Conor was a double champ in the organization he fought for before he came to the UFC. McGreggor is the only fighter in history, to my knowledge, to ever hold FOUR championship belts and not defend a single one of them. Disgraceful.
I’m old so before iPhones and maybe CZcams Hendo was like… the white whale of hard ass mf’s him and Fedor. Hendo having a business plan and steam rolling mf’s is really inspiring.
@@beaualoevvthen every goat is overrated. Ofc not. Im not even a Jon Jones fan but he definitely isn't scared of Tom. Does him retiring mean he's scared? Does that mean he can no longer be top 3?
I think gsp developed IBS during training for the Bisping fight. He said stress played a factor in flare ups and would focus on his health rather than continue fighting.
@@beaualoevv What a wild and absolutely comical take. Fought BJ twice, Hughes twice, Serra twice (avenging his TKO loss), beat Koschek, Dan Hardy, Alves, Shields, Nick Diaz, Hendricks and beat the Middleweight champ after a 4 year layoff and you think hes scared to fight. LOL. You don't have to agree he's goat but scared to fight? LOL.
Jon Jones gets what he wants because if he doesn't fight the UFC doesn't make as much money as they could be if he is fighting. Guy is a HUGE PPV draw.
@@BatCaveOz I'm almost certain that Dana would fuck Jon Jones if he asked. Dude is way too protective of him; there's something fishy about it. JBJ must have some blackmail material on Dana and/or the UFC.

I probably got seriously into mma 4-5 years ago, MMAOnPoint is a god send for people trying to quickly catch up on all the mma lore. 90% of mma history that I know to this day was probably learned in a month by binging their videos those years ago
Lovato Jr is also one of the nicest guys. I met him at my first bjj tourney where my professor couldn't be there. Lovato offered to coach me in my bracket as long as it wasn't against one of his students. Really nice guy.
3 Champs in 11 months is huge when talking about heavyweight. A division where the champ fights once every 2 yrs if your lucky. 205 and heavyweight don't live up to the "best fighting the best standard" of the ufc. Neither have this decade.
One more thing I'm learning through this video is that Michael Schiavello is the ONE commentator in all organizations other than UFC😂 His voice can be heard in 80% of the clips in this video.👏a legend!
My fave thing about him is I'm from Melbourne so he would call the local fights I used to go to all the time. Legit saw the dude come up from the bottom
Dan Henderson vs Carlos Newton is one of those fights where you have to go back and watch it again. Under the modern criteria Newton would have absolutely won, it's very similar to the argument that people make for Randleman versus Rutten. But a punch delivered by Newton broke Henderson's jaw in this fight and he basically had to rely on his wrestling. Under different scoring criteria it is undoubtable that Carlos Newton would have become Canada's first and only Tournament Champion 🏆🇨🇦
@@mynameisnotbob6369 Agreed. This was around the aforementioned period where they started to emphasize more points for grappling, which is why it's odd that they scored the fight at UFC 20 for Rutten (though I can see how they did even back then due to Randleman's inactivity after round one). The judging criteria saw another change in standards after 1990s as ur mentioned. And again most recently this year. Regardless if it was about damage back then, Henderson shouldn't have won that fight. Carlos Newton's record is also deceiving, it does not reflect what type of martial artist he was, he often faced men much bigger than he was and also fought many of the best in his era.

breaks my heart to see gegard leave the ufc when he did because I truly believed that he would become champion but i guess it will always be a big what if.
GSP physically couldnt defend the middleweight title because of the issues with his body, in part from gaining the weight. I do think he would have had a unification bout with bobby knuckles if he could, but not if it was Romero XD
19:09 but watching BJ Penn in the last fights that he had mainly The Ultimate Fighter fight that was sad to see. It reminded me of like one of those fighters in the Nintendo game he was just standing there and taking a major beating I believe it was I could be wrong but Frankie Edgar
We have the same opinion on the Hendo knockout on bisping. My uncle ordered that ppv so I got to see it live and I lost my shit. I was super into the us vs uk season and I hated bisping watching that season, so when hendo knocked him into another dimension I was ecstatic!

Imagine doing something that you love even though there's something wrong with you the best doctor about the situation clears you but nobody else will ever maybe that doctor retired and now he's screwed that sucks. That's depressing but still pretty freaking cool that he won the title and one again after
There is one fighter that is arguable that it was his choice to leave. His medical condition made it impossible to get cleared in the US, so it was either fight in obscurity or retire.
I am not sure GSP is the GOAT, but elite for sure. I always liked him both as a fighter in the ring, and around the sport. He always seemed respectful and had honor. Always touched gloves, congratulated his opponents, etc. Even when he kept getting called for low blows against Hughes, he apologized and really it was Matt that was lowering down so what would have been a thigh kick became an illegal hit.
you maybe correct about GSP & PED's but i dont care if he did use them or not. As a human being that carried himself with decency, he will never be mentioned in the same phrases as those Other fighters you listed. he retained an Integrity they never can!

I thank god my dad raised me to be tougher then shoe leather most quit after a couple weeks and can’t handle it.
GSP medically vacated. He was never a natural 185 lb athlete. His weight gain & regiment caused colitis. It was a result of him force feeding himself to be competitive at 185 lbs. He didn't want to stay at 185 lbs. It was never his natural weight class.
I'm with Jason on the Bas vs. Randleman fight. I still think Randleman won, but it's not the highway robbery I thought at the time. Overeem's K-1 tournament victory was even more more impressive in that he broke Peter Aerts record for quickest total time in tournament victory. Aerts KOed everyone in the first round in the 1998 K-1 Grand Prix. Alistair did the same in the 2010 K-1 World Grand Prix, but in less time.
so.. to be fair with GSP. He had a pretty serious disease that he still has. not sure how it is spelled but it's a digestive problem. He had it weeks before the fight with bisping and he still decided to fight.
At this point (casuals aside) Jones HAS to run! I cannot call jones the “best heavyweight ever” even if he beats stipe…but won’t fight Tom. If, however, he heals, beats stipe, then beats Aspinall for a retirement fight….ill call him king.
