This time, we're covering the LSAT.
A truly modern LMG design, Black Ops 2 marks the weapon's first appearance in the series, where it is unlocked at level 13 in multiplayer.
The LSAT, or 'Lightweight Small Arms Technologies' program, is a US-funded effort in small arms development, led by the AAI Corporation.
One of the key goals of the program is to reduce the weight of both the weapon itself, and its ammunition: a reduced payload giving the soldier increased flexibility, and enhanced lethality.
The LSAT light machine gun is one such weapon developed under this program: designed to be lightweight without compromising in performance, the most notable trait of the in-game representation is its use of caseless ammunition.
The blue-coloured rounds do away with the traditional brass casing, instead being comprised of a bullet encased within a solid propellant.
Another feature includes a digital bullet counter device affixed to the magazine, indicating the number of rounds remaining.
Weapons such as the LSAT could very well supplant weapons like the M249 SAW in their squad support roles, with their drastically reduced weight and equal or better effectiveness giving the LSAT design a distinct advantage.
In-game, the LSAT's damage is relatively high - you'll kill in just three shots out to a comfortable range, and will seldom need more than four shots to kill.
While the LSAT's reach doesn't quite match the Mk 48, it is nonetheless impressive, and it's only over the longest sightlines where you'll start to see a loss in potency.
Like its peers in the LMG category, the LSAT also boasts very good penetration characteristics - few weapons will tear through cover as effectively.
Rate of fire is a healthy 750 rounds per minute, bested only by the QBB within its class.
This output allows for a balanced blend of a quick time-to-kill up close, and more stable handling at a distance - making the LSAT quite a versatile weapon overall.
Rapid Fire will take your output to 1000 rounds per minute, but this will hamper handling traits and reduce your effective range greatly.
Hipfire performance is standard for the LMG class: certainly not stellar, with wide spread limiting your effectiveness.
Recoil is present, but relatively mild - when burst fired, the LSAT has the reach to match any other automatic weapon.
Up close or at a mid range, automatic fire will be effective - and with the decent rate of fire and large pool of ammunition, the LSAT can be quite deadly against groups of enemies.
Aim time is slow, at 450 milliseconds: the same as all the other LMGs.
Most handling traits are sluggish, in fact - and the LMGs have the slowest movement speed of any primary weapon class, at just 90% of the maximum base.
Magazine capacity is excellent, however - 100 rounds between reloads gives you an awesome potential pool of lead to spew in the direction of the enemy team.
Extended clip takes this to a loftier 135 rounds.
Reloads are very slow however, as you might expect of a belt-fed weapon: a seven-second reload is the price you pay for such capacity.
Still, as long as you find somewhere safe to reload the benefits might outweigh this delay: carefully dispensed, 100 rounds can provide an unrelenting defence against overwhelming odds.
As mentioned, the LSAT is a very versatile weapon and can support a variety of loadouts - stick a Target Finder and FMJ on and you have a very solid LMG build.
The flexible nature of this weapon does open up some alternative tactics, however - and our build with the LSAT is a subversive one, for an unconventional defensive approach designed to foil your opponent's awareness and expectation.
The LSAT is a versatile light machine gun that performs well across a large spectrum of ranges.
Its blend of a good fire rate and large magazine means its potential output is more than ample; yet the relatively low recoil means the weapon is still simple to handle.
It is outclassed in damage and range by the Mk 48, however - and still suffers from the usual slow-paced handling of an LMG.
It's slow to aim, requires a lengthy reload periodically - and will often leave you vulnerable up close when compared to weapons better suited for close quarter combat.
Still, of all the LMGs the LSAT is favoured by many for its versatile traits - and as long as you remain well aware of the LMG's intended role, putting them to good use is simple.
When it comes to a solid lockdown of an objective, or repelling multiple enemies without reloading - where some weapons will flunk out and fail...
...the LSAT will pass the test. - Hry
Oh boy, the LSAT combined with FMJ and Target Finder gave me a full-auto sniper rifle and earned me so much flame mail. It was glorious.
