    I always enjoy every upload from you Kathy. These visits from Stacy are a GODSEND! When Stacy was talking about finding comfort food that you can stick to, I was super happy about that. I've been struggling with pizza cravings quite a bit and when Dillon from Well Your World released his Pizza Oatmeal Bake for his email subscribers I was excited. When I made it, it BLEW. MY. MIND!!!! Having this in my back pocket for those days when my brain won't shut up is life changing. Thank you so much for all you do Kathy. And thank you Stacy for saving us. You, my dear are the BEST godsend 💋💚💋

    I enjoyed this post. I also had a challenge with just a simple potato for a meal as far as being full but when I add beans and I add a higher fiber, low glycimic grain like buckwheat or oat groats, Quinoa , Farro, Kamut etc it fills me up and I have a nice Budda type bowl with some vegetables in there . Very filling and satiating. The grains cook in the instant pot easily and can be frozen to pull out and eat . Oat groats, any other oats, Amaranth, Quinoa, Chia seeds, flax seeds are all gluten free and when added to a soup or bowl are very very filling

    When I'm eating out anywhere, I don't hesitate to request steam with no sauce for my food. Look to side dishes instead of meals on menus.

    My work around for giving up processed foods is learning to make them myself according to what I want in them. Like tofus, cheese's, etc

    • @stacycross8480

      Good for you, Victoria! That's a great approach!

  • @ellycou

    On giving up processed comfort foods. There is always a healthy alternative. For example blend a frozen banana or mango into ice cream. Or air fry some potato slices into chips. Even if the healthy alternative is more than you should be having, it is still far better than a pint of ice cream or bag of chips. Remember, this is a life long process. So indulging a little in healthy alternatives while giving up highly processed comfort foods is way better for you in the long run. Less painful too!

    • @ellycou
      @ellycou Před 5 měsíci

      One caveat, though. If you find yourself craving a So Nice Ice Cream bar you are probably hungry, and would probably be better off popping a few baby potatoes in your mouth rather than having the frozen banana ice cream. The potatoes would be far more satisfying and probably eliminate the craving for junk food entirely. I find I usually only get cravings for junk when I'm actually still hungry. Don't "chase your hunger" with wastful, unfilling calories.

      What we call kids mix is a frozen veggies mix of carrots, corn, peas, and green beans. It's Cheryl's favorite!
