Just having a Nomad is amazing these days---but having 4? AND 2 of the best year. AND a '55 Convertible? PRICELESS!!! You are living the dream that you have worked your ass off for. Keep up the good work as long as you can.

Don, all i can say man is: Another awesome addition to your collection. Your old school nomads are truly amazing my friend. Glad your were able to get it back. An get it back home where it belongs. An your brother didn't let go to someone else for little as nothing. I can't tell you how many, friends an my own family members have let really nice rides go to another home instead of mine for basically no money at all. I'm so glad your brother asked you to come an get it. Good brother. About 7 years ago i got one of my brothers his dream car for his birthday. A 72' maverick grabber. Bucket seats, console, 4 speed an cragers. An it had the old 67 cougar tail lights, 302 with Cleveland heads holley 750 dual line,. Very strong motor. It was Canary yellow with black interior. Tinted windows. An about 2 years ago, he let it go for nothing pretty much. Sad but it happens. Once again another amazing Nomad is at home in the right place an right hands. Have an Awesome weekend my friend. An we will catch you on your next video. 😁👍👍
Omad! 😂. Cool update Don, excited for you to have it home. You aint kidding about the rain when stuff going on either. Same drout here, as soon as I order sheetmetal, it gets dropped off in down pours. Wet cardboard aint fun LOL. Take care bud
Hey BW! Yeah man im so happy to have the 56 home. Now I just need to find some dry storage so we can get back to nice weather. Crazy how the rain will come in when you have something to do outside! Have a good one Buddy 👍
Don! That 56 is very nice!! Great shape too, it looks even better with Cragars on! You say you hope to have it running by this weekend? Have a Happy Father's Day
I luv. These old cars i have 1968 camaro conv. If i dont start that car every week its like i havent started it in a year they all have their own. personalities. Some. Good n some alittle not so good. Luv it man keep those tri fives running
That’s a pretty sweet ride Don! It’s nice that it’s a runner and pretty complete, just a few odds and ends and you’ll be cruising! Nice colour combination too! Have a great day !
Sweat Bud ,oh yeah cragers and Keystone's got to love them. Sounds great for sure, Don't know but I have had problems in the rear end of a Camaro and Monte Carlo with the spider gear pin coming loose and making a noise or locking it up. Glad for you Bud for sure 👍
Hey Big Don, I was getting tickled to hear the excitement in your voice. I am so happy for you, and glad your bro turned it over to you. I can't wait 'til you start doing some things to it and possibly take us on a cruise. That would be awesome! Have a good one buddy.
Thanks Jim! Yes I'm very happy to have it back home. You'll be going with me on a drive and as I find out what's going on with the rearend! Have a good one Buddy 👍
Snagged a black 57 Nomad in 1981 from the owner of the sign company that did my signs. Paid 6k and only work I had to do was tighten upolstry.. I found out years later from the previous owners son that it was factory original and had plastic seat covers up until I purchased it. 2012 made the down payment on a new home build. Still have the 56 150 utility that Pacific Bell used to deliver phone books to our home .
Don u got your hands full your so lucky u have the the most awesome cars anyone would love u will figure out whats. Making the noise and have it ready for the weekend hope no rain i've been getting it too talk to u soon
The 56 with it's history is sweet. Make a reliable driver that you can enjoy while working on the convertible. I like all your Nomads but parting with the 55 gasser makes the most sense if something has to go.
Sounds awesome, Cragers are the best wheel choice going or aluminum slots #2. Wonder what’s going on with the rear, maybe you lost a spider or the cross shaft is moving. I already had the bolts work their way out of the carrier and the ring gear was moving around. Keep us posted on this. Another cool ride brother!🇺🇸
Man Don such a cool car. I know you got to be happy to have it. I love it. Such a awesome collection. You can be proud of those. Take it easy buddy ✌️😎👍
That is a beautiful 56 nomad man I'd love to have a nomad but would be happy with any solid tri 5 I missed 2 that were local that came up for sale a 55 x show car and a 57 150 model I just need to hold on to my money and be patient. ThNks for thevideo
Nice car, nice collection. A couple things not just a Nomad thing I noticed was the keyless ignition switch, I haven't had one of those since my 64 Chevelle and the other was that reverse was all the way down. I had a few hydros like that but I forgot the tough old powerglide was like that too. I wonder why they ever changed it from that location? It makes as much sense as taking the dimmer switch off the floor. Someones better idea that wasn't. Thanks for the look around and the memories.
Don, that car is a gem. I just don't know where you are going to put it. I love all you Tri-5s and Nomads. It's a treat to watch your videos and see the improvements you make on them from time to time.