I got called the N-word because I was pwning everyone with the LSAT.
Seriously, no-one got the louis C.K reference :(
I Prefer using a Ballista for sniping. It can kill an LMG at medium range if you quickscope.
Eduardo Aguirre Exactly
you got trash typed!? xD
Any gun suppressed in this game sounds like rattling chains
The chain sound is the sound of the disintegrating belt link, as the gun's ammo belt is louder than the firing noise.
Nah they reuse the same suppressor sound for each gun
@@gcpeinhardt ok and

The kids you play literally have the accuracy of a turtle.
Slow and careful.
Turtles are slow like snipers
That'd make them more precise
Or they just have LAG.
A disabled turtle
LOKI OKVLTYS they couldn’t even hold one...
3:35 More like "Stick a target finder and FMJ on, and you'll be getting hate mail from new players and tryhard's alike".
The blue bullet is the revolutionary casing for the LSAT. It's this polymer casing that burns up when the bullet is fired. This protects a person on your right from receiving hot brass to the face. This polymer is super-lightweight, making the ammunition much easier to carry on an already lightweight weapon (for a machine-gun).
And it breaks really easily if you bang the box around
5:11 how many people are running cold blooded there!?
4
Yamaitsukami only 2
@@davisjohn1517 there were 2 others 9 or 10 seconds later
maybe more but he got killed
i like the LSAT
iron sights
Fat Whale wait, why did you start a new line for that
ew
Good point
Yes
"the lsat will pass the test" I see what you did there :D
Setup to piss people off:
LSAT
Target finder
Stock
Quickdraw
Assault shield
Overkill
Primary gunfighter
Flak jacket
Toughness
Tactical mask
No lethal
No tactical
Basically a noobie juggernaut that is resistant to almost everything. Explosives (flak jacket), flinch (toughness) and concussions/tacticals (tactical mask)
Kieran Milward consider bouncing bettys and shocks to pay defensive
clay fuller tbh I don't think you will need defences because you will be mobile most of the time
Kieran Milward ok
SN Aviate If you truly wanted to piss people off, run engineer, run past their explosives, and kill them with an Mk 48. Mk 48 with target finder generates much more hate than an LSAT does IMO, because the Mk 48 is a three shot kill at almost any range where you can hit an enemy, unless you're using a Suppressor and/or Rapid Fire.
Nope just a noobtube will work.
When I was working on Diamond LMGs, I remembered having a great time mowing people down and collecting the camo challenges in Nuketown. I can see why people swear by LSAT or MK48 Target Finder/FMJ. It's almost hard not to stop once you get going.
LSAT
Laser sight, Quickdraw, Stock
Perk 1: Lightweight, Flak jacket
Perk 2: Toughness
Perk 3: Extreme condition or Dexterity
This Class served me well!
Jacko Potatoe LSAT
fore grip, (any scope, usally dual band), FMJ or Laser sight
perk1:flak jacket and hardline
perk2:toughness
perk3:dixtarty and mask
I always used quickdraw and stock too
thats 12 points
"He who laughs LSAT laughs longest."
These videos make me feel like I'm being debriefed before a secret mission.
debriefed is after. thatd be briefed
Back in 2014, after a 3 month break. I went with a Lsat build similar to the one shown in the video, but I changed the dual band with a target finder and the tactical with a trophy system. On domination, map Standoff, there is a house with an awning I can stand under and a barrel to hide behind to overlook B flag. For the first round of the game I basically had that flag on lockdown. Also the amount of salt comments from the enemy team was nothing but glorious.
Edit Trashcan to Barrel
LSAT...one of the few LMG's I actually used. Usually on pickups, the LSAT proved very useful.
Aww I remember the days of FMJ Thermal Sight LSAT. Made you feel like you were playing a turret section, it was wonderful.
