you should try an unlimited booster box and get your feet wet. I recommend a box of the first set Welcome to Rathe or the 2nd set Arcane Rising.

I blew right past the cold foil I had in my box. Happened to run across it going back through and organizing things.
I just opened my first ToA booster box yesterday. Love the foils, even the commons are gorgeous.

So from watching Rudy's videos from past first editions, is it still considered rare I pulled two cold foils from one box? That with one foil majestic and six more majestic regulars. Cold foils were commons but still felt really lucky. Wasn't sure if the pull rates were easier with Tales or I got a great box. Thanks anyone!
Been opening some 1st edition ELE boxes as well and been having a blast! Going to a buddy's this weekend to build some decks with these cracked packs!

I like the clever foiling.
7:45 Had the same reaction when I saw the foiling on Heaven's Claws the first time. This set definitely made foils stand out in the best possible way (and even a couple weeks later, still haven't seen any major curling issues with the cards either).
Card is simply gorgeous.

How do i tell the rarity? It all looks the same to me except for the foil lol
The rarity is at the very bottom in the middle: commons are greyish, rares are blue, majestics are red, and legendaries are yellow.
ToA is really undervalued right now. You can get a box for 120 on ebay and pull a 200 cold foil out of it. Definitely buying a few to keep sealed

Came across your channel somehow yesterday and for some reason have been binge watching videos. Which is really odd since I do not play or collect cards of any type. I think I just figured out why I like your videos....it's because you somewhat remind me of Ricky from Trailer Park Boys whenever he has a business or life plan going lol. Only thing I don't like about FaB as a collector is the many duplicate arts for distinct cards with different pitch costs. Makes sense for the game ofc, but as a collector, it feels bad IMO.
For me as a collector its actually great. I have 3x3 Binders. (almost) every common/rare card has 3 Pitch values so you fill one row with these 3 which looks great
The art is a tad more pleasing to the eye, but now I miss the darkness.

This was my first FaB set and box opening and Rudy... It got me good. The art is absolutely beautiful! I even recorded myself opening the box and I got the Korshem card! It's really funny because I had no idea while recorded that it was a **500$** card!! Wtf bro! I just thought it was beautiful and the cold foiling was really sweet. I love this game and thank you for getting the word out to us about it. My only regret? Not taking the first step sooner.

This is the first time the art of FaB has actually stood out to me.
Not saying prior sets were terrible or anything..it was always just 'fine' or 'good' with the foiling leaving absolutely no impression on me. This time though. Looking real good. The colours pop and the foiling stands out in the best way you could hope for.
I'm personally old school in that I think foiling is best when it does NOT interfere with the art. Urza's Destiny foils or 7th edition foils for example.

Elemental is an interesting dynamic but it doesn't seem that it's OP. It seems that people are trying to utilize it properly. So far Lexi has made pretty solid headway in competition.
It's a damn good time to be a tcg collector. So many good games, and so many more coming. I'm looking forward to Zietgiest and Polywog. Zietgiest is the first solo and multiplayer tcg that I know of.

there is a colored dot at the bottom of the card that has the first letter of the cards rarity.
There's a little C/R/M/L/F on the bottom left hand corner of the card in a colored circle.

the fact commons can be cold foil sucks , dont even bother with 1st edition
I opened several cold foil commons that look amazing. Rags hat, the blue vest, as soon as i saw them i knew they would be worth money they look that good. .20 common, $12-16 for the cold foil. I think the value is low though. I ran about $60 on 4 boxes with one $90 card.
