NKP 765 Bringing Steam to the Cuyahoga Valley

I went to Steam in the Valley on September 22, 23, 28, and 30. At Boston Mills, the whistle sounded different because they got a guest whistle from the Mad River and NKP Museum in Bellevue, OH. The train went from Independence, OH to Akron, OH.

The 'guest whistle' is from the NKP 760, sister engine to the 765. This past weekend -- Sep. 28, 2018 -- is the first time that whistle has operated on steam since leaving the 760.

I went on the 22nd for the run from rockside and when we passed the yard we had to pick up a popcorn machine which delayed up by 5 mins then about 30 mins later the popcorn machine blew up 😂
