Shades of my youth! I worked and hung out at Smale’s Pace coffee house in London Ontario in 1972-73. This song brings back so many memories. Thanks.

My parents had this on 8 track, and later on a mixed cassette. This song brings back so many good memories of driving around in our old '79 F250 Crew Cab, with this song playing in the cassette deck.

My friend I worked with in Toronto, Paul Taylor, player lead guitar with these boys for four years. What a blast they were at parties.

Hi Dan. It was at Crosslink in Rexdale/Toronto back in 87-88...about a year and a half. Party stories? Not too many, just that The Good Brothers smoked so much dope that he had to leave the band for that as they were wired all the time. LOL Say hi for me. He may not want to hear about me as I quit a little angrily but we got along for the most part. I went into military weapon systems after that.

What a great group they were. Saw them for the first time at Western University opening for Gordon Lightfoot in the early 70's. They described their music as "back porch" Saw them many times after that at a little coffee house in London, Ontario called "Smales Pace"

Smales Pace is legendary. Check out Garnett Rogers' book containing a chapter on it, if you can.

I saw them only once, at the Coronet in Kitchener, but it was very much a party atmosphere. I like the Good Brothers version best, but it was originally sung by Manfred Mann of all bands in 1968.

A truly great bluegrass band. Often associated with Gordon Lightfoot, who they played backup for for a number of years.

saw them in a bar on the danforth in toronto years ago, and between sets ran into the twins in the mens room... in one of those awkward adjacent urinal moments i asked them if they'd play 'kitty star' -- they said sure and asked my name... the next set they dedicated the song to me, which was way above and beyond... straight-up solid cats
