So, Scheffler gets yanked out of the car put to the ground and he’s getting charged for assault?
Yes,the fool his an officer with his car!!!!
Embarrassing to the department of that city for sure treating someone with force like he committed a serious crime.
Sounds like a case of an over aggressive cop with a large ego.
He drug an officer with his car. If he were black he would already be dead.
Sounds like an entitled golfer who thought he was most important
and police directions weren’t his first language
Sounds like it’s a case of an over-aggressive famous prima Donna macho jock with a large ego.
@@kc_liberty_avenger5001 I got my money on the egomaniac cop, but let's see.
Sounds like a spoiled brat frat boy golfer who thinks rules don’t apply to him.
Shout out to the ESPN representative who seen it and didn't stop recording.
Why would he get yanked out of the car and put to the ground just because he went the wrong way?
HE DRAGGED A COP AND REFUSED TO FOLLOW COMMANDS
31, female with a baby in the car, I was pulled over, yanked out and slammed against it ! Luckily the man behind me pulled over and started filming. Cop said my tail light was fading in and out, faulty.
So the police over reactions causes unnecessary court profits.
That has happened to me, cops not being clear about what is going on then they get an ego boost and get loud. Power trip
Initial report from a PGA official and a reporter who witnessed the incident stated the officer who claims injury "attached" himself to the vehicle(??). When Scheffler stopped and rolled down his window, the officer grabbed his arm and tried to pull him out of the vehicle. Through the window I guess? Sounds like total confusion and overreaction. Cop's probably trying to get some medical off time so he can watch the tournament.
I hope the city of Louisville is ready for a BIG lawsuit
I highly doubt there is a lawsuit.
I was a cop for years and I have to say that was an extreme over reaction by the cop. If it was me, I would have just fussed at him for driving around it like that since he did stop. Stuff like this has happened to me more than a few times. Sometimes, they think it is an OK thing to do. Other times, they don't know any other way to where they ars going. But, arresting him?
Those "good apples," they don't exist, and when they do they are influenced by the bottom-of-the-barrel bad apples who barely graduated HS with a diploma. And yet that's what we get when we don't want to pay teachers (statistically speaking). Yes. Yes, I did conflate... this issue has nuance
@duket.8598 I was a "good apple" and I knew a few more. But, you are correct. Influence happens and they do tend to hire the less educated officers. (I can go on a rant about that!) Other problems is most cops are hired on the good Ole boy system and way too many of then have huge yet fragile egos.
My wife and my three kids are teachers. I can rant about the poor pay and how politicians run education.
I'm all for supporting respectful police officers but this unfortunately looks like just another example of a power-hungry, cop going to any lengths to impose his authority by any means necessary, even when totally uncalled for. While it is possible Scheffler misunderstood what an officer was asking him to do and therefore didn't perfectly follow the (seemingly God appointed) instructions of the officer, it seems pretty evident that this was a MASSIVE overreaction of a cop who had his ego bruised and therefore used it as an opportunity to inflict maximum retribution (and to show what he's "capable of"). And seriously... assault of an officer? That is so far outside the realm of possibility that I refuse to even consider it.. Just another example of a cop using the law to inflict revenge upon someone bc he felt slighted.
So his crime is hurting a cops ego.
wreckless driving & 2nd degree assault of PO
I was a cop for years. Too many cops have very fragile egos.
@@markhankins3023 it would (and should) be dropped in the end even if it went to court. It would be a time waster. Pride (and ego) is the downfall of humankind, just words to remember....
He should have claimed to be a BLM protestor or refugee. Then they would have let him walk
His crime is driving while having an officer attached to the car. What do you think happens if you drove around a deadly crash blocked and kept driving while a officer attached to the car.
Sounds like the cop assaulted him
Sounds like you don't know how to listen.
What happened to "just follow the cops instructions"? I guess that is only for black people.
Nope he tried to interfere in a crime scene
@@laartwork if he's willing to ignore police orders probably willing to cheat at gold too.
He needs to sue the crap out of the cops
Obey or pay the price unless you think your something special too and don’t have to obey the laws🤔😳
no, that would be dumb move, that would be completely unnecessary, and in the end, it would bring negativity and controversy that a super star golfer does not need, I hope Scheffler keeps his wits and diverts further media questions, etc about this.
Lets not, this country is worse off for idiots sue the crap out of others.
@@edwardabrams4972😂😂😂 🤡
This isn't uncommon.
❗Scheffler was a gentleman during the incident. Many wouldn't have been, says a lot about the man.
Doesn’t sound like. Do you have video proof of that assumption?
absolutely!
