This is a desk top fan I took it from an old poultry farm. This machine has not been used for many years so it is very old and crumbling.All details are rust and dust so restoration takes a lot of time and effort .

Repair the coil is tricky
I am really appreciating the restoration videos where people don't have all the fancy gadgets. This at least give a diy'er hope to restoring things, too. Thanks.
There is one with on older Asian Man that hand saws all his wood with perfect precision. And a young Chinese lady that fixes small engines

I'm in the Philippines right now and my mother-in-law has a whole bunch of these types of fans. The people here never throw anything out and use it till its last breath. And even then find some way to keep things running. They are very inventive here. But usually no restorations going on like this. Great video. We need your help with all the fans here. Free vacation, but your gonna have to work. Lol.

Super video very interesting to see love from india
The key to the fan is its motor. I’m amazed how this motor didn’t suffer too much of a damage and its coil just needed simply joining wires together to gain back its continuity. In several worse cases I encountered, the winded coil would have to be severely shorted, grounded or broken, requiring complete replacement or rewinding. I should know since I also tried restoring old fans before. Good productive job! 👍
You are the ultimate recycler, great that you are bringing back the days when we actually repaired stuff. Fixing things when most ppl would throw away as rubbish.
They throw it away because a new fan can be purchased by a measly few dollars.

As a parent I never asked my daughters to come at the top of the class, I asked them to do the best they could. Of course there’s people with lathes, 3 different bench grinders and buffers etc who could do better, but would they have put more effort in?
However, I think you could have got a bit of sandpaper to that rusty parts of the electrics. That is the only place you let yourself down in my opinion. But that doesn’t make the entire project poor, as someone else said you got a piece of rubbish and saved from landfill.

Felicidades, tienes un valor maravilloso con la eficiencia que lo manejas y muestras todo; yo mismo no podría siquiera competir en éllo. Sin embargo, noté un par de detalles que no fueron de mi agrado, que me ponen a pesar de mí la vergonzosa frase tristemente ya patriarizada: "Ha de ser mexicano...", y lo digo porque hubo ciertas láminas de aluminio o metal, que preferiste pintar incluso ya armando con los componentes apenas el "cascarón", y esto me recordó tantísimos otros videos similares donde, generalmente las restauran, y quienes más me han sorprendido, las pulen y libran absolutamente de cualquier resto de óxido, sea como fuere, pieza por pieza. No dejo de reconocer tu gran esfuerzo y trabajo, sólo es unnpunto de vista personal que llamó mi atención y quize compartir. Gracias por la atención.
