The KLF - America: What Time Is Love? (Official Video) An Atlas Adventure Directed by Bill Butt KLF Communications Listen to Solid State Logik 1: smarturl.it/KLFSSL1
Amazing, I always wondered what it was like to on that boat during that filming, can't believe someone on here is commenting. Also was nipple taping mandatory or was that just Cressida taking the initiative?
@@marcmccomiskey The taping was a requirement for US release... apparently. The ship was the ship that was used in the film Erik the Viking. It leaked like a sieve, sank and was subsequently suspended from a boom crane during filming.
in a video that is packed with so many cool images, i can't help but be drawn to two Knights Who Say "Ni!" who are absolutely rocking out in front of the drum set.
Saved his life apparently? He hit rock bottom in the late 80’s early 90’s, and then KLF came along, which resurrected his career, much like Wynette? He got clean and sober and still rocks till this day!
Is this really happening? Pinch me, I must be dreaming. Thank You KLF. Pretty sure my kids thought you were a figment of my imagination. So happy to be able to share these with them
Glen Hughes on vocals. Motorhead ‘Ace Of Spades’ sample. Re-working of ‘What Time Is Love?’ The absolute genius of Bill Drummond & Jimmy Cauty. Welcome back The KLF.....it’s been too fucking long.
Cmon man, they were alright but only had the one melody. And they admit that themselves. The art stunts were more interesting than the cheesy house music, which hasn't aged well at all. They done well to keep their heads down for so long.
@@hb-fc3jj A lot of house music was dated the day it came out but the contrast of elements in the music by KLF, on the contrary, has held up. It's there in the details.
@@sex6cult9revolution Have you ever read any of Bill Drummond's books? The details are a bit clearer there. He wrote that by the time they briefly reformed to do Fuck The Millennium they had become irrelevant, and had to resort to taking samples from Chemical Brothers tracks. They also had a hard time writing the melody for it as Cauty's sampler disks for 3AM Eternal had stopped working. So they sent a runner out to source a second hand copy of the original 12" so they could use their one solitary working melody. I really like them and the buzz about them at the time but they weren't the best, by a long shot. The people who raved about them at the time were the major music press. The underground dance scenes saw them as a bit cringeworthy; "house music for Top of the Pops" It was fun while it lasted, but we can't expect younger generations to give more than a passing fuck about people like the KLF.
@@lillebrorsanvincent2017 It wouldn't be on Spotify unless they, or their management did. Now, last I checked, they did all their work through their own label, so I am guessing they did supply their work to Spotify. As for CZcams, that is anyones guess.
Absaloutly legendry, what a band I am so glad the internet keeps good stuff like this alive. The KLF transformed music. My first CD I bought was The KLF :No more and that song was on there, then there is a bagpipe version too and it makes your hair stand on end. Sounds from First Iraqi War in early 90's, radio charter, gunfire, missiles launching and aftershock sounds of bomb shels going of, fenominal stuff for that time, and the stereo is breath taking. The melenials have no clue on how far ahead this band was for its time.
Personal experience: Imagine me, a kid in '90 from communist Romania aka North Korea of Europe seeing this on TV after 10 years without TV after so called revolution. I suffered a cultural sock with this song: free art, religious speech, rap, rock, classic, techno in same song, irony and seriousity in same song, video black full of action, the sexy girl behind the drummer... this video is complete essence of our world, we should send it to outer spaces! Who doesn't get it....
The track is ultra legendary but let's not mix in the commies or the cappies. I grew up in the west and still don't know what hit me with this specific track, I adored 6 am eternal, but that was a smooth understandable groove, and then this lol.
I was fortunate enough to have TV in those times (before 89'' ) , have friends and acquaintances with VHS video tapes ... so was not that shocking for me , but indeed was something different and i'm romanian too ...
This video is everything, I'm loving the opera influences and Monty Python looking knights. I wish I was on that boat it looks like one hell of a party
2021 is looking so much brighter than 2020, thanks to Billy & Jimmy & your friends @KLF for making this happen: Love from Totnes, Devon : I still have happy times of you on the A30 Fairmile/ Fort Trollheim roads protect back in October 1996.
The KLF came like a hurricane in my life, in the beginning of the 90 th. I liked each single song, this energy is not comparable to other songs and projects. And so quick they came, they were gone. Unforgetable music, thank you for that. My personal favourite is: Last train to trancentral !
I remember having a KLF tape circa 7th grade circa 1991! Timeless music, if this came out today I'd probably lose my mind. Alas nothing's this interesting (to me).
Must have watched this a thousand times, gonna watch it a thousand more. To conceive the idea for this video and then follow through on the madness that fills every second is genius.
@@hackerjack79 Agreed, but America is the best one of them. Especially the version they did in the Live at Lost Continent "live" mix. That one is pure insanity.

This video is a masterpiece and should be preserved in national archives for cultural heritage.
See you in the national film registry, brother
These guys were 100% madness, jamming industrial, guitars and rap together like there's no tomorrow.
There's a system to their madness. And they made effin' beautiful music.
Beautiful insanity.
..and dont forget the gospel singer! This is beyond madness, its genius!
and made music history 😁
They were academics and artists by trade and not really a band hence weird wonderful music like this
