I got this as a decoy tent to use when car camping because some campsites don't technically allow you to camp inside of your vehicle and after my last camping trip I couldn't figure out how the hell to fold it back up so the very end of the video was particularly helpful...

That rainfly isn't big enough to be a rain hood on my head. That rainfly looks specifically designed to fly away in the rain 🤣 I totally agree about the getting you out camping sentiment though! If a $15 tent gets you out camping on nice days, it is worth it! For that price, you can always hang a cheap tarp over it to make up for the lack of waterproofing in a pinch. Joe and I actually used a cheap tiny camo tent for a few of our adventures, and we had a blast 😂

Thank you so much for making this video. I like to see how to fold up the pop up type items and you didn't disappoint. The directions that come with this doesn't really describe enough for folding. Visuals are always better, lol! If I may suggest, Scotch Guard is great for repelling water, etc.. Thank you for your video.

Thank you for doing this. One day you’ll present us with another surprise winner like the Ozark trail popup tent. The Aldi tent last year was a disappointment. I guess this works more as a ground cover and shade for kids to play with.

I wanted to buy a couple for a conference's sensory break room. However, I was concerned about the quality (can't find in store either) thanks for the great view. They will work perfectly for my needs unless the fire sprinklers go off LOL

It's not a total failure. New campers can use it as a water collection device, to ward off dehydration. Looks like all you'd need is a straw, and that's "ultralight" so... :)

Id guess its supposed to be for a kids backyard camping adventure going by the size.. Unfortunately those "stakes" seem to be the norm, I carry them in my hobo stove as a grate.. lol... Im putting together a 72hr bag and Im trying to think of an inexpensive lightweight shelter and when I saw this vid in my feed I thought about the plastic shelter you made a while back and I think I have a plan...
If you do take it out, take a plastic tarp as a fly/awning, it kind of defeats the purpose but....

Ok, Here's what I'm thinking. spray it with silcone,liquid seam seal, duct tape 4 pieces of plastic around the fly,to extend it a little. the take it out on a bad weekend. See if you can turn it into a $50 tent. At least it can be a good one to watch. I did that to the Ozark Trail 4 man instant tent that you made me buy.😁

Well hey, for $15 you could spend another $20 on waterproofing tape and spray and have a pretty decent entry-level tent for cheap. At least you can find out if you even like camping without breaking the bank.

He either didn’t recognize who I was, or simply too good to respond.. kinda bummed me out a bit, considering all our history we all shared while growing up.. but Tony and momma duke’s had invited me to lunch at Moes , in the plaza behind Nancy’s old place. Sadly I was only one a work break and wouldn’t have had enough time.. But I really appreciated that he offered the invitation after all those years had passed tho. Honestly miss your entire family!! By far was the very best part of my entire life. Moved awry and my life fell to absolute dog crap almost over night.. would give anything at all just to get a opportunity to relieve even just one whole summer from back then!! It’s super rare that such a great family takes in as well as openly welcome’s a outsider like one of their own family as if I belonged there!.. That’s something that I’ll always remember and it made my childhood well worth remaining!!!! But yea!! We’ll definitely have to plan on doing something together towards the beginning of next month perhaps, if you’re free then of course!! Definitely looking forward to that tho!!!!

Will it hold up at the beach?
For what? It’s very thin and small in size. If you want it to block out the sun, there are definitely better options out there. I have this sports umbrella that’s UV protective that would be great for the beach in my opinion, thanks for watching

Clearly this is a fail as is, but what would you expect would be the usefulness of this tent if you included a cheap/sometimes free Harbor Freight 9X7 polytarp, a small hank of cheap cordage and some tent pegs scrounged from the forest floor. It seems to me that the tarp could be thrown over the tent and, using the cordage and tent "sticks" be staked out enough to provide good rain coverage. The original "fly" could be left off and the door could remain open and you would have decent ventilation. Some might ask "why not just use the tarp and forget the tent?". To those I would respond that my two biggest problems with tarp shelters is: A) in the rain, the rain runs under the tarp, no matter the configuration, unless you can fly it or erect it over a mound, which is not an easy geological formation to just "discover" in the woods. Do your patented "Rain Test" on any tarp configuration and see how dry the floor stays. This tent has a bathtub floor so water under the tarp shouldn't be a problem. B) in the warmer months the bugs eat ya alive. This tent has netting to abate that little piece of Hell. If you shed the "carry bag" from the tent and the cellophane wrapper from the tarp, I bet the weight of the package would be pretty close and, if you got the tarp for free, the price would be identical for my suggestion. Whatcha think, Mr. Spackman? You're a free thinker and would have the experience to tell me if this is a good idea or just nonsense. Love your videos just wish you didn't have to act so negative and depressed all the time.😉
@John mony lmao I’m working on cheering the mood up, I’m sure it will get better soon. Bro any tarp will for sure make a tent waterproof. Location is totally key for staying dry. Being at the bottom of a hill will pool. Cots help a ton with that and like you mentioned bath tub floors. So yeah totally good idea for the tarp. I wonder if 5Below sells tarps? Thanks for watching
