    3rd generation trucker.8 months in on the O/O side and 14,000 in on emissions repair.I have learned all the codes so I'm at the point now I know how to do the repairs myself. ISX15 Engine has no problems I love it. All the issues come from my one box and I must say somebody got very rich off this emissions theory. If I'm not mistaken about 90 percent of the world don't have emissions regulations including aviation, rail and boats.We are easy targets. Good to see you fixed your problem. Be safe.

    Just been thru it. Even changing DPF differential pressure sensor didn’t work. Can’t go 100 miles without stopping to regen. Need new DOC, DPF, and SCR. $$$$$. Truck is parked for the foreseeable future. I’m tired of always doing the right thing. Maybe time for the Big “D”. Gonna be 60 this year and my truck is sitting in a field. How much worse can they make it? EPA can kiss my ass!!

    Mine was smoking and I had to replace the fiberglass gaskets. I was getting a lot of fumes in the cab. In December through the beginning of this month I just went through it. Didn’t take it to the shop so I learned a lot about the after treatment system 🤬

      All new gaskets, I think it might be somewhat normal and the soot will seal in the cracks as I go, we’ll see, I mean all the piping is new, all new clamps, all new heat gaskets, and everything is as tight as you can get it without breaking it, it also smoked less after the first regen, maybe the filters were restricting the exhaust a little bit causing it to seep out🤷‍♂️ I don’t know? time will tell, i’ll put a wrench on each clamp in the morning before I take off and make sure they’re still tight but the computer is happy for now
      Thanks for the reply

    If you still need help with your truck let me know! dealerships are a waste of money. that's the problem with this industry, truckers rely on the diagnostic being correct on the first go not replace a part and come to find ou that's not the problem. deletes are the easiest routes but a lot of people do bad work.

      Cat C15 is unfortunately the away to go. These Cummins are really problematic they built in the emmisons system, so it makes it tuff to delete properly. I've heard alot of guys delete and have the ISX blow up in 200K miles.

    • @growthefarmup2606
      @growthefarmup2606 Před rokem +2

      @Trucking Perfected I firmly believe that any person that started a campaign to save the combustion engine and work to get the emmisions systems eleminated (not the emissions standards) because nobody will ever understand "raising" emissions standards. But they do understand lawsuits and class action payments. I agree with you totally, if someone could credibly articulate the cost of emissions systems since 2005 to the total economy and file a class action lawsuit for all repairs, lost revenue because of down time, undelivered products... these emmisons systems are costing retailers and consumers too... the overall transportation costs get transfered to the consumer in the end, I believe the payout would be over 100 billion dollars+ to nearly every tax paying, American citizen, and anyone that actually owned and used the diesel emmisions systems (trucker, farmers, California's lol) should be refunded the total current market value or purchase price (whichever is higjer) of their equipment and replace every worthless emmisons diesel engine with rebuilt new 3406, 60 series, N14's. They don't put these emmisions systems on the giant freight ships engines, because there too unreliable to even put on a commercial sea craft! I think enough people can understand the terrible cost that has been inflicted. I'm almost certian that a jury of 12 could be convinced, and it just takes 1 verdict. Then the EPA, would see their liability and would try to settle the lawsuit as quickly and quietly as they could. I feel for ya. My dream truck is a T660, have one, bought it with an ISX15. Struggled thru 1 year a 60K miles (in the shop 6 months of the year) I bought it with 458,000 miles and it still had warranty, fresh off of a "overhaul" and a totally replaced DPF and EGR system. It ran great for a week! Lol then it was a nightmare if it was my only or my first truck it woulda put me outta biz. In 2019 I finally said F it! stretched it put a pusher on it and dropped in a 800HP marine crank and cam C17 CAT all I do is heavy haul bulk loads in a 3 state area and I havnt been in a shop since 2019, except every 12K miles for oil and an alternator. Heck I even took the truck to Cali during the pandemic, nobody looked under the hood, and at inspection stations 90% of people don't even know what to look at!!! There head is so far up their book! Lol. I painted my rebuild cat white and I've never been questioned. Just keep all cat logos off it! I agree that being able to go to California is necessary for true OTR fleets but if you can cut a niche in the Midwest, a cat is expensive but you will never worry again. What is all that great "fuel milage" worth these new engines supposedly get when your in the shop not turning miles? Absolutely nothing. Everyone of my non emissions trucks have higher ROI than my emmisons trucks... because they stay running! Yes the fuel bill is a lil more, but they gross another 3 grand a month because they just don't break, don't have any electric sensors that can interrupt a computer system except the simple new flashed ECM. Keep ya chin up, I been right where your at, at some point you gotta stop throwing good kkeny after bad! My 2 cents, just saw your vid and your truck and your story reminded me of mine!!!! Best of luck to ya! Hopefully you keep away from the check engine lights and the rubber down!

    You can only make so much emissions for a gallon of fuel. Whether you emit it now over a long period, or all at once later on, you can only make so much.
    Now, with all these emissions systems causing worse fuel milage, I can not see how this is any better because there is going to be a certain amount of emissions.

    Buy a pre emmission glider truck

  • @2020HotShotTruckingLLC

    That's better! 1K YEA!!! Lol! So i just bought a 2010 Peterbilt 387 (CM871) with 972K Miles. Bought it knowing that the ISX is a 1M mile engine and would likely need a rebuild soon. No DEF on any vehicle I will ever own. This truck has zero blow-by and the ISX mechanic doubts it hasn't had a rebuild. No past history as the company who owned it will not talk to me. But the cam is worn and replacing it and the related parts is half the cost of a rebuild. I'm 62 and want to work till about 70 so that's right about 1M miles so it kinda makes sense to rebuild now and drive out those 1M miles. The shop asked me if I had considered deleting it and that has me scratching my head. Obviously they know what's best for these trucks but I really don't know the ramifications of deleting, assuming that they do it correctly. I hear that many shops won't work on them if it's been deleted and half the reason for buying an ISX is that so many shops can work on them. It would suck to break down and have it towed from shop to shop looking for someone who would work on it...

      Yea my Cummins had no blow-by when I bought it with 600k. Until the first oil change. Then I had plenty. It’s called Rislone ring seal. My seller probably filled the crankcase with it. Not trying to be negative, but you may want to get an oil sample analysis. Wish I had.
