    Don’t need to remove shift knob, just releasing the collar and pulling up the trim panel, you can get it high enough to slide tray out

    Did you also test out the iPhone 12? The iPhone 12 and 13 don't lie flat due to the protruding camera lenses and I'm not sure if that would limit the charging feature. I have a 2021 RAV4 XSE with the Qi charger and it shuts off after 20 seconds. I don't know if that is an issue with the OEM charger or if due to the gap caused by the camera lenses. I've tried the charger with the phone case both off and on, no difference. It is a MagSafe case and charging works fine on my Anker charger in the house, but the Anker charging pad is round and the camera lenses don't touch it. I'm going to ask Toyota dealer at my next service interval, but I'm hoping to find an answer on the Internet before then. I don't really want to have to spend extra money to replace the OEM charger if it is not necessary. Thanks.
    Also, a suggestion - when you remove the shifter housing, it would be a good idea to cover the exposed transmission tunnel with a towel in case you drop something. That comes from personal experience. :)

      Make sure you place the phone exactly where the charging coils are on the OEM wireless charger(even slightly off can make it not start charging). Test it on another phone and if it's still not working ask Toyota if they can install another and hopefully your still under warranty.

    Could you tell me about what you use to mount your phone in your Rav 4. I found one that works ok with vents in my 2018 XLE but I believe where the vent are in the 21 XSE I have ordered it would kind of impede the head unit and the climate controls. Awesome content, keep them coming!

      @Rav4Gen5  Před 3 lety

      At the moment, I don't always mount my phone answer because I use a dasaita head unit which is a full android unit. Prior to that, I was using a simple magnet to the vents which worked okay. Good horizontally, not so much vertically. amzn.to/3hvK9bl
      Might be a nice video to do a comparison between the options available specific for the Rav4. Stay tuned.

    Hi, I installed this product. the wired connection works fine but wireless charging is not working. In addition, there is no light on the wireless charge screen. I guess the product is broken? In addition, I have message showing on screen "parking brake unavailable". do you know how to fix it?

    • @Rav4Gen5
      @Rav4Gen5  Před 3 lety +1

      I have not noticed problems yet but will follow up with you in the future after more use. I think there is enough gap on the underside to allow some flow of air. Guess we'll see.
