Pere Marquette 1225: The Return of the North Pole Express
On November 18, 2023, Pere Marquette 1225 finally made its long awaited return after 2 years of extensive wheel overhaul. With this, it opens many doors for more trips other than Owosso - Ashley. Here in this video, we watch the engine wake up, go through its day, and be put away for the night. Enjoy!

On October 14, I set out to the I&NE to see 765 on a fresh set of tracks opposed to the usual CVSR. Throughout the entire day, it was cold and wet but that did not stop the chase at all. Here, we chased the Fall Colors train from Angola - Ray before ending the chase to return home. Enjoy the video!

765 will not be returning to the valley, the erosion issue is not fixed and definitely not in shape for a steam engine. The 765 will be staying at I&NE for the time being
@RailsOfIllinois No time isn’t up either. When it does come time, they will do it in sections so that they can still operate

I really love how you can hear the joy that 765 has when she blows her whistle. :-) I can't wait to see her again at CVSR; she's become the pride and joy of Ohio as much as she is for Indiana. CVSR told everyone in their official website last year how disappointed they were when they had to cancel unexpectedly.
765 will never come back to the valley. The washout is way too unstable to handle its weight and will take years to be fixed.

I wish that the movie had either maintained the original whistle sound or that they swapped out the whistle for the one the movie used. It just feels wrong. I don’t associate that whistle with The Polar Express

A great train! But once again, there was either a Dash 9 or B40 8W right behind the EMD SD70ACC. That kind of ruined for me.
NS never even had B40-8Ws…🤣

PM 1225 is back! But the only problem is that now she has a dual beam headlamp. What was wrong with a single beam headlamp?
Incandescent Bulbs are not allowed by FRA requirement as they apparently contribute to global warming
While SRI has a supply of single beam bulbs they’re becoming harder to find and they want to extend that supply as much as possible so the dual beam headlamp will be easier to use plus it provides better illumination when they’re running at night like they do for the North Pole Express
