I loved to learn from your travel experience that it is possible to plan it cheaply. I'd forgotten about air b+b and definitely want to explore that as an option. I've never left my Country and I'm a bit intimidated by the idea and what's involved but l won't let that stop me doing it. Thank you for sharing your experiences and what works and I'll definitely be saving this video to watch again before l make any plans!! It was lovely to see some clips from your Paris video again; so pleased you and Nolan were able to see Notre Dame Cathedral while it was whole and beautiful. I love it! You are naturals at travel and your perspective is something we definitely agree with. .... I love traveling so much and really miss it now that we are raising a large family. Not matter how budget we get, traveling with the kids is nearly impossible. But maybe one day we can do it again. Love your videos.

Interesting hints and ones I've learned through the years. :) Paris is one place I've been fortunate enough to visit 4 or 5 times I love the Eiffel Tower so much that I do go up it each time I go there. :) My son and I learned that it was fun to go to a bakery and cheese shop and then to a grocery to get fruit and drink for our lunches. I am so fortunate to have been able to travel overseas a number of times. II look forward to seeing more of your travel vlogs. :)

We travel a lot and use AirBNB all the time. Your tips are very useful and sensible - and "staying in minimal places" is crucial. ALSO - cooking your own meals......so much better

What wonderful tips for travel. We are just starting to plan a trip to Hawaii so this has been very helpful. A destination wedding trip for my daughter. Oh my. Lol. I need lots of tips on this one. Lol Thank you. Italy, Ireland, Greece and France are on my Bucket list.

We do Disney World on "the cheap" and I love it. I cook breakfast each day, pack sandwiches, hotdogs and then get a few treats along the way.

Several years ago I went to Paris with a dear Italian friend. We were visiting her cousin in Turin. We took the train to Paris, stayed at a small hotel. We were only there for 3 days but we did a lot. Instead of trying to learn the subway and bus routes, we got a 3 day pass on the double decker tour buses. We hopped on and off where we wanted. While on the bus we plugged our earphones in to hear the tour guide. We learned a lot and saw a great deal of Paris. In the evenings we strolled to one of the local cafes near our hotel for dinner.

Another tip to save money travelling is to find some travel buddies. My wife and I travelled Italy with another couple. We rented 2 bedroom air bnbs and split the cost of the car rental. Did most things together but also took days and evenings to ourselves. Great job on the tips and the video .

I totally agree with your philosophy on credit cards even though I'm a Dave Ramsey fan as well. I use the Chase Freedom card. You can opt to use those points for things like gift cards, but I just use the points as a credit toward my purchases. It isn't limited to any particular purchase.
I didn't enjoy Paris like a lot of other European destinations. However, I loved Versailles and have been there twice. Totally worth it. If you have an extended time to tour, backpacking and using the rail system and hostels is a good way to see a lot of Europe. Germany is my favorite country.

We just got back from an awesome trip. We stayed in several hotels (with credit card points), an Airbnb camper, Airbnb glamping, and a room in a house with a shared bath.

Many, MANY years ago, my parents and I visited Paris. We wanted to climb the Eiffel Tower, we went there and saw the queue. The Tower looks as nice from the ground. :)

Thanks for all the travel and financial wisdom! We use our credit card as a debit card. Hubs has me trained to turn in any receipts at the end of the day (or the trip) so they're recorded. It isn't often that I hear those dreaded words, "Try to go easy on the spending this month". The Lord gifted hubby with financial wisdom, and I gratefully comply. Gotta go, hungry for crepes and macaroons.

Wow- how wonderful to experience Paris so frugally! Unless you are rich, it doesn't make sense to spend more than necessary for the experience.
I've never done this, but there is a Christian website called Candle in the window (I'll look it up and link it) and it is a place to stay for free for travelers.

We almost didn't go on this trip due to another health flare over the summer. I was on prednisone which helped me be able to go. Note my moon face in the talking videos of the trip, LOL.
My granny always makes sure she has cash that's equal to what's on the card if possible then she pays it off right away -cash on the barrel.
