  • I've been asked several times how I created the backgrounds you see in some of my ephemera, instead of linking to an old video I thought it was time to film a new tutorial on the technique with an element of testing involved.
    Hope you like it.

For some people, a cup of tea is all that is required to restore them to a positive frame of mind; for me, it is Ceri Griffiths demonstrating a new technique. 😊

Lol Ceri. I had to giggle when you said I’m British and can’t speak English very well. I feel the same as an American lol😂

What a great way to repurpose the huge box of old Manila file folders from my office days. Thx so much for your creativity

You made some gorgeous backgrounds, love them. Also love how generous you are to credit the people who inspire you. So many do not. Thank you, love your channel.

I do this with acrylic paints most often. I have done it with water color but it won't be as vibrant of course. I would do it with ink but that's not in my budget. Paints are less expensive by far. TFS Ceri, love to watch your videos. Hope you have a great day. 🌞

So fun to watch how you use the inks and paints for background. I will have to try it with the few inks I have.

Love this technique and Shanouki Art! We did a swap and make with her years ago and made altered cards! We should do that for one of the upcoming collabs 🤩

Thank you for this video. I am going to try this next so I can make a stash of background papers. I enjoy you always.❤

Another stunning technique. You are so entertaining whether giving ‘arty’ or ‘practical’ comments!

Thank you Ceri. As always you give some lovely, clear instructions with tons of wonderful tips along the way. I'm heading to the garage to pull out some file folders to give this a try! It's a treat to watch your videos. Sandi

This was awesome! The finished pages are beautiful! Adding that Aged Mahogany just made everything come together. You had, in the past, referred to Shanouki Art so I checked that out - you are so right - she, like you, makes wonderful art! TFS
