- On May 13, 2024, Cliff Douglas (President and CEO of Global Action to End Smoking) was joined by Dr. Leighton Ku (Milken Institute School of Public Health, George Washington University) and Dr. Anthony Salandy (National Harm Reduction Coalition) for an insightful discussion on new opportunities in tobacco control and public health. The conversation was moderated by Kenneth Moton, co-anchor of Washington, D.C.’s Fox 5 News.
The panel explored innovative strategies to support people who smoke in their efforts to quit or switch to reduced-risk products, including educating them and their health care providers. Cliff also announced big changes, including relaunching our organization as Global Action to End Smoking, a name that powerfully represents our more action-oriented approach to saving lives and reflects the overwhelming scientific consensus that to end the "tobacco" epidemic, we must end smoking.
Watch now to learn more about the future of tobacco control and how we can eliminate and minimize risk for millions of people who smoke.
