I recently purchased a Openroad 6000 lb. ATV/UTV winch, It came factory wired with # 6 AWG stranded copper wire and only has lugs large enough to accept this size wire. The specification chart with the installation manual lists the current rating at 65-203 amps depending on the line pull in lbs. My question is that #6 AWG copper stranded wire's max current carrying capability is 50 amps. So is this configuration safe to use or am I not looking at this correctly. I would appreciate your feed back. Thank you.

O.K. Answered my own question, wire used on winches is welding cable, which carries a my higher amperage than normal THHN wire.
