Copter 2 performing a hoist rescue on the American River Bike Trail. Metro Fire’s Air Operations Division is equipped with 2 Huey Helicopters, and 2 additional helicopters in the works. The helicopters are utilized regionally, and capable of being deployed to large scale incidents for rescues or air attack operations. We’re one of only a few fully capable hoist rescue helicopter programs in Northern California.
