The fact that Donald gets sent off in the Spear of Selene, makes me confident that the story of the Moon People is far from done.
I am from the future. And yeah, it wasn’t.
I've been wondering for a long time how they would handle so many reunions at once. She has to reunite with Scrooge, meet her kids, and on top of that, her twin brother. I was super sad (and freaking out) when Donald got yeeted into space, but that means the Duck Twins will have a reunion all their own. Scrooge and the boys got some breathing room, and now there's even more build-up to Donald and Della finally seeing each other again.
Poor Dewey, you called him Louie.
Hue, Louie.... the Other one...
@@Hopalongtom *the third one
@@TimelostInTheSauce No, no, It's a reference to the first episode. Scrooge called Dewey "the other one."
@@krealyesitisbeta5642 he Said the 3rd one not the other one
Lol, I can see him making the same face as in The Most Deadly Game...Night.^^
"Hey, Della, how did you get back 'ere anyway?"
"THE SPEAR OF SELINE!!!"
"Oh, of course, ah'think you even mentioned it, silly m--"
"NO, I MEAN YES, BUT I MEAN: I FORGOT ABOUT IT!!"
What?
@@sammcmc9888 I mean as far as she knew, she just left her spaceship in the middle of a field.
as a new mom, the reunion made me bawl! i LOVE this new angle
Every episode these two weeks have been lit. Favorite cartoon series of 2019.
It only few good episode...
Antonio Hernandez no, best Disney XD show EVER
3:36 dewey. “Sorry Louie would have wanted me to nitpick there.”
Dewey would be deeply offended by him not getting his name right
I think it's amazing how you light up the brilliance of the show.
I agree that it's kind of sad about Donald but it's also really cool that penny would actually get a chance to meet him so fast
Maybe she'll help him get back home.
You exactly resume what I feel and think about this episode. It's my favorite episode of all the show !
I really love Donald and I'm gonna miss him.
It's really sad because Donald seem to be so happy to maybe see Della. See him screaming his twin's name and miss her is kinda... painful ?
With any luck, he'll be back to warn his family about the coming moon invasion (perhaps accompanied by Penumbra).
I love BOTH Donald and Della now.
I can only imagine your thoughts on the episode that stared Darkwing Duck. Nice video still.
Spoiler:
Negaduck rises!
Fun fact: don rosa did try to write a story in which the triplets and Donald were an search trying to locate HDL's Missing parents but The idea was abandoned because he couldn't figure out a satisfying conclusion. either the parents had to be alive which would force Donald to say goodbye to his nephews and hand them over to Della or reveal That she had died or depict her as a negligent mother who didn't want her kids back which would arguably be too dark for Disney.
3:20 I think that makes us empathize more with the kids. Like the kids, we've always wondered why they lived with their uncle and not their parents but no one ever told us. And now everyone is talking about this person who's supposed to be very important but she's new to us. Just like the kids. And, secretly, we've always wanted her with us because everyone spent years complaining about the triplets and Donald and now we finally have her and it's both satisfying and unfamiliar.
Good thing about Penumbra was that it was nice to hear SheGo's voice again.
My god if the ending was heartbreaking 😭😭😭😭
I'm so sad for Donald, HE NEEDS TO BE BACK!!
Fabrizio Silveri When in trouble you call D-onald! Donald Duck!
@@DigiRangerScott Let's get dangerous!
The writters are going full American Tail on us. I wonder how long we'll have to wait until we see the entire family being reunited
My money's on the season finale
Never. Donald get zapped on the moon by Penny, Launchpad goes to Darkwing Duck, Lena gets put back in the amulet by Magica who then blows up the vault, leaving Glomgold to win of whats left of McDuck Enterprizes. Sorry it ends so sad.
I can imagine Donald and Della singing "Somewhere Out There." Although, they might have to change the lyrics a bit since, you know, one of them is stuck on the moon.
Actually, Della Duck did exist in some shape or form before DuckTales 2017, in the Disney Duck comics. Many of the attributes made to DuckTales!Della, like her being a pilot and blasting off to space, can be attributed to the comics.
