As much as id like to think id do ok at a comp, ive still yet to try. Social anxiety isnt a blast, im also the guy who would show up with a 7 or 8 year old design, and get walked on. Im still gathering parts for a 10ii build, even tho everyone seems to be going with portals. But this way i can reuse alot of parts from my ancient honcho. Or maybe put tiny tires on my trx4 blazer and try class one. If they even alow portals.
Go for it. Yes. Portal are allowed and even the top choice for LCG (low center of gravity) rigs right now. Traxxas portals good. Better choice would be the AR45 portals from a 10.3. Portal clearance but with narrower track width than the Capra. My new rig has Capra axles and it’s wide. May look to change it up next year but we’ll see.

The class 2 course were definitely up in difficulty. I’m glad though because I made some impressive climbs and fumbled some but that’s how you learn.