Good old day
Yeah i remember using the Lsat in public match and getting called a b!tch for using this gun in a head Glitch and i have a class with a m8a1 for trayharding
I just love how this weapon looks with the grip
why does he always have to say something brilliantly clever to end each video - makes the channel too awesome 😂
This is probably my favorite build that you've done so far. I really like how everything meshes together.
PS: Been a looong time since I've seen the Napster logo.
You are so descriptive with your words . Keep up the good work, you are an inspirational gamer.
Holy crap this was so well put together it made me feel like I was in a documentary! SUBBED
Pls do another 'Iconic Arms' episode.
Hey Stu, just wanted to say your editing is pretty wicked. Too many commentators don't bother to match their script to the screen or vice versa and you manage it nearly every time. Keep up the good work.
I love the real life weapon facts in the beginning. As a bit of a gun nut myself, I really like it.
Target Finger, FMJ, and whatever else.... I put on the anti-EMP perk, and just lay down on those small maps, especially Nuketown... if there's like 3 quick-scoping snipers, I switch to the LSAT class mid game and just turn myself into a human sentry gun. Why not? I've evened out Domination scores many times by doing that. On Domination, I'd rather win the game. I don't care if the other team has somebody with 40 kills. They still lost.
Frankly, many players on Domination nowadays, are killwhores. They just spawntrap and reap the kills and killstreaks, not necessarily playing the objective.
***** it also happens a lot in demolition
kstanni87 . Might as well say, most of the CoD fanbase.
*****
Yep killwhores just ruin the matcth and often i lose in demolition because the team wont put any effort into securing the bomb especially during sudden death rounds
kstanni87 .
yeah, that's what call of duty is about
1) LSAT
2) FHJ
3) Flak Jacket/ Hardline
4) Toughness ( no 3rd perk)
5) EMP
6) EMP
7) Primary Gunfighter
8) Grip/Quickdraw (your choice)
9) Target Finder/ Reflex (your choice)
10) Stock
You can rack up points and get high killstreaks. A class well suited for those times you just get a little tired of "trying".
Probably Not A Chicken FMJ*
MYMBOLICHES No, he means the FHJ launcher
This was the best feeling LMG I've used in any COD I've played.
Really great job! Keep up the good work.
I wish you mentioned your score streaks in these videos
Quickdraw, Stock, and Suppressor and you have a high capacity AR.
hey stu i like videos i enjoy very much since you do everything old school your intros is old school setup makes me enjoy your videos but keep up the good work
i like how you make the craziest classes and thay actually work!

Claymore
+Deezus Nubes To you, its dumb. Understand the class before call upon judgment.
I miss Black Ops 2!!!
That pun took me a minute. Nicely done.
I love the class philosiphy, i personally would mix the perks and stuff around a bit, but still a great weapon guide
Does anyone else besides me know this gun is a reference to James Cameron's ALIENS movie?
It's not. The LSAT is a real gun from 2010. Long after ALIENS was made.
TheDarthGhost1 I think he means the ammo counter on the box
Steward thinks lets give them a "stealth" loadout, for some people that means sitting in the back of the map just scoped in
Stu, have you actually noticed that a lot of viewers already know about each weapon and people just watch it because...well...you're so cool.
Grip, Rapid fire, and Suppressor, thats the best ive seen
nooooooooooooooooooooo targetfinder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Target Finder sucks ass and makes you an unoriginal lemming. Period.
Bram Hillenaar its not a target finder
Target finder + LMG = Trash
LMG+Tgt. Finder= OP
***** woah, don't piss your pants ;)
😂It does suck when people headglitch with LMGs
I play with quikdraw, silencer, stock
Target finder + LMG = A FUCKING LASER.
Ooh man I was waiting for that LSAT pun.
Your voice and the ending of the videos are awesome!!! Gj! :)
Just can't wait untill the next episode!!
The Vector is one of my favorite guns!!!!!
Really impressive LMG build...
Looks fun!
