I drove across the Key bridge the first week it was open in 1977, and daily for years. So tall, and majestic, an awe inspiring view. I am praying my way through shock and grief, prayed for the lost workers. Peace and Blessings from Maryland.
Oh, I bet and such an historical area in terms of our country's development. Baltimore has been hit hard in the last couple of decades and this certainly won't help. Peace and blessings to you!
@@Latebloomershow This bridge was located beside the Bethlehem Steel Mill at Sparrows Point which made steel for WWII ships and has since been demolished with no regard for its historic significance. Now a new bridge will be made with inferior materials from elsewhere, no doubt. The 6 souls on the bridge have yet to be recovered, it's such a sad day for so many. My heart hurts for so many reasons. Peace and Blessings everyone.
Interesting history about the bridge that I didn't know. You could put a lot of dirt a d build up against the wall on the shop. Could plant pla vs that like a lot of water for erosion like area n't make it pretty, glad you are getting someone to help you out! That's a big place to take care of yourself. Nancy from nebraska

Have any of you thought about if something happened to the bridges connecting parts of the east coast how many people would be trapped on the coast if something were to happen that they felt the need to flee to “higher ground” so to speak⁉️ There are parts of Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia that are only accessible by giant bridges. Can you imagine the panic if this happened⁉️ PRAY, PREPARE, PREP

I was taught that the flag never went down because the soldiers dead bodies were piled up from where they had gone out to hold up the flag. They perished and more went out to take their places and they joined the pile. The flag still stood because of them.

My cholesterol was 369 last year. I refused statins. This year it's 282. My doctor asked what I did differently. Absolutely nothing. Keep your chin up, Kaye!

Hi Kaye - just now seeing your video about the ship hitting the bridge. You’ve probably seen a lot more news about it since you made this video. It wasn’t that the pilot couldn’t SEE the bridge. he and the crew saw it and thank God, issues a MayDay alert. But the ship had lost power and there was no way for the pilot to navigate. So this would have happened unfortunately, where it was day or night. SO very tragic.

I’m with you on statins! Not for me either! So sorry for all the lives lost. I’ve probably been over that bridge numerous times in the past. I know it’s unbearable to come to grips with it but try not to dwell on all the sadness.😘❤🙏🏻✨

The Captain lost control of that ship. His power went out, smoke came from the middle to rear area. He absolutely saw the bridge but had absolutely NO control of steering. He dropped anchor and it was dragged. If it were daylight hours hundreds if not thousands would have been dropped into that river. We don’t understand why these things happen but those few people were placed there for a reason. It was their time as horrible as it may be.

Daytime or nighttime would not have made a difference, the ship lost power and drifted into the support pillar at about 9mph. If it had drifted 50 feet to the left it probably would have gotten past the bridge. The hero’s in the story are the folks that stopped traffic on both sides of the bridge before the ship hit. The last car made it off the bridge about 30 seconds before the ship hit. I was born in Baltimore. I was 17 when the bridge opened. Such a tragedy.

I saw an elongated version of the video, the ship actually lost power twice before it hit the bridge. It's an absolute tragedy. My heart breaks for all those that have been lost

Hi Kaye, I’ve driven on that bridge many, many times. I don’t believe there was any regular traffic crossing the bridge at the time the bridge span fell. The people who were casualties were the pothole road crew who also had their vehicles (common practice) parked on the bridge where they were working. There were police cruisers at each end of the bridge because of the pothole work going on. I don’t know if they were alternating lanes for operation, but I failed to see any regular traffic go into the water. It’s being hyped to scare people, more and more to not travel. That area of Baltimore is not cut off, yes, there will be more cars on 895 and neighboring streets but the hype that the news people are reporting on is just causing fear…

In fact, that is where I was seen for a glorified extra (2 days, nonspeaking) in "Diner." (I never put "extra" work on my resume.) Anyway, I dashed out a few minutes after seeing the video, because of the thoughts I wanted to share. Later, I learned what you said. Everything is meant to scare us now, so it is up to us to be discerning. Much love, my friend.

