    Is never having hair tangles ever again enough to justify buying this? What are your thoughts?

    I really appreciate your authenticity, especially given that you received the product for free. It's refreshing to see a reviewer who isn't swayed by sponsorships, unlike many others who seem to be merely echoing the brand's messaging. Your honesty is vital in a landscape filled with paid endorsements. Keep up the excellent work!

    This is by far the most honest review. Other videos have only nice things to say about it. I ordered the cheaper model - Fero X plus. It’s coming soon and then I have 30 days to return it.
    After using it for a week I can say you got a couple of items wrong. What I found that it does allow up to 4 maps saved at the same time. To enable this feature need to update the Narwal Freo App to v1. 00.27 or later, and then update the firmware in Narwal Freo app to v01.
    The suction also increases on the carpet compared to the hardwood and the tile.

    Thank you for this, I was playing with the idea of buying it but all the minus points you mentioned are relevant for me, so I will look for something else.

    This was a wonderfully well rounded review. The mix of positive and negative, not holding anything back on either side, was great. Your knowledge of the field for smart vacs comes through and helps give folks a good understanding on the extent of pros and cons vs. the market.
    And major kudos for the great wig as a prop!

    I have informed customer service about all these issues, but their only response has been to ask for a video. I sent it to them, and they have not taken any action. These products should be thoroughly tested for defects before being released to the market, especially considering how overpriced they are.

      Though I don't need the base station if I only want it as a vacuum. I prefer to have different robots for different rooms for maximum laziness
      That, and the kitchen is directly next to the living room. It means you can leave the kitchen closed and no pets can get in to forrage for food.
      Currently I have to leave the kitchen door open for my Roborock S7 MaxV ultra.

    Do any other vacs compare to this regarding hair ? Whar would be second place ?

    • @ModernDayTech
      @ModernDayTech  Před 2 měsíci +1

      No, I haven't seen any other vacuum that would be 100% maintenance-free when it comes to hair around the brush roller. The second would be the Dreame's newer vacuums that come with the TriCut Brush roller and the Eufy X10 that has the Auto-Detangling Roller Brush, but both of them still require some hair maintenance, although it's reduced.

    I’m trying to get a vacuum that will avoid puppy accidents but properly mop as well. Is this Narwal the way to go or Roomba J9 but it has a pad that just drags on the ground and doesn’t scrub. Or is there a model? I’m not even thinking of is the better way to go?

    • @ModernDayTech
      @ModernDayTech  Před 2 měsíci

      Narwal is the last one I would choose for puppy accidents. It’s the worst at obstacle avoidance. I would also stay away from anything that just drags a pad. That’s not clean to me.
      Narwal does a good job at mopping but not much better than other rotating mops. There is a new breed of mopping starting to come to market. You can see the rolling mop head concept in my SwitchBot video - czcams.com/video/vueEwrTB9sw/video.html. SwitchBot's obstacle avoidance is good but not great, so I wouldn’t recommend it for homes with pets that have puppies. Although the Switchbot has the plumbling feature that's awesome.
      The best at obstacle avoidance is the Eufy X10 - czcams.com/video/gaMdTDmFav8/video.html, but it still has rotating mopping heads, which are good but not the as good as rolling mop head with a on board fresh and dirty water tanks.
      So if you want the rolling mop and the Eufy obstacle avoidance, I would recommend my next video on the Eufy S1 Pro. However, due to the rolling mop, it’s not great at edges or corners, but otherwise, it’s awesome. Check out more info here howl.me/cmt1YMYd4KD (affilaite link) and it will be on Amazon on Wedenday geni.us/eufyS1Pro (amazon affilaite link)

      Thank you very much for the reply. It’s appreciated. The only reason I thought of the Roomba J9 was it has a puppy or poop guarantee. They’ll replace the unit. I just didn’t like the mopping but maybe it’s OK for light work ? I’ll look into the one you mentioned, but does it have a guarantee just in case it ran over puppy accidents?

    • @ModernDayTech
      @ModernDayTech  Před 2 měsíci

      @@davecook4266 Sure, here's the revised text with corrections for spelling and grammar:
      No, not that I know of, but I've always been skeptical of companies that give those types of guarantees. If you read the fine print, you'll often find something not kosher: shipping costs both ways, deductibles, replacements with remanufactured products that were owned and used by other people, weeks to months of waiting for a replacement, and overall red tape and hassle to get a replacement only to find that it's not covered. Plus, it's not the end of the world to clean the vacuum yourself. Sure, it's nasty, but that's just part of having a puppy. I'd rather have a better mopping system than some BS guarantee. That's my two cents.

    Does it do under furniture?

    • @ModernDayTech
      @ModernDayTech  Před 2 měsíci

      There is over 1,000,000,000 different pieces of furniture so I think the question you should be asking is how high is the robot. It’s 10.7cm

      @@ModernDayTech Can I find a shorter robot?

  • @ivo4357
    @ivo4357 Před 2 měsíci

    it seems you just have to be lucky I guess. I've seen a lot of these videos, and what stands out is that the same models avoid all objects in one house, and just make a mess in an other house. I wonder if the house itself (room size or shape, the placement of furniture...) has something to do with these systems actually 'seeing' things. It shouldn't! But it's hard to deny the contradictions when you see a video of a robot avoiding everything (like I saw this one do in another CZcams video), and another of the same robot running over everything (like it did here). You can't be "best in class" and "totally useless" at the same time. But to a customer it makes it hard to trust even what you see with your own eyes. Reviewers like you can only report what they experienced, and thank you for that.

    • @ModernDayTech
      @ModernDayTech  Před 2 měsíci +2

      Thank you. I think it has to do with the height and size of the object, as I also saw some videos where they used cups and toys. Frankly, in the real world, I'm not worried about cups and toys on the floor as much as I am worried about wires, pens, and feces. Cups and toys in the real world move, so they don't matter as much. However, the stuff that matters in the real world is lower to the ground and smaller which can make a huge mess or cause the vacuum to stop working.
      Are those the videos you saw or did you see simlar test to mine?
