- Television commercial for the opening (January 26, 1994) of Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California.
ABOUT
"Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin is a dark ride located at the Disneyland Park (Disneyland Resort) and Tokyo Disneyland theme parks. It is inspired by the 1988 Walt Disney Pictures and Amblin Entertainment feature film Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Both versions of the attraction are located in Mickey's Toontown. The Disneyland version opened on January 26, 1994, a year after the Mickey's Toontown area opened, and the Tokyo Disneyland version opened on April 15, 1996.
HISTORY
Roger Rabbit was recognized as a lucrative character by Disney after the release of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and an ambitious set of attractions based on the movie were developed for many Disney theme parks. Roger Rabbit was even set to be the star of his own land, behind Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland, called Hollywoodland. Meanwhile, over at the Magic Kingdom, a new land behind Fantasyland was being developed in honor of Mickey Mouse's sixtieth birthday, named Mickey's Birthdayland.
In September 2021, it was announced that Walt Disney Imagineering would update the ride in Disneyland to include a new plot element of Jessica Rabbit in the role of a detective who is determined to stop a crime wave in Toontown. The update debuted in December 2021.
There were also set to be attractions based on Roger Rabbit, Judge Doom, and Baby Herman opening in a major expansion at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Tokyo Disneyland, but after the financial troubles of the Euro Disney Resort, plans were cut back with only Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland receiving any Roger Rabbit-themed attractions. In the ride, Marvin Acme's "Acme Warehouse" from the film is called the "Gag Warehouse."
At the start of the ride's queue entering the Toontown Cab Company, some license plates hanging on the wall have code-like puns of various Disney characters or slogans. They include 2N TOWN (Toontown), BB WOLF (Big Bad Wolf), MR TOAD (Mr. Toad), 1DRLND (Wonderland), 1D N PTR (Wendy & Peter Pan), IM L8 (I'm late - The White Rabbit), CAP 10 HK (Captain Hook), L MERM8 (The Little Mermaid), 101 DLMN (101 Dalmatians), FAN T C (Fantasy), RS2CAT (Aristocat), ZPD2DA (Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah), and 3 LIL PIGS (Three Little Pigs)

I'm so very proud of this attraction.
Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin attraction ride just turned 29 years old today.
I remember this commercial when I was a kid. I actually thought that you got sprayed with dip but it never happen.
Me too. And I was afraid to get on for that reason.
@@JoseAndrade-ic7erI'm pretty sure dip only kills toons. So don't worry you would be safe.
I thought the same thing. It creeped me out; but then again, I was 7 when the ride opened.
Disney released Who Framed Roger Rabbit under a subsidiary studio called Touchstone because they were convinced the movie was going to bomb at the box office. I'm so happy this ride (and movie) exists!
Mickey’s Toon town is my favorite amusement and it so sad 🥺 the Jolly Trolley shut down.
Gotta love this attraction everyday at Disneyland.
Awesome commercial!
:)
I love Roger Rabbit!
What do Roger Rabbit and Cherami Leigh have in common?
35 years of pure cuteness.
Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin attraction ride is 29 years old now.
CONGRATS!!!
Jess Harnell voices Roger for the ride, fun fact
Glasolia2000 but I think Charles Fleischer does the voice in the commercial
I think Jess is my preferred voice since I was introduced to Roger by the theme parks. I didn’t watch the movie until recently. Not saying I don’t like Charles Fleischer
I heard a while back Jess Harnell does Roger for the parks, and I thought this whole time Charles Fleischer did Roger for EVERYTHING!!! Wow! That tells you how good my ears are
Yeah I thought 💭 Charles Fleischer reprise his role as Roger Rabbit in the ride Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin.
That's amazing, because Jess Harnell also voices Wooten Bassett -- one of my favorite characters from Adventures in Odyssey (an audio drama from Focus on the Family). I also recognized the voice-over on this ad as being Hal Smith, who voiced John Avery Whittaker for Adventures in Odyssey--besides being a Disney legend! 😊
Congratulations 👏👍💖🥳🌟✨🎈🎉🎊!!!
Great 1994 Disneyland Advertisement for the ROGER RABBIT RIDE! However, by the year 2000 an unfortunate accident did happen when a four year old boy had fallen off of his car seat and got seriously stocked inside the car machine below the track while he was screaming. His body was completely disfigured after he got rescued by his family and the Disney employees while the ROGER RABBIT RIDE was closed for sometime, luckily the boy survived, but sadly the boy died years later in 2009 while his body was still disfigured at a medical hospital. History lessons on safety inspections!
29 years!
Wow!!
It really has been 29 years since Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin attraction ride opened in Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland.
I really miss the old Disney commercials the best childhood memories of Disney. The 90s was the best time era best the early 2000s time era.
Glad we could fill that void. 😎
I love this commercial.
I actually remember this commercial from when I was 7 years old. I didn't even want to go on the ride back then but my parents forced onto it anyway that year (I enjoy the ride now as an adult). My mom even had me tell Roger Rabbit thank you at the end of the ride when he was using the Portable Hole to help get riders back to the station.
You know Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin opened a year after Mickey’s Toontown debut on January 26, 1994
I like the traditional Mickey's Toon Town wish they didn't change it, going to miss the old gag Factory shop and everything else too.
AWESOME!!
Back when Disney was really GOOD, on it’s peak years (the movies, TV shows, music, merchandise, parks and attractions, the characters…EVERYTHING!!!!)
