Hood is the most enduring Tier VII battleship in World of Warships Blitz. However, she's not a clumsy hulk, but a fast warrior. She boasts excellent maximum speed. Hood is perfectly armed. Her accurate main caliber guns are backed up by a strong secondary battery. Bombers and torpedo bombers should avoid her. The battleship's effective AA guns make short work of aircraft. Technically speaking, Hood was armoured about as well as HMS Queen Elizabeth, a full blown Battleship.

Yes in reality it was battle cruiser. Sacrificing its armour for speed & firepower. Ironically her fame was her undoing . She never got the refits & full modernisation done in time before being sent to intercept the Bismarck. She was always away on public duties
Call it a lucky or unlucky shot that penetrated her magazine....it was seriously unfortunate.
God rest all those lads that died on her. Only 3 survived, tragic.

Historically fact HMS Hood was an unhealthy ship to serve because of the dampness in her, caused by being so close to the waterline, sailors would get pneumonia, hence she has nicknamed the larges submarine in the fleet,

Technically speaking. Hood was the the only constructed ship in her class, it being the Admiral class. The Admiral class was design to be a new generation of battlecruiser. They had the strength of battleships and the speed of cruisers. Due to the Washington Naval Treaty and the price expense. Only Hood was completed. She then became the pride of the Royal Navy. She was due for a refit before the breakout of WW2, but it never came. When she was worried to stop Bismarck, she had yet to have her refit and still had her relatively weak deck armor. The salvo fired by Bismarck hit her deck and penetrated to her citadel. This ignited an ammunition storage area which made the Hood explode. The other ship that Accompanied Hood, Prince of Wales, was new and suffered from technical difficulties which forced it to retreat. Had Hood had that refit, things might have gone differently that day.

Erm... HMS Hood was an Admiral-class Battle cruiser. Not ‘considered to be by some’, WAS.
In fact, was the the last battlecruiser built for the Royal Navy.
Anyway, aside from a questionable promotional video script, she’s a fine ship: better than her PC incarnation. Still tricky to use though.

@@thatryan What do you mean by 'you want a T7 BB'? As in, if you want a tough, brawling ship then Hood is not for you.
Hood, with armour closer to a cruiser than a true battleship, plays best like a cruiser: keep distance by kiteing a target, using speed and stealth to find and exploit vounerable targets.
The tricky part is that in game she is, of course, a battleship thus takes a team position opposite an enemy battleship in the matchmaker. If your team needs you to play the damage sponge roll, all you have going for you is your best in class hit point pool.
The 'tricky' part is balancing what your ship is actually good at (being the biggest, baddest cruiser at the tier) and what your battlefield role, matchmaker and team need you to be.

On a related note, I just had my first battle vs a Hood. Funny how the video claims the citadel was very hard to hit, yet I hit it with my second salvo in my Warspite.

A BB salvo that doesn't citadel you only happens because the shell dispersion means it missed.

I actually managed to sink a Bismarck with this recently. I have avenged her
1:20 it is sad that the developers are lying to all of us, on the mobile version, hitting the citaldel is completely rondom, you can aim at the superstructure and somehow get a citadel. And now the developers are claiming that the ship have some unique characteristic, ever tho it is fake.
Tip: Aim for the decks on the Hood, I mean it worked for the Bismarck when it encountered Hood.
I just got her a few weeks ago and so far her and Nelson are my favorite Tier 7s!

Hood is bigger than Bismark in terms of size and length, but the mass of the Bismarck is heavier.The Hood's armor is like paper(75mm thinnest)while the anti-air of The Bismarck cannot even shoot old ass byplanes
Actually the AA of the Bismarck were quite good but the swordfish were to slow for the AA system made for faster and bigger planes

Old battlecruiser (not battleships) way overdue for refitting to WWII armor standards. She should never have stood against a modern fully armored battleship. She was the pride of the RN alright because she was beautiful and had big guns but as the flagship she never got the urgently needed upgrading of deck armor as others of that era did. As a post WWI battlecruiser she had no business fighting Bismarck.
