The Renault Scenic is a stunning return to form for the car maker credited with inventing the people carrier - or MPV. The five-seat Renault Scenic looks fantastic inside and out, and features a clever interior, bags of practicality and plenty of technology and safety equipment. It’s a car that’s well worth considering if you need the space, but don’t want an SUV.

Cupholders are making her absolutely crazy!!! And I thought I was crazy.
This Renault is just fantastic.
Your obsession with Cupholders;)
Koboi777 + Drinking while driving is unsafe.
interesting theory
alcohol yes, water or coffe no.
Indeed. Cupholders are probably the last thing I would look for in new car. But then again, I am filling them with coins, cig lighters, keys and whatnot.
My dad owns the same car, and I've driven it alot. I really like the interior. Simple styling wins for me!
Great Review of one of my favorite MPV's
I Love Ginny. Perfect Informative review! Thank You 👏🏻😊
all Renault looks really great today, i love clio, megane, and scenic. would it be awesome if they bring back avantime?
the avantime is (apparantly) ugly. it would not get any favour to it.
This is gorgeous!
I drive a 2012 Scenic, it is so comfortable and economical on diesel I am very slow to change it.
what if child seat is mounted on second row? is that system for putting down second seats row is blocked in that case?
Wow the new generation Renault cars are striking! Can't believe how good it looks. Too bad they didn't integrate the center console a but more futuristic into its design but none the less, still a great car.
The rear lights look like that of the Talisman, the slightly larger Laguna replacement only available on the continent!
Ginny gets excited over sliding rear seats. Zafiras have been doing that since Griff Rees Jones advertised it in the 90s :)
what about the ride comfort ? fuel consumption ?
Ok..so the seats fold automatic via the tablet..but do they un-fold by the tablet?
The left rear seat is connected the middle seat so you can't take the middle seat out or fold down the middle seat to create a table like the mk2 also what's with the big rims it's meant to be a comfortable car not a sports car
Well actually Ginny the cup holders disappearing isn't really a problem is it, as your favourite bottles don't fit anyway? Looking super hot as usual btw, still the most enjoyable reviews of this type.
I'm beginning to wonder how we got about before cup holders were invented??
Please wear more jackets like this!
For me, the problem with Renault is their interiors never quite match the exterior. All the new models have striking exteriors. Clean, but bold exteriors, then you enter the vehicle and the interior isn't even half as exciting. And you get a little frustrated, and the magic is gone.
What's wrong with Megane II?
Fortunetely the new clio and captur have great interiors
i guess not even the editor watches the end video.
guys if you are reading this remember you are the best most beutifull person so dont let people get u down
thanks man
What was on the back of the front seats?
trays to put your food and drinks
Sorry Ginny it didn't lose its way - it evolved and the Scenic MK1 was a trend setter and every follow up was an evolution and gradual update. Works well for every other maufacturer
The cup holders in my Renault Zoe are equally useless. I don't know if it's the same across every one of their cars, but either way, they need to step their cup holder game up.
the french are upping their game this year
Gasper Kosmac Indeed, especially PSA (Peugeot-Citroen-DS)
Why do you need to drink so much while driving?
lmao. innit
lol it's like she is planning to drive through Sahara
Alexey Gumirov believe it all not people like to take drinks on certain length trips, I know I do, but I usually have a 1ltr bottle I put in the footwell rather than use the holders plus you have to bare in mind these are not just for solo drivers, one thing I don’t like is if a car favours just the driver for a cup holder rather than thinking if others, also I might put change in the spare one.
20" rims seem craaaaaazy on a car like this...Surely tyre costs etc wouldn't be great for a 'family' car. Side profile looks good though, like a concept car
gusbandicoot a special tyre unique to the car has been designed and it's no difference in price to the tyres on the previous scenic
Chris is right. These tires are pretty narrow, to reduce drag. Just look at the numbers: 195/55 R20. The sidewalls are also pretty high, so ride comfort remains good. The price is not so cheap, but quality never comes cheap. Only Conti and GoodYear is making the summer models, while Michelin joins them with an Alpin 5 winter.
Powerful 1.5 DCI engine, but Renault is known to have a heavier clutch pedal. Hoping these new models are different.
I, for one, beg to differ on the cupholders... Where I come from, we actually put drinks in them - not coins and ticket stubs.
My Fluence has two cupholders, both of them so weirdly placed as to be useless for anything other than an espresso.
Some people say the French design cars often only for themselves and sometimes even for no one in particular, and it seems this car still has those traits.
And don't get me started on micro-sized gloveboxes for RHD models...
Renault should take a look at Peugeot as their 3008/5008 are a cut above the majority of suvs and mpvs.
The most important thing about car for her are the cup holders!?
Renault cup holders have always been too small; I have a Laguna with one cup holder that isn't big enough to hold anything more than a can.