I've covered her short comics history in several of my other videos, and while that's definitely the foundation of the character, that's not that I meant. She didn't exist in the context of this story or these characters. There was no one to "miss." For readers. It's not like this show was "missing" a character we knew and loved -- so it effectively had to make is care about a "new" character as of she'd always been an essential part of the DuckTales cast. I think it did a great job.
I'm just wondering when the others are gonna notice that Donald is gone
Denime either
1. When he's gone longer than the vacation
Or
2. Too late
All this time she should have shown everyone where the Spear of Seline was 'parked'... only to find it gone.
it was too late.
I’m pretty sure (about 89%) Webby called Donald “Uncle Donald” in this episode.
She did. It was awesome.
Calling an unrelated paternal figure “uncle” is common in American culture.
@@Quincy_Morris True, but usually only among people you consider family, even if they're not related blood.
The creator is such a Monster
1. Devastating Season 1 finale
2. Lena being forgotten since Season 1 finale, TIL FHM!
3. Della never got to spend Christmas with her boys
4. Donald never got to finally see his Long-lost twin Sister
Nothing can be sunshine and rainbows, Bus Fetish
@@Mr.Z2311 🤣
Don't worry, Lena's limelight is on the horizon.
I hope Darkwing Duck plays a part in the fight against the Moon people. They took the time to establish him as a real hero and it would be great if he came back and fought side by side Gizmoduck.
The end of this episode is devastating especially since I immediately was made to think they write Donald off the show. Not quite but they gave an excuse to limit his screen time and having to try to understand his voice.
DEWEY, not Louie. He was the one searching.
I was just about to make that comment. This is my first time watching this video.
Bluey. The third one.
Darkwing Duck back in a big and lasting way, cant wait for you to catch up.
that ending . . . I was mad because Donald been waiting for Dally the most. I mean that is his twin and his only sister. Someone he spent days and night with. Only to miss her because of his bad luck wasn't fair. It is a bittersweet ending.
HObbess1989 Yes , Donald din’t deserve this.
I love your videos and takes on this show, I just wish you wouldn't hold back on anything the way you did when you first started this series. Your analyses and knowledge of the the history, lore and general criticism is beyond anything I can ever write. Keep it up, bro! This show and you are bringing back so many childhood memories.
(Background: As a kid my Mom got me a bunch of Disney Comics in Spanish from Peru so that I could practice the language. I fell in love with them and seeked them out in English, which coincided with the original show on TV)
I was surprised by Lunaris(the blue male alien) being evil all along and planning an alien invasion to Earth. That's gonna be some epic season finale.
Hey sean around 3:45 it's dewey not Louie who was going behind their backs and researching it
It would be interesting to see that story instead of if it was Dewey, in a parallel universe...
3:36 is the right time
I thought he said Bluey
@@cipherquest3024 so did I
@@cipherquest3024 Me to.
Now I have to wonder If we'll see Quackmore and Hortense.
And Della pulled a Flight of the Phoenix!
To me, it's partially not worth to have della back if we lose donald in the process. Sure it's really great to have della back but it come at the cost of the best character of ducktales
For now, Ducktales 2017-2019-???? is amazing.
And the reboot is better than the original.
The reboot makes some characters so much better like Fenton, Magica, Duckworth, Beakley, Wenby, Glomgold (lol, his name is Mac Moneysack in my land germany) or even the new Gyro.
They added so much new characters amazing characters like Lena, Mark Beaks, Della Duck, Violet, Jim Starling Negaduck, Darkwing Duck, Storkules, Selene, so much more.
I forget who Violent and Selene are. Could you please remind me? Also I'd like to add Gandra D to the list of characters this show improves on (I personally disagree about Fenton, Magica and Duckworth, though. The former two don't strike me as much different from their original counterparts and there's not much to Duckworth in either show).
3:35 exsqueeze me
Bluey?
*COUGH*
They are seriously on an epic roll every single episode after the hiatus has been a consistent hit after hit
As of the episode the duck knight returns basically answers the second greatest question how does dark wing duck fit into the ducktales universe.
