I lived in a Green and Green for a few years in Pasadena. A great experience and gorgeous house.

Intertesting. The Gamble house, build for James A. Culbertson, designed by Green and Green, just outstanding. Powerful work that stands the taste of time.

I wonder if the gambel house is still open for public tours.... i toured it as a young lad over 30yrs ago.. and would love to bring my own children to see it....

You got to live in it while studying architecture at USC? If that’s not a statement that induces jealousy I don’t know what is!

Going to England and visiting the start of Arts and Craft movement with William Morris’s home a must!

I love arts and crafts and bungalows and I see the craftsmanship in Greene and Greene designs but I just don't like it. It's too busy for me. the wall at 0:45 does not say Craftsman to me. I like the overall shape of the Gamble house but there are too many exposed exterior rafters and they all have that step down in them. All the rounded edges, cloud lifts, and oversized, protruding, and rounded finger joints is not Craftsman to me. I absolutely see the craftsmanship but I do not like the design. I guess I'm a Morris/Stickley guy.
