    Sporty's cooler...$673.00, removable when you don't need it, works great, and weighs 65 pounds filled to the gills with ice. I agree that the cost of aircraft is helping to drive more nails into the coffin of GA. Great airplane, I am looking at purchasing a 40, but a used one. I cannot justify spending over 400K.

    Fabulous plane. Only two downsides:
    1. It could use 100 pounds extra useful load.
    2. You spend a lot of time in the yellow arc for speed (129 KIAS), which can be disconcerting.

      graeme210374 you get used to being in the yellow arc in terms of speed flying the Da40. When I first started flying it I was anxious about it but you get used to it.

    Air-Conditioning in GA is waaaaaaaaaaaay to expensive!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!! No wonder why GA is dieing!

    best airplane ever to have a lycoming IO-360

      @gamma_dablam Před 6 lety

      AV8R true. But I don't think that using an IO-360 in this plane would use its talents properly

    having to finance an A/C system is ridiculous. That's the world of GA for you though...

    Want Air conditioning in GA aviation? that is cheaper than free ? just take off and climb to 3500/FT at those levels you had lower the temp by 26 degrees fahrenheit, and beside a human body expose to airflow will certainly cool it self

      stealhty1 yeah but at airports like farmingdale you can easily be sitting on the ground waiting for take off for around 20 Minutes. And with New York humidity in the summer the AC is a godsend.

    thats the reason GA is dying, if they can get it down a bit more, much more people can go to GA.

  • @DiamondPilotDan
    @DiamondPilotDan Před 12 lety

    only $30,000 to install A/C...
    so.. your tiny air conditioning system costs more than 2 toyota camry cars, each with engines, thousands of pounds of material, advanced computers, AND AIR CONDITIONING?? i love how everything in aviation is such an incredible rip off

    • @gamma_dablam
      @gamma_dablam Před 6 lety

      AV8R it has to be certified. So that's why it's so expensive.
