I used to do alot of powwows art shows . The older indians there whould share their knowledge and teach me the proper ways of wrapping feathers lacing ect. The showed me how much more lace you can get out of cutting in a circle. I've used this most my life . But I cant stop from using scissors. It tackes forever , I've looked up on how to make lace jigs. After all these years this video just now came up for some reason. It's never to late. It's the easiest I've seen.problems I run into is using deerskin you find thin spots that are week if you pill to hard it breaks there in that spot. That's another reason i chose to stay with the scissors. I will definitely be trying out this method . And if you need it thicker add another washer..thank you...

This one is about 2.5mm. I set the knife to the same height, so that the cross-section is close to square.

Primitive Technology? Does that include the "primitive" cordless drill/driver you used to screw those Chinese screws into the Pakistani angle Brackets?? Well, I have to give you credit for going way past primitive using a chunk of wood to roll your "strap" into a round "string" as the Argentine Gauchos called a "round" strap which is usually referred to as a "thong" depending on its use at the end of the day. What you used your "primitive" strap to cut was a strap only if it was used as a strap. If it was used in a braiding or twisted to make a rope or lariat [riata], it was called a string, and if it was cut for a piece of harness or reins, it was called a "STRAP".
Man, you're right up there with your "cowboy" terminology now ol' Rusty!!

Well, if the channel was about primitive technology, of course I could collect the entire structure from sticks, rope and a piece of iron sharpened on a rock :) and it would have worked exactly the same. But thanks for the terminology, it is very informative, English is not my native language. Good luck

Who cares if the word "primitive" was used correctly or not? The point of this video is to show how you can make your own leather cord at home using whatever you have laying around. Leatherwork tools aren't cheap. This video is extremely helpful to anyone who tries to macgyver everything like I do 😂
Man... some people can find anything to bitch about.
