The Batwa is an African pygmy tribe in south west Uganda in the Kigezi district. The tribe is in danger of becoming extinct due to displacement from their forest habitat.
Yes! this is who we are, proudly so. I am 100% African. I wish I could jump in to boost the gentleman in blue to push a splendid dance. I love it. I will never leave the shores of Africa I belong here, I sign off. with love from Zambia.
Little boy!!! Hahaha, the title says "batwa" which means pygmy, they are the shortest people in Uganda. So don't be surprised if he is beyond 30, has a wife and children.
This is my very favorite video of them all. These people are so joyful though it all. The Lil kid is amazing. He is not missing a beat and his timing is unbelievable. May God continue to bless these beautiful people from on the other side of this wonderful world which we live in. I love this so much. It gives me a lift everytime I tune in to it which is almost daily. Thanks so much for a song and dance as this.
African believe in God no matter the poor we believe one day we will overcome all challenges n live as one Africa one God 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏. I remember when I was young I use to dress those oversize cloth like that kid I thought its normal but its was not coming from poor ground but i learn a lot. my love from Kenya🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
I was feeling really down and God led me to this beautiful video. Yahwe bless all the people in this village and the person who put the video on. Thanks for sharing.
Right here in South Africa we do relate to the dance. The Xhosa tribe and pedi tribe have similar cultural dance as this one. The truth is Africa we are one.
I am a mukiga from Kabale; we don't look down on Batwa! They are a shy group of people that chose to keep and stay in their forest foraging culture until recently when deforestation has forced them out, as they could not access their regular game and fruits; however Batwa also preferred to work for food as they didn't appreciate any other foreign possessions, hence the impression of being looked down upon by those foreign to kabale; Bakiga are a free tribe that has no King they are organized through clans and the nuclear family, therefore do not have a culture of making anyone their subject; Batwa language falls between Rukiga and Kinyarwanda however they can speak fluently both languages as they need the skill to work in these communities; i don't know how they are treated the Rwandan side. Batutsi in kabale kanungu and mpororo are decedants of bafumbira migrating from kisoro and some Rwandese who got refuge during the 50's and 60's .
oh wow. love the singers, love the family, and well done to The ones that taught a young one. Awesome!. Love fromeNew Zealand, Tonga and The Cook Islands.
poor or no, African people we enjoy with what we have, I am proud of you guys, woooow, eeeey the little kid, my miaou good one, i like, hahahaha go on yaaa.
No stage or dance floor. No expensive musical equipment. No alcohol or drugs. Nothing but clapping, tapping a stick on a plastic jug, and thousands of years of tribal spirit. NOTHING in the West can match this. NOTHING!!!
Just look at simplicity, innocence, harmony with nature, completely oblivious of our nuclear weapons menace, of our rat race, of the unbridled lust for wealth, of the stock exchanges, of covid-19. I wish we the so-called 'civilised and exposed' would leave their forests for them. And they sing Hallelujah! It's just bliss here. God bless you great folks. Regards from Nigeria.
Nice traditional music and dance. The kids and their people give joy to my heart. Wonderful. I wish if they could continue to dance in happiness and without sorrows and fear. My best greetings to all of them. Thank you för showing this treasure of Africa!
This is the spirit of a beautiful togetherness , that young guy he made my day with the courage he has , this is absolutely amazing to encourage the little ones in everything so that they carry the touch in their generation , thank you for posting this beautiful dance .
Love 💕 it, don’t understand what they are saying but I feel compelled to watch and still have an understanding of the celebration is . Love ❤️ the performance of both young dancers
if we didn't have Africa, or if we lost it, the world will be a terrible place to live. great part of joy and spirituality will be also lost. Gods, any or all of them , bless these two lil'babies and keep them safe to be, some day, adults without loosing the pride of be what they are. I can't understand the Earth without this feeling...
"nta intambara yanteye ubwoba" = there is no war that I have feared ! This people are great and strong! really inspiring ! There are rwandans not ugandans ! they sing in kinyarwanda here
If I ever learned just how much culture was and continues to be lost in all of Africa...damn! However, those two kids (one in the background) were awesome!
Very cheerful music. Little baby is impressive. It now time for African countries to look to the future and see what opportunities they can make for the likes of this little child and millions like him. Dancing and clapping doesn't put food in their mouths. Africa is one of the most resourceful continents and should have no need for foreign aid, either in food or money.
