is my medium carbon Giant Defy with carbon roval wheels, dura-ace groupset, carbon saddle, carbon pedals, carbon bottle cages etc. 8.5kg 😭
Cannondale surely has some old but gold bikes out there.
Nice to see Kentucky ballistics is a cycling fan 🤣 🦖
I love seeing people with older bikes. Just goes to show that you don’t need to spent thousands on modern bikes a tech
+1 for the guy with the Reynolds steel frame !
Let’s have more of Emily hosting your show. She’s a refreshing change. Cheers!
Id take the paint of that first sl6 to go sub 6kg!
That was fun
30 seconds in, Penge massive!
Did Emily actually drop the mic at the end?! 😂
And here I am happily riding my 12kg Triban RC520 on my uphill loops hahaha😂