And Renault have been using that audio switch gear since God was a child! There's definitely a sense of "if it ain't broke..."
But I often wonder whether car manufacturers ask the question "Why?" during their product development meetings. Why do you need to get the seats to fold down from the touch screen in the front? You still need to get out to load the boot! Clever it might be, but pointless too. Although fun for annoying the kids when they're sitting back there...
This car has character don't know why I love it! So much better than a Kia Carens for the same amount of money
please review Renault Captcher too
they did
What's with that weird cut at 3:45?
I was thinking the same thing!
scottishfanta Where?
Ma passion 3:45
scottishfanta still Didnt see the weird cut
It's more what you hear than what you see.
cupholders are so important. is it really so important to drink something while driving?..
How's the ride quality? It must be horrible with those 20" wheels.
Oscar Lee You honestly dont think they considered that when they made them standard? Duh... of course they fucking did you nit wit!
Firemarioflower ????
It's better looking than all previous ones so that is a good thing!
Nice seats too, not that convinced of the dashboard tough. A shame it does not come with bigger engines!
I don't think it is much smaller than the original Espace from the 80's. It's over £20,000!
Does it break down allot been hearing Renault problems but thinking need a a reliable car for kids that not gonna kill me financially
what is this obsession with ever larger wheels ?, every car I've been in with oversized wheels ie, over 17 inch has had a bone shaking ride, and that's before you get the shock of the cost of replacement tyres !.
Not been impressed with this move to putting all the vehicles controls on to a touchscreen, having to go through several sub menus to make simple adjustments is not a step forward, technology just for the sake of it !
These 20" ones are actually interesting though, designed especially for the Espace they're not particularly wide and still have reasonable height tyres so comfort and road noise shouldn't sacrifice much for the better look. It's a good direction to take things.
Yes, I know they were specially designed for the scenic with a higher than normal aspect ratio, but read several reviews were the ride quality and handling were still an issue and with only one manufacturer if you don't like the grip/feel/tyre life, tough !.
Sounds like a lot of negatives but I had the previous model and I really liked it
Well, if you are not afraid of french manufacturers, buy a C5 with Hdyroactive.
Had a Mk1 & 2 Citroen Picasso, not exactly the sharpest handling vehicles but extremely practical
And the freaking price of this exotic tyres is not all: They will NEVER be tuned to perfection as other dimension from same model/manufact. due to low sale volume.
Is it car dig, or Ginny short? 😀
I wish we had this in the U.S.
you can buy a european version and buy it there
@@tia_smrdi That's illegal in the US, so much for "the land of the free"
@@swecreations Are you talking about the strict U.S import regulations or a stereotype about europe?
I see Ginny I press like, great review as always
I really like Renault's design language on their recent models, including this scenic. I also love the fuel economy of the 1.5 diesel, as I have always gotten excellent fuel economy out of it, no matter which model it is in. However, I am reluctant to purchase a Renault with a diesel engine at the moment, given the new regulations being rolled out and that 3rd party laboratory tests have shown Renault's diesels to be the second most polluting on the market (after FCA), emitting 12 times the limit on average. They really need to address this issue. It is a real shame, because otherwise I find their products to be quite good and an excellent value. Unfortunately, their petrol engines are not always offered with an automatic nor are they powerful enough. A hybrid version to compete with Kia Niro, for example, would also be nice.
You're such a wuss.
Protector of the Republic lol thanks. I am happy I compelled you to give such valuable feedback.
20 inch wheels standard?Have you seen the prises for 4 tyres Renault? Is this affortable for a family, because this is a family car,not a racer.
Do a video about the Audi A3 sport back
My favourite car is the Nissan Note
Conor pets 6 , note is smaller comare to scenic
the 1.5 engine should be done away with. Just put a 1.6 in and be done with it, the driving experience will be better for all.
Rear get in must be horrendous that she avoid talking about it
Yes she is totally obsessed with the irrelevant. Cupholders??? I have had loads of cars with cupholders and I don't think I have ever used one ever once ever!!! Maybe because I'm a bloke.
I do like this car very much and it's already in my final list for when I change my car.
You shouldn't be drinking anything while driving so why is the cup holders being hidden when the centre console is slid forward? You can be charged and fined if you are caught eating and drinking... while driving. Safety first
A problem- should be after slid forward
you obviously dont drive
Josh Briggs class 2 HGV driver so that makes me a professional driver to trade. Drinking while driving is dangerous and distracting and can end in a crash killing you and, others.
It's just as bad as eating and using a mobile while driving.
nah mate. i buy a milkshake sometimes, its got a straw, when im at a set of traffic lights or on a straight bit of road ill have a sip, while still looking at the road. you gotta be mentally deficient to think thats dangerous
if i don't have a family and i buy this 🚗, does it make me a creep?
