What a lovely sermon! I just lost my youngest brother, a beautiful man who loved Jesus, who was murdered by his own son. He did not even defend himself, and he was stronger than his son. My hope is that in those last minutes of his life, his thoughts were on Jesus as God’s thoughts were on my brother. Sturgeon is a new favorite!

So sorry for the tragic loss of your brother, Jesus wept too. Hold on He's coming. Thankful you have an eternal perspective this may be for the salvation of his murderous son... its so sad, Jesus said a man's enemies would be of his own household. I immediately thought of Stephen when he was stoned, I believe Jesus would have come for your brother before pain registered. May God comfort you with His peace 😢🕊🙏❤️

The most high and his son is not dealing with no edomites
I love Charles Spurgeon, but I just don't see how people can embrace divine determinism as he passionately does. The idea that your misery, the fact that your children died in a car wreck, the fact that you have cancer, is all part of "His plan of love and mercy" is just an insult to my intuition. Granted God uses misfortune to build us in faith, but He does not CAUSE misfortune. #NoLongerACalvinist *Glory be to God*

I cannot express the richness of my journey in stage 4 cancer I have been on and the closeness of my journey of my savior as I went through it. Devastated at the diagnosis but his nearness in the journey I will always treasure. My family and I approached the diagnosis of my cancer like spurgeon did and each one of us were richly blessed daily through my chemo for a year. Same with the early death of my dad. My mom would say the same. We will see him again. This journey of faith as spurgeon describes has been rich. I am a testimony agreeing with Spurgeon.
