Marie, it's awesome to see your reactions to things we all take for granted, like coyotes. They're useful creatures, though they also have a habit of eating pets, so many people dislike them. The safari park is amazing, and it's always enjoyable seeing what you focus on, and what you don't. I agree that it's a great idea for you to comment on your videos as you put them out because it makes the entire video more immersive. Thanks for bringing us all along. Keep smiling! 😃

One of the best things about San Diego County is we have great beaches, scuba diving, terrific zoos, mountains that get snow in the winter, and a beautiful desert on the East side of the mountains. I took a German visitor out to see the desert in bloom, and I spotted a tarantula next to the road. She totally freaked out when I let it walk across my hand!

Coyotes live in the tons of canyons we have everywhere and are extremely adaptable - they do fine. Like the skunks, raccoons, and possums i see a lot of here in Point Loma (1mile from Ocean Beach, which is on the other side of the San Diego River from Mission and Pacific Beaches, where you were at). Balboa Park is a must if you come again, it's by the Zoo. My dad was stationed here in the late 50s-early 60s for the Navy, and decided he never wanted to shovel the white stuff in Northeast Washington State ever again so he stayed. Glad you enjoyed our town!

Little Italy is a wonderful area to find great Italian food and Pizza (as is Old Town for a lot of Mexican restaurants the Barrio Logan area is also famous for it's excellent Mexican food). As others have mentioned, Bronx Pizza is also outstanding, and one of my favorites is Pizzaria Luigi.
Since San Diego is networked with canyons, there can be a lot of wildlife turning up in urban and suburban areas. I live in an area not all that far from downtown, and a couple weeks ago, I saw a coyote crossing the street in front of my car in broad daylight! Mostly, though, I've seen skunks, possum, and a few raccoons.

Thanks for the video Marie! I moved to Escondido CA, 30 miles north of San Diego, in 1968, 4 years before the Wild Animal Park was built. Got to watch it being built and of course, went thru it when it 1st opened. Fun fact, when the park 1st opened you could actually drive thru the park and watch all the animals up close in your car. But for security reasons, a few incidents with the animals happened, they had to stop that part of it, but still a great place to visit. Then moved to San Diego right across from the zoo in Balboa Park and went there often as well. Pretty fortunate now that I think about it, I was young man then and didn’t appreciate what I had!

Thanks for these nice home movies of your experiences. I think the San Diego safari experiment was used by wild animal parks around the country. Congratulations on your coyote. Their range is pretty much coast to coast and well past border to border. Here in the Midwest hinterland, they are quite abundant. They are seldom seen yet often heard partying all hours of the night. They have a role in a number of deer/vehicle interactions. During the COVID unpleasantness, they were seen venturing into many cities. Still, most people have never and will never see them in the wild. Again, thanks for sharing, Marie. Wishing you continued safe travels.

The Safari Park was one of my favorite places. And, though I was only in San Diego for 4 years and it was 30 years ago, I still miss the food. You got a much better look at the Cassowary than I've ever gotten even though I've been there many times. The Condor breeding program is amazing. A couple decades ago, they were almost extinct, and they've successfully bred enough of them to reintroduce enough into the wild to have successful breeding pairs back out in nature.

Hi Marie! This is another amazing and fun San Diego Marie Adventure 😍😮! I loved your scenic hotel balcony view to start, and the drive, with archways and terraced hills was very pretty to get to Safari Park in Escondido ( my mom lived there 😊). This is such a wonderful animal park, and I love your dual pose in front of the entrance ☺. That flowing water was pretty to start, along with the big hippo sculpture, as well as the gazelle, the big Skull💀, the crazy fuzzy topped bird, and the storks and ducks! 2,000,000 visitors each year is an amazing total, but it is deserved. You looked good on top of the rhino sculpture, lol. And then the little chicks were so cute, right before the weird Okapi (zebra giraffe I do not remember seeing). It took me back seeing how beautiful the natural grounds of this park are, and you know, I do not think I have ever seen a Pumba!! The Marabou Stork was handsome, and the gorilla measurements are huge (you muscles are pretty strong already 😉). The Tiger Trail sounds awesome, and I never knew that dogs and cheetahs were friendly to each other 😵☺. I almost did not even see that cheetah beneath the tree, and then the rhinos - YES, this park has so very much space, and I know the animals love having plenty of room to roam. They even make sure they recycle to water for the park animals. That balloon was pretty big, and very nice. You showed owls too, along with different types of goats I have not seen, and of course the big vulture and its wide wing span is quite imposing 😮❗(You look like you found a delicious ice cream cone on that sunny day too 💕, right before you filmed the beautiful yellow/orange flowers). The storks were having fun in their pond, and then the kangaroos - YAY! And, of course, we got to see a sweet Marie pose between the metal likenesses. The three black/yellow-striped clothes dancers were an interesting diversion (and naturally you spotted the red Mustang, and with the V-formation birds flying overhead) ❤. Yay for Marie to get to wade in the vast Pacific Ocean at San Diego - what relaxing fun 🤗🤗! I did not know you could draw and write so well with your left foot Marie 🤣😃!! That kite was different, and the mburguesas looked pretty good to me. The movie theatre was really nice, with the pizza and flavored Dr. Pepper, and the cool movies of old posters too, along with the always tasty popcorn! Dungeons and Dragons huh?? I've not seen that one, but the theatre also boasted those comfy seats/tables for viewers! I know you enjoyed Little Italy and wow - barbeque chicken is delicious! You got to see a coyote finally Marie - there are so many of them in the woods behind my house here in Austin! What a special treat getting to see and listen to you talk to us for awhile about the trip and your adventure ❤❤! Please take care 🙏🙏🥰🥰 on your travels while enjoying them, and thank you so much for a special video look at San Diego's Safari Park 😍❣

I hope you get a chance to get out of the big cities and see some of the wilder areas of the country. Enjoy your stay.

Bonjour Marie! I also saw Dungeons and Dragons in the theater and it was great fun, loved it, highly recommend! Yeah, some theaters have reclining seats, some have heaters in them, some have both, some have semi private 2 seaters with tables on each side and even a hook to hang a coat on! Some theaters will have the staff bring your food order to you in your seat! If theaters in France don't have these amenities, maybe if the ones there fail then one or more of these American companies could open there and blow the French people away...although I heard US investment in France is not always well received. But hey, maybe an American theater company could partner with a French company and make theaters like the one you went to in SD. Hope you are well! Bonne journee! ~Be Blessed

I was born and raised in San Diego. Weather, Balboa Park, our Zoo are just a few places you can visit. Beaches, mountains, downtown…enjoy.

Love the Wild Animal park! We did the safari ride and fed the giraffes when we were there. It’s been a few years. Glad your enjoying it so far. 💕

Nice Video you should have gone to La Jolla shores Beach. Nice to see you went to the Safari Park in North County and that you were here during good weather. Always fun to see Dead Body Bridge too.

Glad you are enjoying my home town. I noticed your (American) English accent has dramatically improved from your early videos. Very impressive!

The redwoods along the northern coasts tend to be smaller in girth than the giants in Central California, but still very tall. Muir woods, Yosemite and other parks should be next.

Kinda weird for me to see you walking around areas that are where me and my kids spend so much time--Pacific Beach, Mission Beach. But so glad you had a good time and you chose a good time to visit--before all of the crowds show up. The other best time is August/September--the water is still warm--much warmer than April.