@@RetreadPhoto You're kidding right ? They're all over the place. Hahaha 😆 I love a guy with a keen sense of the obvious and a sense of humor ! His attorney's comments knowingly professional and discreet.
There’s a LOT of missing information here
That’s right he thought he didn’t have to obey the law and kept disobeying what the cops said to do until he got arrested! He was thinking he’s something special until he got the special treatment then he changed his mind 🤔😳🤣
@@edwardabrams4972 you say Scheffler thought he didn't have to obey the law (your telepathy to know person's thoughts is really stunning). I've actually done the very same thing, you're in your vehicle, not sure what exactly you are to do when cops & vehicles are in front of you, and police are arm waving and blowing whistles & what not... for pete's sake, this was completely innocent on Scheffler's part. I don't even feel the cop needs 'correction' even though we all know he was a bit too zealous in the interaction with said vehicle driver who happens to be a PGA star.
The car was marked as an official PGA vehicle. I’ve lived in Louisville for the last 40 years. One more blemish to our poorly run city! We should at least have police officers who can read and have minimal communication skills!
I'm sorry you and the other residents there have to put up with that.
So if a black teenager doesn't obey a police officer's order, whatever happens to him or her after that is their own fault and the officer was just doing their job. Yet THIS clown plays golf, because HIS car was clearly marked, is arrested, ( not beaten, tased or shot to death) and it's somehow a sign of how poorly your city is run. Because that makes total sense.
@@christopherhuff3123sure. Conflate to unrelated things together to justify your myopic views.
@@wi11ialvl it's everywhere these days. Miscommunications all around, on everyone's part. Nobody to blame, it was just a crazy morning. Of course Scheffler, being a rich, public figure, must get an attorney at the ready in this litigious hungry society we live in. I hope everyone on all sides drops this, and moves on.
Last i checked he didn't reach for a knife or gun or try to drive away after being stopped. He was arrested but he complied with the officers and wasn't belligerent. And the amazing thing is he was released quickly and made a public statement that it was a misunderstanding...never heard how he was going to sue the department or demanded defunding of the police....seems to me he used common sense and lives on to play another game of golf....g@christopherhuff3123
I thought Barney Fife lived in Mayberry.
Wow!! Crazy charges right before work!!
I bet that cop wouldn't have done Tiger like that.
If that's Tiger Woods, media and Al Sharpton would lit up.
He would have billy clubbed him. 😂
Why does everything have to be about race? Seriously, get a life. Look in the mirror-if you don't see any positive change you're making, then you're part of the problem.
Im 100% sure Scottie had no intention of violating any police commands. These charges will all be dropped.
Golfers are out of control maniacs.... you never hear of NFL players getting arrested.
The cops need to relax, and stop hurting people this isn't earning them any kudos.
At first i figured it's pro golfers being crazy pro golfers.. But now I'm thinking it's bad militant cops responding poorly... the smarter bet 😮
Over zealous police officer, happens all over the country damn shame
The speaking educated police officer speaks..he being arrested. Does he know sentences??
How about you read what you typed and then let us know, do you know sentences.
@@trustnowon
You have a runoff compound sentence.
Try this way….
How about you read what you typed, and then let us know. Do you know “sentences “ ?
Just busting ! ! !
😂😂😂😂🤣😂😂
😇
obviously Scheffler didn't grasp what was going on, what he was driving by. Then a cop got all exasperated (traffic fatality earlier got everyone all worked up) and he got a little aggressive with Scheffler. I believe Scheffler's comments. i don't think anyone is completely at fault. I hope they all drop this on all sides and move on.
Even in a fatality incident that doesn't justify shutting down a highway that could lead to further safety issues for thousands. Poor highway management
The hell it doesn’t.
If this was a black golfer like Tiger Woods but just up-and-coming this would have went down so differently. The police department overreacted
I think Tiger would've handled the situation just like Scheffler, with self restraint and class. And we all know Tiger has already had several incidents with police due to his past vehicle accidents. agree, the one police officer should've been tag teamed with another cop by his side to help keep officer "Short Fuse" with some perspective on the situation.
What happened? I couldn't quite make it out from the news report.
there was a fatal accident in front of the golf course. Police were directing traffic and he either ignored them and tried to go around or misunderstood what they were telling him to do. So he started to go around on the median and they told him to stop and i guess he took a bit too long to stop and one police officer tried to grab the door handle or something. So yeah now he charged with number of things.
Back the Blue until it happens to you!
@@amolleybaseball Wow. I had no idea. Two of my close friends are in the PGA by the way.
