    I love my Predator Strider's! I have several other pairs of Nick's/White's/JK's and the Striders are definitely special!

      They're the hidden gem in Nicks line up!

    This is one of the best reviews I’ve seen so far on these boots. I may purchase a pair for myself now. Thanks!

    Nails happen because they are nails. Currently waiting 7-8 months for my second pair of Bounty hunters.
    ABC Mart is a hands off owner of White's.
    Thinking of picking up a pair of Aldert Striders.

      I appreciate Nicks attention to detail. They QC for nails and hammer them in so your heel doesn’t feel them.

      @@tommietuka Nails coming through isn't really uncommon TBH. Nicks has the same issue, no biggy. When you stack that much leather together with nails, as you mold the leather to your foot they can poke through.

    Cool boots! Rule of thumb is to fully break in your boots before oiling them, oiling pre break in can get them feeling sloppy.

    • @tommietuka
      @tommietuka  Před 2 lety +2

      Interesting! I find the mink oil helps the break in, especially with the stiffer work leather.

    The laces give it that traditional work boot look as opposed to the leather laces that are included. Good looking boot.

    I'm sure you've already taken care of the nail and insole issues. However, if not, just take a short piece of rebar and pound the nails down yourself, just like Nicks does and they show in their videos. Also, just some Barge all purpose cement to re-glue the insole (Also suggested by Nicks). Good review, thank you. It was nice to get a "time lapse" review in one post and many good thoughts.

    • @tommietuka
      @tommietuka  Před rokem +1

      Yep! That’s exactly what I did to resolve the issue. And I’m glad you found the review helpful.

    Dude! Nice video, I have stopped buying whites along time ago. I had that same nail problem in three of my whites, let alone blisters at heel counter. I only by nicks when I need a good pair of work boots know. Hands down nicks is better then whites. I’m not afraid to say it😃👍

      @tommietuka  Před 2 lety

      100% agreed. It's a mistake I won't repeat. I'm surprised you gave them 3 chances!

      @@tommietuka yeah they have great looking and cool looking boots. But they tear up my feet. I had Bounty Hunter’s I’ve had the perry boots moc . And 8 inch waterproof boots all horrible on my feet. Nicks I have Americana’s and 1964 outlander’s for work. On a different level know😅 just better I think, and no more pain with my nicks.

    Nice review. I got my predator orange aldert strider in a few days ago. Very well made. Break-in might take awhile

      @tommietuka  Před 2 lety +2

      My next Nicks are going to be in predator orange. That pull up is gorgeous! Try some mink oil to ease the break in. I've done that trick with all my boots.

    Nice. Curious about the soles and how long they last.& Is one color longer lasting than another?& the arch. You recommend going with the high arch & you can adjust to lower if needed somehow??hows that work. Thanks.

    • @tommietuka
      @tommietuka  Před rokem

      Nicks offers a try on process (you pay for shipping). I tried on the higher arch ones to get a feel and thought it was too much support so went with the moderate arch. Sizing is the same.

    • @tommietuka
      @tommietuka  Před 2 lety +1

      Smooth work tan leather. They have the 1964 in tan now. That leather is more supple for an easier break in. Next pair of Nicks I'm going that route

      @@omonteso the link said any size you want. $10. It’s 500 paracord with a brass cap. I use paracord for a lot of things. Depending on the use , I may remove a strand of 2 from inside. Remove them all for some stuff I need to lay flat. I burn & knot the ends but if you want metal crimped on the ends,should be easy enough to make.just a thought.