I'm envious Don. You've got all 3 of my favorite Tri 5 Chevy's in your garage. My very first car was a 56 Chevy 210 2 door post car and I loved it!!! Unfortunately I was forced to sell it way back in 81 and I have been wanting to get another one since. I really love your collection there!! And that 56 with the Cragers is old school cool brother.
Ahhhhh yes a 331punched 327. Does it have and old cast iron glide still? Just finished my first long 600 mile run up north with my new fresh 327/ 331 to pick up a 12 bolt Posi rear drum to drum with 355s for my 70 Chevelle 4 door. Car is set up with this new 67 Vette 327/331 & 700-R4 that is already in it, and now completely seated molly rings. The 12 bolt posi I just picked up & will soon be going in as well. The post 4 door 70 Chevelle has factory SS bucket seats & console & shifter out of a 70 SS 396 and full set of SS round gages dash assembly plus tilt wheel & 3 spoke factory 69 Vette wood wheel. Kind of different for a 4 door but the idea is to make it low key and look like a common old post taxi on the outside but have all the good stuff inside so it will not be so likely to stolen out of a damn Walmart Parking lot as it's a daily driver. Today, there is no WAY to keep a two door Chevelle from being stolen anymore, but a plain jane taxi post 4 door with tinted glass, hell nobody will steal that as I have set it up with a totally quiet exhaust with stainless shorty headers, going to 2-1/4" pipes & free flowing super quiet Boarla touring mufflers and tiny 2 inch tail pipes with 1-7/8s tips cut off short so you can't see the car has duals under it all the way out the back . Oh yeah, you learn quick with some of these small towns the cops down south (Law Dogs) are ALL OVER loud, out of state Hot Rods as that's a paycheck for the town, but a very quiet 4 door post family taxi ------ not as bad. Got to use your head anymore to stay out of harm's way. Oh sure, you know I got a bunch of other flash bang muscle cars * Trailer queens. but you got to have a daily that will keep all them varmints off your tail as well. But there is NO REASON why anybody HAS to have a new computer controlled shit box as a daily eith. P/S I got 21MPG out of the new 327 with the 700-R4 with 308 ten bolt rear gears on the 600 mile trip. As per your rear, Mosuer sells a brand NEW 60 Dana complete to go right under the Nomad------ but take a bigger Morgage on the house !!!!! LOL I searched 8 years to find this12 bolt posi as they been getting $2,500.00 used, plus shipping for 68 to 72 twelve bolt posi rear. I got this one for $1,700.00 and had to go pick it up. The pisser is----- I use to buy used 12 bolt posi rears for $150.00 local
Wow Don! The tri-five tri-fecta! All three years of the Nomad! I only know of one other guy who did that! As far as a great solid and complete runner, that '56 is the mother load! It is amazing to have them all but, tough when you don't have the space for them all and the pressure to send something down the road! I know you will work it out and still have some great cars that you all will enjoy! Hopefully, you can swap the pumpkin and be driving it this weekend! I would definitely get the family out taking turns driving that '56, maybe you can get them hooked and enjoying the cars too! Take care and keep up the great work!
Hey Jeff! Yeah it's neat to see all the years of Tri5 Nomads! My daughters grew up riding in the back of this Nomad. It will be fun to ride in it again! I don't want to sell any cars and don't need to sell any. Just have to find a safe spot i can trust them out of my sight! Things like to disappear when your not watching! Have a good one Buddy 👍
56 nomad is nicer in my opinion than 57. 55 is nice too but it’s 56 Is nicer. Btw, your tail light that is loose, I had the same problem. I Just locked it in place then add clear silicone around the area. Let it cure for a day and the connection will not come loose and your light should stay steady. Works for my 57 chevy rag top.
Thanks Man! I do agree the 56 Nomad is the most beautiful of all 3 years. I have replaced the bad tail light housing with a good one but will use your truck next time. Have a good one Buddy 👍
Hi Don , that's a real nice 56, I'm glad that you are showing us it. The 56 is my favorite of all the trifives. I hope that you will find space to keep everything dry. I'm hoping that you can drive the convertible by the end of the summer 🙂🏁
Hey buddy I’m building a 56 sedan I got me some fender birds I seen u have them on your beautiful nomad can u tell me how far back they are from the headlights. I’m from northern ky. Glad your videos keep them up hopefully to see u at the nationals
The caps are probably bad in the radio. The old electrolytic caps dry out, then short out. You definitely have a hoarding problem, but that's okay. You really have a lack of space problem.

Just , Friggin Sweet Don
Tri 5's Nomads are the coolest
I agree Peter! There awesome cars all of them.

You definitely have a hoarding problem, but that's okay. You really have a lack of space problem.
Too many tri-five Chevys is never a problem