Police need to do better.
Ego policing create a bitterness in the mouth of the public, however, cops don't appreciate arrogant drivers either.
So he stopped ten yards too late……
That’s a biggly crime.
Sounds like one of the cops was in a sexual relationship with the deceased.
I don’t know 🤷🏾♂️.
🤬🤬🤬
This would make a great "American Express" commercial.
😂😂
I need a "Free Scottie" T-shirt with that mug shot on it!!!

Only 14,300 McDonald’s. Let that sink in.
What...?!
@@gregpellegrin8713 real stats... seems to me they have WAY to many gold courses.
I'd like to see the body cam footage of the assault on a police officer. The pro golfer probably had different entrance to the facility. Dark and rainy is the hardest to follow designated lines in the road. Add the confusion on the scene with flashing, glaring lights. Let's no persecute this guy just yet.
Lol
It will come out. It won’t be flattering. Cops seldom get stupid when they know they’re being recorded.
Absolutely right. These states should be fined if you want to know the truth because they don't have bright white paint lines or orange reflectors on the highway & that should be law. How frustrating for Scheffler but he's class act, kept his cool overall throughout the entire situation.
Massive overreaction by the police but the golfers handled himself correctly. Now the cop will look stupid and probably be staying on traffic duty.
This guy is going to take home the W after this one!
Damn thug thought he his privileges would bail him out 😂
Knowing corruption in sports betting someone trying to affect the outcome of a bet?!? More than sus that once they were told he is a player they off him anyway, no breathing room with LE.
Appears to be a misunderstand by all parties
They ripped him out of his vehicle.
Ignoring officers commands and driving recklessly on the median is a misunderstanding HOW?
@@WhiskeytosparrowTends to happen when you commit a crime and ignore officers’ multiple commands to stop
Except “assault” lol. Charging assault is beyond a misunderstanding. If it was truly miscommunication then that’s a wild overreaction from police. And how they were talking to the reporter…Wouldn’t even let him get a word in lol. Power/authority seems to go to their heads often fr
@@TheMangomelon789 assault isn't always ASSAULT, so take a breath. Years ago my high school age daughter was at summer band camp goofing around with the other band kids. My daughter with some others stuck her foot out quickly and for only a moment as one of the school's young band directors was passing by. Apparently only my daughter was noticed, and the next thing I know the school and local authorities were 'about' to take action on her attempted assault. What I'm saying is a feeble scuffle is not an assault although the 'law' likes to label it such. I do think that one certain police officer was a little too aggressive considering the situation and over-reacted. However, he doesn't need to be suspended or face any 'situation'. It was simply a tense morning. Everyone should let it go. Scheffler seems to have handled this well and his public response was very considerate.
How did they make him put a jumpsuit on just to be booked?
So...vandalizing college campuses, blocking highways, looting... it's all okay. This guy gets yanked out of his car and put in an orange jumpsuit because he misunderstood instructions from a traffic cop?
Let me guess there's no body cam footage of it?🙄
Looks Like someone saw an opportunity to change odds on FanDuel bet😳
He needs to hire a better attorney immediately. That dude doesn't know anything lol
His first mistake was trying to drive around and accident - second is the cop tells you to stop, you stop, that guy is not above the law
The second place candidate bribed the police 😂
OK, analogy time.
Asking Jeff Darlington for help is like...
Lets hear from you.
I just don’t believe that the police could make any situation more confusing. They are the law. They bring order. They are very well trained. They have never killed innocent people. It’s your own fault if you can’t play their game of ‘Simon Says’. /s
In general, I agree with you. I'm retired military, so I know all about following endless rules & regs and repercussions from not doing so. However, it is very confusing at times to get around cordoned off areas on a highway or to discern exactly where and how the cops want to direct or divert traffic. It seems like it should be 'obvious', but it isn't to most of us regular drivers. I've been yelled at by a traffic cop for not reacting exactly as the cop wouldn't liked. Was I being ego driven or defiant? No, I simply didn't understand because it wasn't as intuitive for drivers as it should have been. Fortunately, most traffic cops have been patient.
Who ? Never heard of him. Any word on the P Diddy sex Trafficking case ?
From the club house to the big house
My thoughts were exactly what his lawyer stated.
That Being "Scaid".. ??😮
Detective Gillis “failed to activate his bodycam.” Wonder why.
Charges will be dropped. If we have anything, it’s double standards and special rules for special people.