I really hope Donald becomes the Duck Avenger while in space.
I hold you fully responsible for introducing me to Della, I had these vids on in the background before I dove deep into the show, but these were my first intro into Della. And now she is not only my fav character, but I have gone deeeep into the Duckblur. I hold you responsible sir.
I can't wait to see your review of the darkwing episode!!
Donald landing on the moon pissed me off to an extent of where I have no words for how mad I was
Three major duck returns in two weeks!
Della
Lena
Darkwing Duck???
Cannabis Hornliu I guess 4. Negaduck
@@DigiRangerScott
Yes! :-)
God, The Duck Knight Returns was amazing!
I'm sad you skipped the part that Della made a HUGE impact on penumbra and she warms up to her!
Technically she's been on the moon for 11 years because Flintheart Glomgold used Gyro's time stopper and accidentally stopped time for 12 months. Also I Hope whenever they decide to bring back Goof Troop I want to know who Max's mom is.
I'd assume it's more of him stopping time for twelve months from his timeframe, and Della was timestopped too.
These reviews/analyses just get better and better. Great work!
I had mixed feelings about the last scene as well. When I was watching it, I was just like: Oh shit no. Disney you did _not_ just do that!
Also Donald has been having _really_ bad luck lately, and that just topped it off. At least we somewhat see him in the next Della episode, and it wasn't just an excuse to not write him like when he got stuck in the freaking cupboard. But on the other hand, his family thinks he's just on vacation and knows nothing of this.
Also was that moment of mistaking Louie for Dewy intentional given Dewy's story arch from the second part of the first episode (season 1) or...? lol Just thought it was funny.
well get ready for the waterworks next episode.....
This is hands-down one of my favorite episodes of Season 2. Seeing Della interact with the other Moon natives was fascinating and Donald's subplot was entertaining, especially with the "Evil Dead" reference. Not to mention the twists in the third act huge surprises. I just hope we get some episodes with Donald on the moon, and not have to wait until the season finale to see him again.
"If you haven't seen these episodes yet, Stop! Don't watch this video." Me: I'm gonna watch this whether or not x3
i was so sad for donald! alright the kids but HE IS YOUR GOD DAMN TWIN! you grown up togheter! but half of the fans are like "yay she's finally seeing her kids" and i'm like "they know her just from stories, she's more kinda the cool aunt more than the parent basically donald and della had switched their roles once she had taken the spear of selene, i mean alright donald is overprotective he's full of bad luck and problems but the kids to me seem happy, they are not bullied they are all great and donald just want to keep them safe, but yeah let's just celebrate the girl who taught it was a good idea GOING IN SPACE BEFORE HER STUPID EGGS HATCHED."
now is not that i hate della or anything but... to me it seems that the twins grown up with scrooge and it's a lil obvious (or at least for what the show had make me seen) that in some way McDuck prefers Della, just because they are so similar while donald just want live a safe life
again this is what i got from watching the series and i love this series but della to me seems a person who look for danger just for the sake of making scrooge or herself proud/happy (for example that christmas episode where she wanted to capture santa)
this was just my idea, please don't kill me
also i'm open to discuss this (dunno how much i will ever change my idea but i'm open)
I agree I'm kind of frustrated that they haven't noticed that Donald is gone
@@denime2727 i mean okay that for them he is on vacation but good lord they should have at least TRIED to contact the poor guy
I won't kill you XD but I want to give my thought on this "but half of the fans are like "yay she's finally seeing her kids" look I love Donald and he is a great uncle/father figure but Della is still their mom roles don't switch like that so why ain't I allowed to be happy she reuniting with her family? and "she's more kinda the cool aunt more than the parent" sorry are parents suppose to be boring and overprotective? bit insulting since Donald has his "cool uncle moments" also he let the kids go on danger adventures which run in the family. "but yeah let's just celebrate the girl who taught it was a good idea GOING IN SPACE BEFORE HER STUPID EGGS HATCHED." we seen how much she regretted it and worked hard to return but no 1 mistake deserve separatation from her family forever because characters can't have flaws she lost a leg want her to lose another before you're happy? "della to me seems a person who look for danger just for the sake of making scrooge or herself proud/happy (for example that christmas episode where she wanted to capture santa" again adventures run in the family and doing something for your uncle is wrong? also you forgot she wanted to spend xmas with Donald while he wanted to be alone sorry if I came of as rude just trying to join in on the discussion.
