    The dental world is small, don't burn any bridges even if you never plan to work with someone again, be as professional as possible about exiting a job or relationship with a dental person bc once you're in it long enough people all kind of know each other in some way.

    I am surprised it is difficult to find patients since dental insurance is often not included with regular health insurance so a lot of people have trouble paying for dental care.

    I wish I knew RDH don't have recerprocity the way nurses do. You have to have a license per state and regional exam like WREB SERTA, NERB to name a few. Most dental offices have no 401K, medical insurance or any real benefits with pay. If the dentist doesn't work, you may not work either. Every license has to be renewed annually or so. Out of pocket cost for CEs per state. Getting bitten, thrown up on and smelling really bad breath all day. I can pick up perio in an elevator when someone exhales. I have 3 state licenses which is $600 every 2 years plus CEs and loops. It adds up quickly!

    Hello there I was just wondering whether is it normal for my front tooth to move very slightly,I can feel it when I place a finger in there and tap with another tooth but can’t feel it move with my tongue or can’t see it in the mirror,Is this normal or should I be worried and contact my dentist?

    • @jessicaheadstream497
      @jessicaheadstream497 Před 2 měsíci +1

      If you are clenching or grinding this may be why the tooth is moving. It may also be the way your teeth come together when you bite down. You may hit a specific tooth harder then other when biting together. Their are hair like ligaments called Periodontal ligaments that attach your teeth into your jaw bone. Hitting a tooth hard when biting together, biting fingers nails, or clenching can stretch these teeth ligaments out. Bring this subject to your dentist attention. Have it checked. Stretched out Periodontal ligaments can also tighten up, so don't stress to much. It's best brought to your dental professionals attention. It could be gum disease so best to have your dentist check and evaluate.

      @bridgetscotney8837 Před 3 měsíci +1

      It's important to remove calculus buid up on your teeth regularly and if it continues to form in the same place make sure you are brushing correctly with an electric toothbrush toothbrush and floss every day x

    Taking the prerequisites right now and having second thoughts due to job security... If greedy dentist don't want to pay hygienist anymore, can't they just do the cleanings themselves instead? Having second thoughts because of job security...

      One good thing about being a RDH, you can e work 1 day a month or full time. People really make or break this profession when it comes to burn out. During the "great recession " i was still able to work as a RDH while my husband was unemployed for almost 2 years. The average RDH career is 7 years before physical and emotional burn out happen.