Hope the city of Louisville is ready for a big lawsuit
WELCOME TO THE NFL!! OH WAIT!! 😂😂😂
People are crazy to think closed road are not closed for them
sometimes you're driving along following vehicles before yours and you just can't see & process everything as immediately as the Police would like. After all, the police set up the cones & cars and already know in their brains what they'd like the vehicular traffic to do. We drivers on the other hand are only processing the road blocks, detours, and whatnot as we are encountering them moment by moment. It's not as easy as it sounds.
Civil rights needs to be taught

“You’re in charge. So he chose

Asshole should NEVER become
the default of a police officer
This is what you do when you own a large betting company pay cops to arrest him. No body cam?
Well, even the number #1 golfer isn't above the law. You'll be ok Scottie
yes there real brave with an innocent but with real criminals they let go it’s bull shit
How does a person assault a police and get out hours later?
The cops he needs to sue the crap out
Lets see what the govenor and police chief have to say. I hear walmart might be hiring security officers.
He should have stop
Anybody else would still be in jail.
It's a shame.
If he tried to cut around an accident scene the SOB needs to be arrested and jailed. He's not above the law.
Kentucky can wave goodbye to the pga
I bet he was listening to some gangsta rap, real loud, and it just went to his head.
Cop ripped him out if the car!
The dept is hopefully sued & the cop looses his job.
John Daley would have fought the cop😂
Nope qualified immunity
If someone refuses to get out of the car when legally ordered, absolutely they will be dragged out of the car. Obey the lawful commands of police. How hard can that simple instruction be?
Good for the cops. He was told to stop. He didn't. why should he be different than any other citizen.
Where in the clip did they say that?
Louisville KY,is going to tax Scott's ass!!!!
For assault he's getting charged the car put to the ground and so sheffler gets yanked out of the

There is no need for excuses or apologies, rich boy. They'll cover for you.
money has nothing to do with it, so don't go there. Hey, Police, listen up, Close down the highway to ALL traffic until the road is safely navigable for normal traffic flow. Don't put drivers in situations like this.
Sounds like an overzealous law enforcement officer with an ego. NOTHING BURGER.
Hmm ironic that they would implement stricter driving laws right after a fatality hmmm 🤔 you wonder!!!
That's only going to put a new light on the Kentucky State Police and their handling of the Number 1 Golfer in the world????????????..
I'd like to hear Tiger Woods comments he's experienced in this area.
Why does he think he has the right not to obey the police blocking, …
Because he didn't know he was doing anything wrong.
@@jeffb321so everyone else has to stop and he doesn’t? I guess he’s never seen a gaggle of police lights stopping traffic? Or is it more likely that he had get-there-itis and expected special treatment, and copped an attitude when he didn’t get it, and maybe refused to turn around, provide ID, get out of the car when lawfully ordered, or tried to drive off?
@@RetreadPhoto you're kind of thick? picture this: dark out, rainy roads, glare from lights everywhere, cop cars and police officers in dark uniforms here and there supposedly watching over this makeshift traffic 'detour' while they're finishing up the earlier accident (possible fatality) nearby the entry traffic to the golf course. The #1 golfer drives himself to the course, and has the misfortune of not quite catching what's going on. I'm not a pro golfer, but I can relate to the stress of all of this. It's got to have been an extra pain in ass for a guy who really could've (should've) had a hired driver pick him up this morning, to be honest.
WTF….you do criminal acts…..you get arrested…..if he gets off then we can just see one more type of two tiered justice…..LIES AND TRASH TALK…..MORE LIKE “I DO NOT HAVE TO OBEY YOUR LAWS…”
It could happen to anyone.
It's more a news story as this is being made out to be!
.... just been revoked
Sounds like a case of an over aggressive cop with a large ego
Good for him. He got money and can bill him out.
What a crappy report. It's all framed on how famous this guy is and how hes "supposed" to be playing golf.
The cops presumed he was just another driver. So we're all supposed to... give him a mulligan?
I guarantee you they assumed nothing. I guarantee you he told them several times he was a PGA golfer and in the tournament. Doesn’t matter, when there’s a fatality wreck. No special treatment for anyone but first responders.
They will get dropped. All that drama and he will be doing community service! Relax !
Some ppl shouldn’t be cops. Scotty is gonna sue tf out of them lol
So what makes him different from others, all of you who commented that he should sue the police officers is just double standards people,so because he won the PGA he is allowed to drive around an accident maybe he could have an other accident, was instructed by the officer but choose to continue driving and you all think he is some sort of Demi God untouchable sportsman, right ?Hmmmmm,America the land of law and order, for some !!!!
And I would say Scottie thinks he above the law.
