In this episode we use the Electron E-Master to Powder coat a micro sprint frame Fluorescent Green by Columbia Coatings, then apply their Super Mirror Clear as well. Not alot of talking just coating. The color coat is basicly in real time with just a few seconds edited out. The Electron continues to be a great investment.

Thanks for the comment! That is in the works here in another month or so. Going to do some shop re arranging. Since Podwer coating was an after thought.

I thought it would be much faster to powder coat then spring with a paint gun, I've sprayed a couple modified chassis and that don't lock much fast, I know it better and is tougher than paint but the time isn't much different !

Took the guy who blasted the frame 4 hours to get the last powder I put on off the chassis. Full season of racing and not 1 rock chip or peppering or bare spots. 20 minutes or less to put on the base. 20 minutes for the clear and about an hour in the oven. 30 minutes to an hour to cool down and your assembling the car. Time to apply isnt much different.

are you happy with the electron gun? :), iam thinking about buying one here in sweden.. i use a spectracoat gun at the moment but it feels like it is holding me back for doing more advance jobs

Thanks for the comment! Yes I am. It's a rock solid piece of equipment and has been a solid purchase. Was definitely worth the investment. Has really saved time and material on almost every job wether it's 1 or 2 coats.

i noticed on your other videos you were using a RC-1 ...i have been looking at that but now i see you have moved away from it to a Electron?...any particular reason?

It was more of a buisness decision. I was still quite happy with the RC-1. But decided I wanted to step up to a commercial gun since I was taking on more powder coat work. The RC-1 is a great gun but I really wasnt happy with the hoppers. I tried all the versions of the hoppers had a bout the same success with all. 2-3 coat jobs are so much easier with the Electron. I still use the RC-1 for some jobs where I have a quick powder change. I just felt the investment in the Electron was the right decision for my buisness.

The jumping around the frame is getting to me. Just start from one end and work your way down.
