Like the design and content - for a coffee book table bible! I would like the same in a less expensive easier to carry version. C’mon Cambridge, a family heirloom bible shouldn’t be expensive!

This Bible is so big and bulky, the writing is just page after page of block text. No verse formatting, no break for the eye just chunks of text page after page. Meaning despite being beautiful the text layout makes it not a Bible you want to pick up to read. The Dore illustrations make this Bible, but a Bible that doesn’t make you want to pick up and read it is kind of a waste. My two cents.
A very useful insight. Thank you. The binding looks outstanding, but readability is so important. I am looking for a family Bible for my dad who just turned 90 and reads his Bible.
As Tim would tell you to get the the Adorned Bible from CSB with all the same Gustave Dore illustrations accompanied by a modern translation in a more portable size and save on the $$$ because Cambridge couldn’t be bothered to produce one in a standard bible size.
I like this one more than the first. I really love the classical look and the red accent on the spine. Truly incredible!