I actually saw that on the clip that I described and phone malfunctioned and jumped to slo-mo so I couldn't use that part. Yes, lights went out and back on and back off, etc. Terrible tragedy.
I completed a long term temp job at the Trade Towers, 4 yrs or so, before 9/11. It was an amazing workplace -- when we left, we were a river of clerks, emptying out of offices downtown, into subways, trains and buses, to go home.
9/11 was an immense tragedy - 3,000 clerks and fire and policemen. When I finally allowed myself to watch the buildings go down on tv, the tears came for quite awhile.

Thank you very much! Yes, I lived in Manhattan and saw that filing out of workers all the time. I was on top of the tower with family and friends on the observation deck one sunny day a week before it fell. Somewhere I have a snapshot.

Prayers for the first responders, Army Corps of Engineers/Seabees, Coast Guards, Businesses within the Port of Baltimore, the Crew of the cargo ship and of course the families of the victims whether or not those victims have survived or are sadly deceased. Prayers for the civic leaders in the city and county and Maryland who will make decisions. Prayers too for the Pilot and Captain and any insurance representatives etc. All involved and those to make near-term decisions of importance.

The whole world needs Jesus, urgently! The Coast Guard was able to stop traffic. Other things were happening at the same time as this tragedy that I'm sure we will hear about too late. The ship was having electrical problems, too.
When deleting files or pictures on your phone, look for a folder of deleted files and empty that. Should free up some room for you.

Seriously- negligence on someone’s part (especially since it was said there were problems already) literally killing others and destroying the bridge costing our country. It’s all so sad.

I have prayed for the families as the last I heard they only pulled out 2 one of which was fine and the other is in the hospital but they said they thought there could be up to 20 that went into the water. I agree it looked like dominoes falling when it went. I also agree on the statins as the doctor tried to put me on them and when I seen all the negatives I stopped taking them. I upset the doctor but as you said that is a personal choice. God bless you Kaye!

Absolutely heartbreaking Kaye! Sending prayers to those who lost their lives in such a tragic way and their families. I think I heard that the ship had been involved in another minor accident in another port but am sure the full investigation will take years. The impact of this is going to be devastating to the entire area for years to come. Sorry about your camera and phone issues - lost all my pictures on my phone once and so I never take pictures with it anymore. I know it is vital to your work and not sure of a solution other than transferring to a computer everyday you use it. Take care always...
Yes if I was on the ball, I could have done that. Now, I have many years of stuff on it. I would have to take off 3 whole days probably and do nothing but go through the stuff one by one. Yes, investigation will take years, and we will only learn of what they want us to believe.

I think it will take at least 2 years before it is will be rebuilt and fully functional again. In the meantime, people who rely on that bridge to get to work is going to face some serious traffic. I read that there are only 8 workers who fell in the water because they were there to fix the pothole, two have been found. don’t know how that cargo ship can miss that bridge.

It was almost easier to handle this kind of thing when we had news just a few times a day instead of a constant stream of it. Still hard to see don't get me wrong but it was different. Yeah there was occasionally breaking news but if you didn't have the tv or radio on you didn't know it until hours later. And there was only so much they could squeeze in to the time slot. Praying for everyone involved.

Watching this ship loose power before it hit the bridge looks a lot like when the Evergrand ship Evergreen ran aground. Who hacked the ship and took control of it and ran it into the bridge? We are under attack and at some point the gate keepers in the fake news have got to be removed so we can all actually know what’s going on. the power went off/on multiple times on the ship which caused them to not be able to steer, i'm sure they saw it even at night, as they did place a mayday call which is why most/all of the vehicles were fortunately off the bridge just right before/when it hit, they also dropped anchor but it was too late. seems to be a very unfortunate freak accident. there were 8 workers fixing potholes on the bridge at the time and 6 are still not counted for as of right now.
they also reported a possible work/cement truck that may have been on the bridge at the time but still haven't updated. the entire 22 member crew on the ship have all been counted for. this same ship has had similar issues previously.

Yes, I dashed out to make the video, and my phone jumped to slo-mo while I mentioned that. The footage was unusable. But, very glad not more were lost.
