Akram Khan: Torobaka (a dance duet between Israel Galvan and Akram Khan)

As part of the ninth edition of the Parks New Festival, the British Council and Prakriti Foundation presented Torobaka, a dance duet by Akram Khan (Kathak-contemporary, UK) and Israel Galván (Flamenco-contemporary, Spain) between 24 September-13 October, 2015.
The show brought together two masters from the world of contemporary dance where they grappled with the idea of Toro-vaca, a Maori-inspired poem by Tristan Tzara. Toro (the bull) and vaca (the cow) are both sacred animals in their own respective cultures and they come together but united, in a symbolic way.