Lagt Karpa Koi here’s the thing they’ll all need time to adjust to Della being back in the family. That’s what Scrooge brought up in Nothing stops Della Duck.
Denime they think he’s on vacation. I think they’ll notice when he’s supposed to return from said vacation you see😅
7:45 I’ve been thinking the same thing, maybe that episode where the Moon People invade Earth could be the Season 2 finale.
How long do you think before they find out Donald isn’t on the cruise? Lol
I feel so bad for Donald, because he is in such a bad spot and everyone thinks he is just relaxing on a cruise. On the other hand I'm pretty excited to get to see Donald's and Della's reunion and how Della reacts when she finds out Lunaris betrayed her.
It’s a month long cruise, so probably a month. Good luck, Donald (you’re way overdue for some).
Grace Ahlgrim Maybe? Like they wont really know where he is until the moon people attack and although they are aliens, they might not be able to built enough Rocket ships in a month. This makes me also doubt if the moon invasion is going to be this seasons finale and the finale might have to do more with the bet with Glomgold.
Little theory though: The moon people attack and since Scrooge is very Rich and not completely selfish he spends a lot of money to defeat the moon people (Glomgold wont do it, because he is just too selfish). Because Scrooge spent all the money he loses the bet and loses his while Fortune to Glomgold. This would be the finale of season 2 and in season 3 we see him trying his Fortune back. He May just go to Goldie as a first step? (In the letter he got from her at the end of the episode in season one was written: when you need some gold, come and find me. Scrooge really could need some help now and Goldie could be a worthy companion with her lying skills etc.)
saiyan 4414 I think when he doesn’t return from said cruise the red flags will happen
You mean "Dewey" was the one looking up on their mother behind his brothers' back? Not Louie.
One little perfect factor is that sure, we don't know about the triplets' dad, but Della's the one who *laid* the eggs. There couldn't have been a storyline in which a MAMMAL was expecting and yet somehow left her kids at home- this story depends entirely on Della Duck being a mother BIRD.
It was perfect and gorgeous and I went from having no clue where the duck the triplets came from to absolutely adoring their mother. This whole series just blew my expectations out of the water. It made me a serious Duck fan again.
Season 3: WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO DA FATHER?
Can't wait for the Darkwing Review! Keep it up, Seaniccus!
"it's why we followed Louie"
3:36 ....
Louie. :p
Just discovered this channel... so happy to have so many Ducktales focused videos... as a 35 year old man... ugh what am I doing?😥 watching more of these bitches!
It's like 3 episodes after della and Dewey had a mission at the vault and we haven't seen her not once 'come on show'.
10:24- Donald looks cute in this shot.
I was not expecting that General dude to be the twist bad guy. That through me for a loop. What a dick. I meant Penumbra wanted to get rid of Della but she didn't want to hurt her or go to Earth. I just wonder what will happen when they get to Earth considering it would be 6 times the gravity of the Moon and an atmosphere.
I literally clicked on this so fast
Darkwing Duck... DARKWING DUCK!!!!!!!!!
SAD PART IS when Della return Donald left
There shall never be a family reunion
It's a good thing that the show is having a break so you can catch up to the show.
I honestly originally thought that Della will only return on in the end if the season. Apparently I was wrong.
Same!
3:35 ..... Dewey..... Not Louie, Dewey
U know I've bean wait for this thanks
I still think it's weird how oblivious Della is to Penumbra's open hostility; even being told at the end that Penumbra reminds Della of Donald doesn't shed that much light on the subject... Sure, they're both almost constantly angry, but Donald doesn't strike me as the openly threatening type, at least not this incarnation.
