They played Bishopstock blues festival in the UK in 98 and absolutely slayed the crowd. Three days later they tore the roof off of the 100 Club in London I was fortunate to be at both shows!! Never to be forgotten performances 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤👌👍👍
I remember where I was the first time I heard this song in the 90's. I was getting ready to turn off the ignition and get out of the car to go into HEB in Austin and it melted me into my seat.
David Grissom and David Holt... within my musical tastes have some of the best tones and playing. And I listen to a hell load of guitarists and bands. I'm always amazed at the 'Dog Years' album, it's simply divine music. This is also is very good.
Never heard of these guys until they broke up. Such an impressive band. Texas, you have some absolutely amazing musicians that I’ve grown to love. Surely would have loved to have seen Storyville perform. Absolutely amazing band. Love their music!
@jefffvideo1 David is incredible on that Fender and has an incredible tone when you hear him live ! "Get lucky just one more time !" Ive seen Storyville many times thru the 90s and even recently at Antones and they still deliver.
Awesome! I just saw them in Austin in July, the next week I saw Arc Angels. Disappointed to see Doyle "under the influence", I almost walked out but my friends stopped me..he got better as the drugs wore off. But Storyville rocked Antones like the old days. Surreal watching the drummer two weeks in a row, that dude is tight! Thanx for posting this gem!
Yes, outside Bunkers. Great Day! Storyville was killing it with David Grissom and Double Trouble drummer Whipper Layton and Bassist Tommy Shannon. Had a chance to talk to Tommy Shannon last seen with Stevie 12 years earlier in 1986 in Austin at Barton Creek Mall McDuff Electronics Store. What a bunch of awesome memories.
Hey Jeff! Got any footage of Bernard Allison playing guitars with a cute little boy (my now 23 year old son)? Or maybe some Indigenous? This has to be the first Heart & Soul benefit @ Bunkers, & I see myself backstage.
Whatta Loss, that they broke up - Smh.. Nobody like them ! Whipper & Tommy Shannon (Double Trouble) are so sought after ! They’re ALL, Sought After ! That, Sound !!
Milford mentions johnny lang coming next...hmmm would that be that guy playing the stratt?....he plays greatl (not as techy as dave) and johhny plays a strat .. im not sure...

Stevie Ray Vaughan would be so proud 🙏🙏🙏
Fab band, fab song
David Holt is from Broken Arrow, raised in Lubbock, played with Darren Welch in Impeccable and he's also an old friend of mine.

Double Trouble FTW, they make any one sound great. Although David Grissom and Malford fit perfectly. Great music guys!!
Absolutely the Best one two punch Guitar line up in ANY band. Make it look easy guys........
No, that would be:
#1 -- Duane Allman and Dickey Betts,
#2 -- Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes,
#3 and below --- take your pick.

Now I understand more about how David Holt became Joe Ely's band guitar player. God I love Texas. Thanks Dad for coming here in the 40's.

Not to be a troll but Johnny Lang couldn't hold David Grissom and David Holt's jock. He should have been opening for them.
Johnny Lang will always be a lightweight compared to these guys.
Holt doesn't get enough love either, He's equally as badass as grissom.
+Mike Petrich, I agree completely
Amen.
Marty Raymon, saw Lang a year ago and left after maybe three songs. All volume. Not much else.
♥ 🔥 💙💙💙💙💙
@ToddGilmore - only in Texas. The home of southern blues rock

A guitar that would be in tune all the time? That would be a bass.
This was at The Celis Fest 1998 (Beer) as I recall. Can anyone confirm?
I'm thinking Heart & Soul @ Bunker's
