I am sure no less than what you see today, with the loss of international and national pride, style, respect, and a beautiful symbol of national strength. Whatever brutality occurred during any imperial reign, the revolutions that replace them are often more brutal and scandalous. The deaths continue. All that really changes is the prestige.

To those who refer to Mike Evans book as a reliable source:He says Carter was working through US embassy to put khomeini in power! In fact both Carter and Sullivan in their memoirs talk about their disagreements! As for Shah being a patriot: A true patriot when faced with an uprising against his dictatorship, will let Dr. Bakhtiar to choose his own Defense minister (Jam) instead of putting Gharabaghi in charge, so he can declare neutrality and surrender the army without firing a single shot!

Are you saying the only reason many persian men dont date persian women is only because they don't want to spend $ on them? They dont deem them worthy? What about the persian women who choose to not date persian men? This can prob be one reason, but I think it's much deeper than this. I say this because of what I've been exposed to. I'm sure you make your points because of what you've been exposed to also.

the question is why you put the power into khomeini's hand? why all the so-called "democrats" such jebheye melli didn't create a secular and really democratic system? the answer is simple: because the opponents of Shah - and first of all jebheye melli - didn't care about democracy. they all haven't had any democratic mind.