I also find it weird that Donald's getting pestered with these constant adventures or strange happens, considering he's almost never involved in them up to this point in the series. No seriously, for one of the main characters of the show, he doesn't really appear that often, and a lot of his appearances could charitably be called cameos at best. I suppose it's somewhat justified since he doesn't want to go on adventures anymore, but it's weird that now all of this is suddenly happening to him, and now he has another excuse not to be in more episodes, since he's heading to the moon now. ...That said, it DOES make sense that he'd start stress-molting, given how constantly angry he gets, regardless of how often he goes on adventures.
All that said, Lunaris is a pretty good new villain for this season, and he's completely original instead of a revived villain from the old series, too! Looking forward to seeing where all of this goes!
Also, am I the only one who thinks it's weird to see space aliens and literal Greek Gods in the same episode? It makes me wonder if Selene knows the Moon is inhabited by aliens.
I am kinda bitter sweet about Donald’s fate. While I understand it’s purpose in setting up the Moon Peoples new purpose in the story. One of the best things in the story is seeing Donald interact with the family. And with him being removed from the story while Della is back hurts to see.
Once again I’m fully aware of why it happened, I’ve just never been a fan of the “take something meaningful away” trope. E.g. villains getting their stuffed bear broken and stuff like that. In this case Donald getting false hope to see his sister again, especially after raising her sons and the Christmas episode.
donald will be back there's only 9 eps left of this season
Ahh I’ve been waiting for this review!
Gosh I loved this episode, it actually made me cry lol, I haven’t cried watching a cartoon episode since the Gravity Falls finale😆
can't wait to rewatch these series...u pointed out some great show. these writer r great
I could see their dad being a military officer who got killed
1:42 I've just had a momentous idea - the Duck family know the Greek gods and Selene was Della's friend. What if she set Della up on a date with one of HER family and the boys' father is secretly a GOD? Think about it Disney, that'd be awesome!
i lost it at the evil dead homage, omg donald rules!
Tomorrow we'll fine out if Donnie will come back or not and Learn bit about the dad of HDL
Very nice video, Seaniccus.
What are the old comics?
Since you point out the comic book references in episodes just made me feel like I have no knowledge on some Ducktales things. ^^’
I only watched the old cartoon
Both Ducktales cartoons are based in part by numerous Donald Duck and Scrooge Mcduck comics published over the years.
Spoilers for the Next Episode! Yeah, I was only willing to accept Della "back" into the family only after "Nothing Can Stop Della Duck". When I found out that she was the one who left her family behind to get on that rocket ship, even if it was an accident, it made me begin to resent her. As if, this quick, space adventure was more important to her than being there for her kids. Unfortunately, "Whatever Happened to Della Duck," didn't help. It cast her as a reckless troublemaker who kept making foolish mistakes over 10 years and had to be saved by the biggest cop out of an ending; the fact that she needed gold to fix the ship and, what a coincidence, the moon just HAPPENED to be the biggest supplier of gold in the Solar System. Could've told her that a good 10 years ago! Thankfully, Nothing Can Stop Della Duck showed me that even though she's not good at it yet, she wants to try an be a good mother and not just go on adventures whenever she wants. Plus, she apologized to her kids almost immediately into the episode.

I loved these episodes
3:40 - worked so hard and still mixed up the names 😅 sorry
I think their father may have been a fleeting fancy for Della, someone entirely wrong for her, and that's why they don't mention him.
Della is such a cool mom
Finally!!
Aw I feel so bad for Donald now
I never understood why that guy betrayed and lied about Della Duck
That’s how you do a good reboot Cn
I agree. This show just got so much better
I do like this show I do but I think they don´t handle Donald well, they avoid using him so much. He is in like 1/10 episodes. Except the finaly and premiere he has been part of 3 adventures? And he has been the focus in them, I like Donald to tag along. He got comedic gold just by tagging along similar to Launchpad. But hey if you gotta have one weakness then that is one.
I can't wait for your views on the Darkwing episode (EDGAR WRIGHT IS IN IT)
It's really good, and worked better than I imagined!

Because that seems like a big plot hole there.
Because Penny didn't learn about Lunaris' plan for invasion until AFTER Della left.
