Nahid, you and your crew have made a wonderful film. It's quite realistic! Your expressions, your thoughts referred to your past and present are quite convincing, no pretense, just what you felt . You showed us a glimpse of a woman who had almost everything one can hope for and still she underwent very hard situations as a wife and mother. I think you should be proud of your film! You have the capacity of reaching out to people's hearts, at least that was what happened to me.

my king and my queen have served Iran in the best way imaginable.
people should not think that they can rule better .
I am a monarchist and know that democracy is not for Iran .
For 5100 years we had kings to guide us ,that Is how we prevailed our civilization.
freedom of speech is not the reason for the revolution.
It was that the people were ungrateful for what they had.
now my people suffer for what they did and call for the monarchy to return.

I agree...the Empress is not haughty or arrogant, but humble, loyal, compassionate, and a mother figure for myself and other compatriots. Just the way that she stopped to take a picture with the two girls in Paris, and how she actually takes time to reply to the people who contact her says a lot to her humility. Iran really lost a gem in 1979, among others. Health and happiness to H.M. and the rest of the Imperial family 💞

MF Dixon really? I didn't know anything about the queen before but she really seems like an elegant, graceful lady. The filmmaker, her I don't feel so kindly towards. She complained about the Shah and how the people were treated under his rule, but she was a part of a revolution that killed people and suppressed free speech, and she seems to have little to no misgivings about doing so. If we're me, I think I feel terrible that I helped bring the Khomeini and mullahs into power.

I thought to my self I swear as a kid something is happening very bad. Yes I agree people of Iran lost their beautiful country by over throwing Shah the Great. I remember even from India Doctors used to go to Iran and work cos of better salary. In this changing world people are still believing old fundamentals. No religion is great in this world. Every religion is same and equal. why ? because of politics. Innocent kids are dying. I dont know where the world is going? I want to visit Iran but scared? Very good country when I was a kid. God should help.

I shouldn't have been surprised by the negative American news coverage of her husband at the time. The left is even worse today with its lies and distortions of history. Two brave ladies both humane & determined, both made to suffer by power hungry ideologues. It never changes, those attracted to politics for the purpose of wresting power from an opposition debase human communication and relationships - and cause horror and fear to the majority as a result of the methodology of "means to an end" making promises to the majority they know they have no intention of keeping - and those that destroy history & traditional cultures are always brutal and inhumane - leaving people with nothing but fear.

The first Shia Imam, Ali bin Abutaleb cousin and son in law of Mohammad bin Abdulah in his book has preached and advised his follower, Muslim men not to trust their wives or women since they are born with under-developed brain.
I was shocked when I first learned about Ali's statement, perhaps because his wife was the daughter of the messenger, Fatemeh Zahra.
But the events in 1979 in Iran proved to me that Ali's statement about Muslim women is absolute and accurate. For example Shirin Ebadi the Nobel prize winner, Farah Diba the wife of late Mohammad Reza Shah of Iran, Simin Daneshvar the wife of a Shia kleric, Shokouh Mirzvadegi and Simin Behbahani just to name a few to lead women by millions in Tehran's streets to shout "Down with the Shah, viva Khomeini"

As a chinese who is still missing ROC, I felt very sad while whatching this film. Kill young people and then ask their parrents for bullet cost, same stories happened in Mao`s reigin. ROC goverment is bad, perhaps very bad during his time. So people belived all utopia lies spoken by CCP. They promised the chinese of feedom and democracy. They shown everyone a great vision that after we follow them to get rid of the west imperialism (Especially US, CCP claimed the ROC goverment is a puppet of US. But meanwhile ROC had been economic sancted by US for a whole year since 1946, the time ROC government started to quell commy`s insurgent.), every person can live wealthily. Then a familiar horrible tragedy happend in my homeland too. Russian Empire executed 191 political prisoner during 1825 to 1905. But after the October Revolution, Bolsheviks excuted over 100000 people in first month. Russia, China, Korea, Vietnam, Iran...People just made same mistakes again and again.

The worst thing about this documentary if the narration and the script
that only a naive filmmaker can use dealing with a former queen. People
should always be considerate of their language and expressions when
dealing with any celebrities. The only observation I had was that the
filmmaker was evolved to a better character in term of her dressing and
understanding of the occasions by the time the documentary is done. You
see how the documentary starts with a messed up bedroom and ends up to
a tidy room. That's the effect that the former Queen had on her without
intention. There are better documentaries which are available about Queen Farah Pahlavi and the best is reading the book written by her.

Ramin Abdollahi As with any documentary made by individual and independent filmmakers, this one is also heavily influenced by the choices and opinions of the filmmaker herself. I would agree that some of the language used for narration and dialogue with Her Imperial Majesty is unimpressive, but I don't think it detracts from the film itself. It might even do the opposite, make it more personal and less formal, and the Empress is clearly herself comfortable with it.

The film maker is a prime example of what was wrong and is wrong with iran. She is so rude and bitter......the way she presents herself to her Majesty Shahbanou Farah.....disheveled hair, rough clothes, she thinks by presenting herself like that she is showing shahbanu that she is not important to her. The only thing I see is a classless woman trying to feel important by disrespecting others. In the end, in the fundraiser she is walking around barefoot. I m not a classist, or an elitist.....but the filmmaker perfectly demonstrates the type of people who hated the shah and his family. You know why shahbanou is referred to as her Majesty by the people after 40 years? Not because she has money or dresses nice or lives in nice homes, no. Because she didnt have you escorted out the minute she met you with the way you addressed her. I m just so sad that we lost our beautiful country in the guardianship of the Pahlavi Dynasty because of low lifes like you

No, they faced the disenchantment of a misled and misinformed population, during a time of great transition in Iran. I think you'll find that God doesn't involve Himself in worldly politics as much as we might think.