That pun was absolutely beast!
having more experience than someone with a weapon that's an auto lock on... you're soo good dude
I don’t know why but I find these videos entertaining even in 2020
Pun was clever this time round, made me think a bit, bravo Stu
Sorry Drift0r but, XboxAhoy is the #1 sorce for black ops 2 weapon guides.
That is a great idea to expand his videos
Yup. My QBB build is similar to Xboxahoys--suppressor, dual band, smoke for taking objectives and the FHJ for knocking down enemy streaks.I tried the HAMR, the Mk.48, and the QBB and I like the LSAT the best.
He just discussed this in a recent video, and I have to agree with him. It took me forever to get the FHJ's gold camo, because people just never got player-controlled scorestreaks.
So congratulations, people were dominating you enough for you to easily get it.
Looking good, thanks again might start using this :)
I love this gun. It tears through crowds of people specially in objective game modes like Hardpoint or Headquarters.
you rock xbox ahoy!
This gun with a dual band, foregrip, a shield on your back, and a smoke grenade is deadly.
Also flak jacket, toughness, and tactical mask.
loving the Napster logo Stu!
Great video stu
UK centric pun today. Clever none the less. Great vid of my favourite LMG.
You absolute hero I hope he see's this!
stu the lsat is the best lmg i was expecting more of a high killstreak slayer lmg class. but this class is just too much fun
I like the LSAT with Target Finder not because of the target finding, but because of the zoom. The Target Finding is a bonus add on, although
textron or the owners of AAI were just in the NGSW competition for an LMG (to replace the M249) and a AR (M16). Telescoped ammo was the special sauce that they were using like the LSAT
sorry for pointing out the obvious, but ur voice rlly matches these kinda vids :) great vids btw!! ur vids are awesome!!
The iron sights on this gun are beautiful.
Dude thanks this class is great I just went a 24-4 with this class nice
That gun looks badass gold.
I got my first double swarm with your class!!! thanks!
Hey , Xbox ahoy you should include what score streaks we should use , just a suggestion , keep it up
The target finder is only annoying when people camp with it, it is also a brilliant anti -camper/sniper attachment
The LSAT will pass the test! Nice one! :D
damn Stu, four headshots in a row at the beginning there. Nice
Nice weapon setup.
everytime I watch one of these videos, my english gets better
Awesome class
Liking the new logo Stu.
His endings are beast
The amount of headshots you got over the course of this guide is absolutely insane. How did you do it?
Clever as ever Stu, having the Napster logo with the Blind Eye Pirate calling card. Lars Ulrich would not be pleased.
Love this gun.
I only have up to quickdraw now and only one camo, the first one, but I just put on quickdraw and Eotech sight with scavenger in Hardpoint and just let loose.
Even hipfiring I can win against most enemies.
This gun is the most fun weapon I've used in BO2.
No worries, -it's very mature and polite of you to acknowledge your mistake. Something we don't see enough of on CZcams.
I come every week just to listen your voice.
I miss this gun greatly
I enjoy the new XA logo
Love the built in device that shows the number of ammunition you have.
Personally love the LSAT, its my favorite LMG one of my favorite guns in BO2. I usually run it with quickdraw fmj and variable zoom and play a more mobile defensive role (moving between choke points and such) but thats just me.
Best LMG. LSAT with stock, quickdraw, and dual-band is a laser beam slayer, but it's really fun to run around with lightweight and an LSAT with laser and rapid fire. It's a CQB bullet hose! Great for wallbanging too.
I believe that the stuff being ejected is the belt that the ammunition is fed with. Notice it is grey, like the belt, and many belt-fed weapons share this characteristic (the belt isn't shot with the bullet).
I love everything it helped with everything
This thing is too good. Center speed is crazy
I run Target finder Quickdraw and Grip when I use the QBB, makes for a killer class.
can't wait for the vector class.
This was my favorite lmg in BOII
lsat silencer and fmj and dualbang make good claas
in case you guys were wondering about the pun the SAT part in lsat is the test hes talking about
thank you ahoy
lmg with target finder and quickdraw is the best combo
love your work stu...any chance you will start doing map guides again?