Why would it? Car looks good, while the comfy space inside can seat friends too, not just family... not to mention the number of stuff it can take for which you don't need to hire a transportation company. Great choice for now, with practicality prepared for future (family). I have an MPV, and while I did not use the third row (#6, #7 seat) too many times, but when I used any or both of them, then it was a save of the day.
I am with child
+John Kyon you need to turn yourself in at the nearest police station and get yourself some some serious help.
John Kyon it makes u an idiot, wasting money
Looks like a bulky high raised Clio
Looks like an oversized Clio
A lil bit maybe, but that's the best scenic design ever
Lovely!!! French cars are made for family life and normal people
sound in this video is very poor
It's a well thought out car and would be great to own however, the poor build quality and equally poor customer service from Renault will put most people off
No rear passengers,cupholders
Rear passengers,no cupholders
Oh pleaseee😕
I like the lady, I like the car, but I don't like 20'' rims. Actually I don't like 20'' tyres. C'mon, people! They are not just expensive, they don't fit on 16'' rims! You can't use them on a horse cart once as they get worn out. :D
Yo
20 inch in a small MPV, why??
looks like a blown up clio
20" tyres for a family. hahaha
Sale it in America it will sale
£120 per tyre! If you want winter tyres then the cost of the wheel etc, no thanks.
I can carry these bottles for you Ginny....Just call me... :)
Too superficial. Looks like more a commercial than a critical test.
The only ☑️☑️☑️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Peugeot 5008 is better!
StanceGTI they are of different segment...
They're trying way too hard to make it look different. I personally hate the design of those wheels
Please give this lady better, more exciting cars to review.
You should call it the Renault Express!
No...
Toyota Previa look alike
Ginny paseno... kaip gaila.
wonder why they have bothered producing a new MPV the market for this type of car is pretty much dead.
Afraid I feel this car, as with the MPV concept, and indeed Car Buyer as a channel is way behind the SUV CarWow world...
"the traditional car companies are going to face huge unemployment in the next few years as consumers will expect vehicles to be electric and have driver-less technology" - Google CEO
Given that comment was a few years ago now, I guess it didn’t age very well. Still waiting for affordable electric cars and driverless is a loooooong way off still! 🤣
20" is most ridiculous .... (and in connection with 1.2 - 1.5l engines just moronic)
And why would that be? Dimensions are 195/55 R20, so the tire is less wide than usual 16" tire.
I'm sure the engineers at Renault are all morons and 20" tires are for looks only. Please read about the subject before trying to appear smart in the public.
geronimo apache yes they are morons because when you have to change tyres 20" cost x3 then 16"
I have a fetish for watching terrible awful ugly car reviews lol, basically any modern cars
Time will tell BUT the electronics on all the scenics have been a night mare sorry stay clear of a French car more things to go wrong 👎
car looks ugly, especially in baby turd yellow
Ugghhh. When I see middle aged lady gracefully tap the LCD screen and LCD screen react even more gracefully, with tons of slow and smooth animations I want to puke (on modern car industry), because it remind me when I isntalled Windows Vista back in the days on Pentium 4 computer with 1GB of ram. But thank God there was that "system" icon in Control Panel where I could turn off all visual effect once for all. But that was PC which was replaced by optimized Windows 7. Than I remember Android phones which demanded your time (and patience) every time you wanted to call someone or just do anything with it. But that was device which I replaced by snappy WindowsPhone8 (for short while until they screwed up everything). But THIS, this pile of "modern" tecnhology in 2017 throw at us this LCD and button animation like some early 2000's flash website, as top of the cake feature of the car? Are they serious? At the same time they replaced back seats with a bench (a used to be reson to buy older Scenics) and install even weaker engines, with even bigger rims? Woa. Not to mention that seats/bench are collapsable from LCD screen tile, instead of being motorised to LIFT up, or maybe they rather install motorized back door as standard and than be loud-voiced about it. And While that nerve eating LCD control will overheat your brain while finding climate controls and waiting to react, the huge glass roof will make perfect hothouse to cook your brain al-dente. I just ask myself why using 5 inch smart phone in car during driving is unsafe, but using this 24'' LCD monitor for just about every car control is supposed to be safe? Is it? It is not! Taping screen one-by-one degree celsius up and down (with animations in between each number) demand you to park vehicle and just admire the GUI while wife gently massage your shoulder and whisper nasty words in your ear how sexy this car is. You can not drive and do it (safely) at once alone. Some companies (minority I admitt) at lesst couple that to hardware knob, or some sort of control. Let alone there was nothing (NOTHING) faster than old fashioned slide or turn knob hard linked to climate system. Grab the dial blindly and adjust the temperature in a split of a second. And they try to tell me all this is progress? Yes for manufacturer only to lower the feature implementation costs. I just hope they do not have Windows ME running in the back of the screen.
Endless money pit
Jumped up Clio! Utterly rubbish!
